I only did my hair with here but I just want to say thank you to Angelina for creating such an awesome up do for my wedding day a few weeks ago. I searched all over for a stylist in Kauai. For me that was one of the hardest searches. Kauai is not as busy as the other Hawaiian island so modern, up to date stylist are far and few between. At least from the Internet pool. I planned my whole wedding through the Internet. I did find one other salon although they took forever and a day and by the time they responded they were booked. Angelina responded to my call promptly and with so much joy and excitement, she made me excited as well after my endless search. She responded to emails and replied to all my questions on a timely manner. The day of the wedding she was the first person I saw and after a weeks vacation in Hawaii prior to that day I was in need of some pampering. She made me feel at home in her tiny studio enough for myself, my photographer, my mom and her but it was intimate enough to have an awesome conversation with the 3 of them. Angelina was very kind and listened to my wants and that can be seen through my photos and her work. She made my hair look like a bouquet of roses it was so beautiful. My husband was worried because I have a lot of hair and he loves it down but I really wanted it elegant. He absolutely loved it, thought I looked amazing and a little sexy too. ;). Thanks a million. She had transparent pricing, was happy to travel to me for a small fee and literally brought everything under the sun to get me ready. She and I worked together before to make sure she understood what I was looking for and she nailed the look. She checked in with me from time to time during the service to make sure I was happy so there was time to make small adjustments as needed. I am adding White Orchid to Yelp because I want to share how great Dianne is . . …read more I was married in a small ceremony on Kauai last month, and hired Dianne as my hair and make-up artist. She did a great job on my hair and face, but what I really want to write about is her amazing personality and dedication to making my day as perfect as possible--even with all sorts of difficult circumstances! First of all, she was very professional, on time to our run-through and on the day of, and she was well-prepared. She brought plenty of fresh orchids in the colors I had requested to put in my hair, and lots of MAC make-up. She was also very friendly and good about responding right away to my many questions and emails leading up to the wedding. She only books one wedding a day, and really commits herself to the bride and makes the bride feel special and taken care of! Not only was the hair and make-up beautiful, but Dianne went above and beyond, helping me steam my dress (and, when the travel steamer failed, made the very helpful suggestion of hanging it in the bathroom with a hot shower running--worked like a charm!!). Then, when there were major problems with my custom wedding gown, she actually helped SEW me into the dress (also helped me get into it) and pin up my detachable train, which had not been done correctly and would not stay on. It must have taken about 40 minutes to get me into that dress. She stayed a VERY long time--I think it was about three hours!--when we had all sorts of issues getting the ceremony started, she never complained or made me feel the slightest bit guilty about keeping her so long, and she was SUPER calm, sweet and helpful throughout. (She even responded to my late night email asking how to get the individual eyelashes off!) She ended up being my main companion in the getting ready process, and I cannot emphasize enough how critical her wonderful personality and commitment to making me happy were in getting me through that stressful time. I HIGHLY recommend Dianne if you want someone who is dedicated to what she does and will make sure you look and feel fantastic on your big day!

Everything stayed on through the wind, the many kisses with the groom for photos, and even a dip in the ocean. She also styled my hair into beautiful curls with a haku lei on top. She was so fun to chat with also! I didn't know her beforehand, but I'm so glad I got a referral from another stylist. She got it right. Came with my cousins to get our hair done for a formal event that evening. I had an appt for a wash…read moreand style so I came in & perused some photos on my phone so I could show Rick, my hairstylist/owner. My cousin was first so we sat for a bit until Rick arrived as we came in a few minutes early for our appointments. I wanted long, flowy curls that would stand up to a few hours and into the night since I knew my hair would relax with the humidity and just naturally since my hair is long and fine. By the time it was my turn, I discussed my idea with Rick, showing my photos and telling him my hair doesn't hold a curl after awhile so I have to spray it with a lot of hairspray. He washed my hair with very warm water, then blow-dried/blow-out first to dry my hair. If the water is too hot, just communicate that. The hair dryer reminded me of my Dyson the way the air flowed and sounded. Afterwards, Rick sprayed my hair with an extreme hold hairspray prior to curling with a curling iron then sprayed again w/hairspray. I'd say only one time I felt the hot curling iron really close to my scalp. Otherwise, things went smoothly. I was probably finished within an hour. My curls were definitely sturdy. I asked Rick if he would tease the back of my hair since I like volume but he didn't want to add another dimension & mess with the curls. The curls held below the chin for the rest of the night but fell around my face and around my head. I think it was the humidity and because I have fine hair. It was a pretty style and my cousin who has really thick hair had curls that lasted all day and into the evening. My other cousin had an updo with soft face-framing curls. That was very elegant and the design of her bun in the back was intricate. Rick did a nice job working with her shorter-length hair with lots of bobby pins and creative design. The shop has a modern & spacious feel. There's a eyebrow services place adjoining the shop.

If I could give this place more than five stars, I would!…read more I called every single salon on island with the same message explaining what I needed help with and this place was the only place that texted me back with compassion and real help that same day. I was at the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit on Oahu and had a hospital bun. I had a lot of seizures within a short period of time which matted and dreaded my hair. I could not detangle it myself and it was weighing on my self-confidence. After so much hair loss already, I wanted to save the length. This team responded to my request of detangling with such care, compassion, and patience. When I arrived I was assured that they were going to take care of me and my hair. This team was so kind to me and worked diligently on my hair for at least 3.5 hours. I was reminded that this is why they do what they do in this service industry. They accomplished this tedious task with gentleness, wonderful hospitality and fun. Towards the end of the detangling Jamie wanted to trim the ends of my hair to make my hair fuller with cleaner ends. I was floored by this team's generosity as they did NOT even charge me for this service that took up hours of their time and much effort. Jaime- you are the best! This team is extraordinary and I am forever grateful for their dedication to their work, their generosity and their kind hearts. This is a rare thing to find these days. I cannot say enough amazing things about this team of stylists! I am blessed beyond measure for what they did for me. And I will tell everyone I know about how awesome they are!
