My puppy loves Meyer's! We started going a little over a year ago after a bad incident at another groomer, and I have never had anything but good things to say about this place. I want to be able to tell you Meyers Kennels was a great place to leave your dog because many people need temporary housing for their dogs. However, we had the most horrible experience with them years ago that still bothers me to this day! We were showing our dogs and our MULTI BISS SPECIALTY dog was having a hard time being away from us and we with him but this one show he had to go without us and we were told to leave him at Meyers Kennel to get him used to being away from us! I'll never trust that guy ever again! We did not want to but decided we could go get him any time we wanted so we agreed. After a few days, they refused to tell us how he was and this happened for the next few days so we went out and got our dog! Carl looked horrible! He did not understand why we would put him there!! KENT who now owns the place (his parents owned it before) told us that my dog growled at him so every time he walked by him he threw a bucket of water at him. We were highly ticked off and needless to say we took our dog home with us! Our dog Carl had a horrible ear infection from the water being thrown at him multiple times a day and for the rest of his life, he had very little hearing in that ear. The good side (Well in my eyes anyway) We showed our dog Carl at Westminster in NY and Kent was there (Being a BIG SHOT) Carl saw Kent walking toward him and he almost jumped over another dog to get at him! Kent jumped away and was as fearful as my Carl was when he threw water at and intimidated him while locked in a cage! (Payback would have been lovely) but that's not allowed so we kept walking with our Carl and told him quietly what a good boy he was and how we wished we could have let him treat that jerk just like he treated him!! Carl is gone now and we miss him so much we will never know what other abuse he endured, Kent is an abusive a$$hole and those guys do not change their color! Take your dog there if you wish but I would never support them or their business and If I see Kent again I just may bite him myself!!! read more

So not happy...we dropped off are pup at 9am couldn't get him till 430pm they trimmed him to the point of scabs and left him long all over....never going here again read more

Do NOT use this place. My sister in law used them, her dog got sick. Several friends have used the place, their dogs got sick. We used the place, our dog got so sick, we had to take her to the vet and get antibiotics for her to recover. We had brought her food (dry) and they fed her wet canned food! We paid extra for their little lodge area, it was filthy. Had we realized all this prior to boarding her, we would have probably cancelled our vacation until we found a better, safer, cleaner place. Please don't subject your fur baby to this place. It will cost you twice, once for their boarding, which isn't cheap, and then the vet and prescription bills. Almost guaranteed to happen. read more

Yelp lost my last review while I was signing in; erased. I give Yelp 1 star. Meyer's is a great place; I have brought my dog there several times over the past couple of years, and have always been pleased. Their rates are very reasonable for basic boarding (~$25/night) but you can put so many other services and special treats onto that basic boarding, that you can get yourself into trouble quickly. I got basic boarding, but also got my dog washed and groomed/nails trimmed got him 2x20 minute walks and 2 yogurt smoothies; as well as a full session of swimming in the pool; it came out to ~$100, but keep in mind that the dog was also cleaned. From what I've seen, their grooming rates are comparable to those you'd find at any groomer (I used to go to PetSmart). They are the only place in the area, where I have been, where I can actually get my dog's nails trimmed; I can't even get the vet to do it! My dog is sensitive about people grabbing his paws to get a nail trimming; the staff at Meyer's are very good with dogs. read more

We have boarded our dog here several times over the last 5 years and could not be happier. She comes home exhausted from playing with her pals, and she now looks forward to staying whenever we go out of town or go on vacations. It was hard to leave her for the first time, but once she knew we were coming back for her the subsequent trips have been a breeze. I know they love our pup Scout as much as we do! read more

Absolutely awful. There is no sign telling you where the office is . The 2 women at the front Desk were not friendly and did not care if we had our Dog stay there or not .Both had a very bad attitude! The process took forever . We could here Dogs screaming Crying and loudly Barking in the back . This is probably why they were reluctant to give us a tour ! (Which we never got ) We left . Don't even consider this place. We used Meyers for the first time September 15 & 16, 2014. We have never had a problem where ever we have boarded our dogs before. We were looking forward to a good relationship and maybe doing some training because they are close to our residence. One of our dogs now has a case of Kennel Cough. Hoping the other one doesn't get it also. (Most likely not at this time as it has been more than 2 weeks).This has cost us $300 in vet bills plus the $48 for boarding. A lot of money for one night of boarding. I don't care what excuse they use I don't believe this should ever happen if they are taking appropriate methods for cleanliness. Needless to say we won't go there again. read more

-10 not even a one star! Never leave your dog here! This was the worst experience ever! We paid top dollar for best care and observations and was not worth the nearly 400.00 we spent for a long weekend. We didnt care how much it cost as long as they were taken care of! What a joke! Staff was never there on weekend to answer phones, didn't call us to let us know the dog sat in corner shaking the entire time. They didn't feed them - and the dogs started eating poo as a result - which made them sick and has been an on going problem for us! The two dogs were mixed up on the daily paperwork and they were not watched like they told us. Paperwork was bairly filled out and dogs mixed up. People couldnt fill out observation forms correctly!! I came home with every bag of food taken minus a few cups. Dogs were in trama for a week or so after leaving them there. They were a mess! The toys left with them to comfort them were socked with water and the others were still in the bag we took for them. This was a disaster for our dogs who are laid back and easy to care for. Dont trust facebook - they can delete any bad feedback - notice the trend. read more

This is the most expensive boarding facility in the state line area, for absolutely no good reason at all! The dogs stay in sub par kennels. Then Meyers proceeds to charge an arm and a leg for it. Giving this place one star is being generous. I bought the pet insurance that Meyers offers for a extra fee. A week later I had to take my dog to the vet because he came down with kennel cough while staying at the tails up farm. My vet called them to confirm the information to them. Gwen the owner flat out refused to reimburse the insurance that I bought. She tried to say that I was making it up and trying to make me look like I was the bad guy. Meyers takes advantage of genuine animal lovers and their pets. I cannot say enough bad things on how badly I was treated by the owner. This is a good place if you want a mountain of vet bills and a sick dog. Human pieces of trash these owners of Meyers are. Run in the opposite direction of this hole. read more
