I asked for a touchup on my permanent eyeliner, which was very subtle. What I got was a 3-4 mm line. On a 74-year-old, this is ridiculous. I now have to apply light eyeshadow every day so that I don't look like a clown. Find someone who listens. read more

i was referred to Mia by a friend who had her eyebrows professionally done by Mia. Because my eyebrows are blonde and very uneven, they're not visible unless I put eyebrow powder on them which only makes them look more crooked. Mia gently microbladed my eyebrows giving them shape and color. I couldn't be more pleased. I also had her do permanent top and bottom eyeliner which gives my eyes depth and saves me 15 minutes putting makeup on in the morning. I am extremely pleased with my results and highly recommend Mia for permanent makeup. She is artistic, careful and gentle. I experienced little to no discomfort. Tried many salons in Waynesville, finally found Mia who cuts my hair right! Glad I found her.

I have been going here since once to twice a year since I moved here. I have very wavy/ slightly textured hair and she manages to cut it well and that's all I would normally do it just a cut and leave. there are some slight inconveniences I experienced at my last visit that has left me unsure if I want to go back. first she would not allowed me to pay with my credit/debit card the past three times because it charges her a fee to process the payment. she insisted that I go to the gas station to pull cash from their ATM to pay her, leaving me with ATM fees. Save yourself trouble and bring cash! the most recent time I was going in to get a trim before a trip and she upsold me on a keratin hair treatment. she insisted it would be less work and worry so I agreed. she left me in the chair with this stuff in my hair and started working on other customers and when she got back to me she was still bounce back and forth between me and the others in the shop. this became an issue for me later and she didn't properly was all the ingredients out of my hair. once I was done she didn't give me any instructions on upkeep other than "do not wash your hair for a few days". I asked about the part that didn't feel washed and she said don't wash because it would break the bond the keratin is trying to make with my hair. I listened to her and did not wash my hair and did some more research on how to maintain it. the issue was that part should have been washed out properly at the beginning because it BURNT A WHOLE STRIP OF HAIR OFF MY HEAD! now the section of hair that was burnt off is growing back with my natural texture and I have to carefully style my hair to hide it. I know she can't do anything to fix my missing hair and I know she wouldn't cut my hair short because she has told me she would never cut my hair above my shoulders because it would look bad with my face shape and I would have to go to someone else to do that if I really wanted it shorter. if you go she is a talented stylist, but this has been a disheartening couple of months trying to figure out how to hide my short hairs. read more

To my lash girlies... Never would I ever want to trash someone's salon whatsoever but I went to Mia Salon two weeks ago for a fill because I couldn't get to my regular lash tech. Everyone raves about how good Mia was and how her lashes looked so good. My experience was not that. I walked in and no one talked to me. My appointment was at 11 and she didn't even come in to the salon until 11:45. She showed me to the room and her "trainee" was there and neither one of them talked to me the whole time. I kept saying how my left eye was hurting very bad and burning, she didn't say anything to me. So I got louder and said I was in severe pain. She stopped, dumped water in my eye and kept going. Then, she said a hair client come in and left the trainee to do my lashes. I felt the trainee keep adding lashes upon lashes to my eyes and I was still in pain in my left eye. After I was done, I went to the bathroom and paid and left. I got to my car to realize she had glued 5-6 extensions to my bottom lashes. I simply went home and removed those lashes. I told myself I would never go back because of the pain, discomfort and horrible experience. I went yesterday to my lash girl and she was SHOCKED. She was so upset at what my lashes looked like and took pictures. We ended up having to remove my lashes and I can't get extensions put back on for two weeks because I now have no natural lashes. I wash my lashes like I'm supposed to and take good care of them, I'm in literal shock. As I just called Mias salon and explained to her the situation she told me it was my fault and hung up on me. I would never want to trash someone's business whatsoever, and that is not my intention making this post but for people to ruin someone's eyes just to make money is greedy. I now have no eyelashes and want to hide because it's embarrassing. I've had lash extensions for almost two years and never ever lost my natural lashes until yesterday. My lash girls, I'm begging you. If you want to keep your natural lashes do not go to Mia's Salon in Frog level unless you want to have zero lashes and pay over $90 for it. I was seeking a stylist who understands older women who like shorter hair. Doesn't mean we want to look like a man's shaved cut! Feminine, but shorter. After reading reviews, I decided to give Mia Salon Spa a call. Scheduled an appt with Tristan. First thing he said to me upon my arrival was that I can style your cut so it is feminine and will look great on you. He was right! I love the cut! Actually, it is a style, not just a cut! Got my eyebrows microbladed ($400 service= so worth it!) as well as tattoo eyeliner (top and bottom)...Mia nailed all of this effortlessly. She was a gracious professional- warm and competent. Tristan was also a gem on her staff- knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. He took time to answer all of my questions regarding these procedures. Went in for a Brazilian and half leg wax which I get from different salons on a regular basis and have never had an issue. Not sure if the wax temperature was wrong, the quality of the wax was bad or if it was a problem with the application and removal but my skin is on fire. Around my lady parts there are what appear to be boils (from where the same place was waxed repeatedly with soft wax where hard wax is ordinarily used) and the same rash burn that is raised on my legs is throughout. She told me that it would subside shortly, but it's been 7 hours and is continuing to swell. The rash burn does not appear to be an allergic reaction as it did not spread, and appears worse in areas that were gone over more than once. Looking to receive a full refund as this is not normal from a wax, causing me pain and embarrassment and is unacceptable as a result that I paid $75 plus a $14 tip. read more

