The night before our appointment I emailed Lazarus the scope of work with photos, floorplan, and to confirm our appointment. The evening of the appointment our rental tenant informed me nobody showed up. That's a bummer. I get it everyone's busy. But trying to locate a good contractor SUCKS. To have a contractor simply not show up and not give you a call is unprofessional and waste of everyone's time. It's been a week and I haven't hear from Lazarus.

The bid that was provided by them had a lot of "tbd" on the bid....what? The bathroom is about 12x12 and they quoted us over $6k to paint. $7400 for linoleum flooring. $600 for a porta potty, we have two other functional bathrooms! The guy (Jason) who came out insulted my intelligence when I told him my budget and he said nobody who's good would do it for that cost. Well let me tell you that 5 other reputable, insured, bonded, etc contractors came out and said that they could. Do yourself a favor...if you're getting a bid from them be sure to get bids from other companies as well.

My house has not been updated since 1995 and we…read moreare on a limited budget and I was very nervous about talking to a contractor when I could not do a big project at 1 time. Jorge came over and we talked about how the process worked, how we could break up what I wanted done into smaller more affordable chunks. He was extremely flexible with me being able to add things to be done, at a reasonable price, with reasonable notice-for scheduling. So far He has taken down the track lighting in the kitchen and replaced it recessed led lighting which is amazing by itself and has made my kitchen look brand new. He has replaced the hall lighting with the same kind of lights which allow me to see much better, less hazardous. He has replaced the vanity large, bulky, oversized, old light with a sleek new stylish light, which led me to see I also needed to replace the fan light in the bathroom, the sink and faucet. Now he is repairing some cabinet doors and will patch a wall area, install a toilet paper hanger. We are working towards blinds for the windows, lighting for the living room and flooring for the house. The work he has done is excellent quality and is a huge value add both financially and lifestyle/comfortwise. He has had excellent advice and ideas and has also listened to what I want and offered pros and cons while still being respectful. I am very, very happy with my experience and will continue to work with Jorge and Willamette Valley Home Improvement Projects LLC. Quaid was a great partner both ways. Our job came in under budget even with the scope slightly expanded. Quaid did what he said he would do on time and with integrity. He was helpful working through the few problems and on-the-spot decisions we needed to make. Everybody is a "friend" at the start of a project but Quaid is a friend after the project is completed.