Tristen, is great!! I have a second home here and decided last year after my hairdresser moved and I wasn't having any luck at all , to try having my hair done in Waynesville... so very pleased!! Well this year the same thing... my color was terrible and cut so bad. I was trying to find someone at home but it wasn't working I decided to make an appointment before I even got up here. Boy, I am glad I did!!! Tristen listened to me and in no time I had the best color I've had in a year!!! (Since he did it last) and a great haircut, yes,only what we agreed to... (unlike others, just doing what they want) I have gotten so many compliments about how natural my highlights look and how nicely they are blended!!! Went in for hair cut, gave explicit instructions which were not followed despite warnings he was cutting hair too short, especially at cowlick. I was assured he knew exactly how to cut my hair- i look like Alfalfa on a bad hair day. Find a salon that employs professionals that can listen to customer's wishes. read more

I just finished my pedicure and I am waiting with a hot cup of coffee for my turn for full body massage! My husband is upstairs getting the massage first :) All of the staff is incredibly kind and the service is wonderful. We are from out of town and we're looking for a nice spa package to indulge on. It's a small, cute, and clean salon and spa! The other customers all seem like regulars and really love the owner, Mia. The lady who did my pedicure, Ashley, was super nice and did a great job on my feet (I'm super ticklish but pedicures have become a secret love of mine) Highly recommend to anyone looking for a great relaxing experience with excellent service. I called the salon about 2:30 on a Saturday hoping to get in for a haircut. Tristan answered and said he could fit me in immediately. When I arrived I was warmly greeted and Tristan began my cut. He did an excellent job and I was very pleased. The space was clean and very well decorated. Since.moving from Texas 2 years ago I have been to 4-5 different salons but was never satisfied. Never Again! Don't do areola tattoos here!!! I have stage 4 Breast Cancer. I went to Mia for areola tattoos. She said she did them all the time and showed me lots of pictures. When finished she'd said she hadn't done one in a long time. They looked beautiful for a day. The next day my implants were flat! She ruptured both of them! I had an ultrasound and you can see the holes in my implant in the shape of a nipple. She has never responded to my calls or emails. She just doesn't care. I have the entire session on video and now have to get a lawyer and havemy implants replaced. Beware! read more

I had an appointment for blow dry and make up application for a wedding that evening. Tristan was awesome with hair and most of the makeup application. However, Mia stepped in to finish the makeup. She gave me enormous eyebrows, and applied darker makeup on the outside of my face. When I saw it, I told her I did not like the eyebrows. Her response was I would look great in the photos. I went back to the motel and scrubbed off the eyebrows with only 20 minutes to get ready for the wedding!! Unfortunately, I must give the review only 1 star for this. OMG!!! Incompetent! I went in to have my bangs trimmed AND showed Mia the pic! I walked out looking NOTHING like the picture that I brought in which I had done a few months prior by a real "stylist" in Asheville. In fact, she chopped them down to ONE inch. I truly did not think that you could mess up on bangs but she did. She cut them the way SHE wanted them cut. I told her she didn't know what she was doing and walked out. I have my short hair regularly cut in a large city where the stylists command high rates. Mia gave me one of the best haircuts I've ever had and worked quickly and efficiently.
