What a hidden gem! I attended a conference that was close by and this was the recommended hotel. It is not only beautiful but also has super friendly people. All of my vegan food options were great too.

My husband and I stayed here one night for the BMI Classic Christian Music Festival knowing that we are usually very tired after a long day and the festival ending late. We were grateful that we chose this hotel for our overnight as the proximity was very close (walking distance if you so desire). The ambiance of the hotel is very impressive: posh, upscale and sophisticated- exactly the kind of thing that thrills me. We arrived at 3:00 which is prior to check in, but the staff graciously allowed us early check in. The staff was warm and we were wished a pleasant stay from a staff member not involved with our check in. Upon first glance, the small lobby hints of opulence and graciousness and that theme is consistent throughout the establishment. The hotel offers thoughtfulness in all of their details from the beautiful furniture and art in the rooms to the sensor foot light on the side of the bed to the room spray that lingered in the air. The aor conditioning had been set at a comfortable temperature and a light had been turned on for our arrival. It is clean, modern and well kept. Everything was pure luxury right down to the refreshing shower and gorgeous scented shower soaps. The water is very hot. We were very impressed by this hotel and would recommend it for an overnight stay. We did not visit the restaurant or bar, but if we were here for other reasons we would like to do so. The only downside is that if you are not in the top floor you will hear every footstep of the lodger above you. My advice would be to request a room on the top level to avoid this. We were kept up until 2 am because the party above us decided to get their steps in before bed and it went on for 3 hours. You will hear an occasional train as the hotel is situated right next to the tracks, but it didnt bother us. Also, the hotel does not offer free breakfast as described in your maps search (maybe they did at one time). Every thing is considered an additional charge so be aware of that. We opted to drive to Greenville for breakfast as there is a wide variety of restaurants and a cute donut shop called Bismarck. Overall, this is a wonderful hotel for a special occasion as it is very expensive. We would stay here again though request a room on the top floor.

This restaurant would be a top end restaurant anywhere. We drone to Versailles today just to experience this food based on its great reviews. Those reviews were right. I had pear, smoked blue cheese salad. It had bacon, blue cheese, pears, a bunch of great greens, walnuts and heavenly taste. It was great! Next I had the mussel special. Yup, it's special! They were all sweet and delicious! Served with a meals worth of sautéd veggies and one heavenly broth. I could eat this every day for a month! My wife had the tuna special. Tuna was perfect, cooked perfect and awesome. She wasn't thrilled with the veggies that came with it. As Arnold said, "I'll be back"

Silas restaurant in Hotel Versailles completely exceeded my expectations. My daughter has an allium intolerance which makes eating out almost impossible but she contacted them about menu possibilities. We were able to celebrate her 30th birthday with an amazing meal. Our server, Angie, was so kind and took the time to check on other options. The chefs did all they could to provide her with a great meal. She is usually disappointed by the lack of care from other restaurants but not Silas. I haven't seen her so happy at a restaurant since her intolerance was diagnosed. The roasted Brussel sprouts were delicious and different, my side salad had chunks of pumpkin in it and I was so surprised I liked that since I'm not a pumpkin fan. The desserts were amazing too. I'm not a fan of carrot cake which my daughter got but I snuck a bite and couldn't believe how light and fluffy and perfect it was! Sourcing local ingredients is a plus and the ambiance of the restaurant is wonderful. I'd give them ten stars if I could. This place has heart.

One of my all time favorite places to take my wife out for dinner. The food is absolutely amazing. Service is great. Atmosphere is very upscale. I would recommend going to this place to anyone.

Seasonal pumpkin cake with vanilla bean gelato ... seriously addicting.

We ordered the small plate of buffalo milk burrata- who knew that dish could be so delicious. The grapefruit paired perfectly with the flavors of the herbs and the creamy burrata provided a great depth of flavor. Filet mignon was seasoned perfectly and cooked exactly as requested. The crisp potatoes were a delightful addition to the dish. The walleye was moist and had a wonderful crispy skin. The pickled onions provided a nice acidity to the dish paired with the blueberry sauce which was absolutely my favorite! The cornbread was a little dry but that's my only criticism from the entire dinner. For dessert we ordered the lemon blueberry meringue. All the best flavors in a large enough portion for three people to share. They even provided complimentary chocolates which our 5 year old devoured! Would absolutely revisit!

Versailles is about 20-25 minutes away and Silas was worth the trip for their Sunday morning brunch. For starters, its very cost effective at $15/head with a buffet featuring french toast casserole, herbed eggs, coffee cake, bacon, etc. The space is gorgeous - from the lighting to the floor to ceiling windows to the fact that they have Molton Brown soap in the bathroom (luxxxxurrry). Overall, the brunch was a very smooth and lovely experience topped off with a solid coffee menu. I opted for the drip coffee - wish I knew where there beans were from? Guessing local-ish based on the quality. My only complaint was that they had a hard time keeping the buffet options full so it was hit or miss when you'd go up to the bar. Minor feedback. Look forward to visiting for lunch or dinner in the future!

At the western edge of Ohio is the town of Greenville, home to the Green Wave, an awesome consignment store, and one of the most delightful restaurants I've ever been to - Jack's Cabin. Co-owned by Jeremy (J) and Carisa (C), and staffed by their son Austin (A) and Kaylie (K), this is the quintessential family restaurant. I enjoyed their corned beef and eggs, amazing fried flounder and cod - and before heading out from my two day respite in Greenville - their Philly Cheesesteak Skillet. Every dish was a hit, hot, and the perfect comfort foods were one to camp indoors. And like a true family restaurant, I felt fair prices all around, such that I kept coming back and tipping in turn instead! Alongside the black bears that peek all around the room, each table also has a personalized figurine featuring camping awesomeness like fishing, wildlife, and just a general vibe of nature. And hey, with $3.50 Yeunglings, I may have found Baltimore's Ohio sister city. Thank you Jack's Cabin for the amazing, entertaining experience. And Congratulations on your engagement, Kaylie!!!

They were in the fryer so long they were practically charred. The cole slaw seemed almost puréed. My wife ordered grilled chicken tenders. They came out fried and overly cooked. She thought at first bite that they were fish because of the taste. I ordered fish, so it is obvious that everything was fried in the same basket. And the grease/oil has needed to be changed for quite a while. My fish tasted bland and mostly if burnt oil. The fries were over saturated and tasted just like the bland fish. My mother ordered a tenderloin sandwich that also looked burnt to a crisp. Lesson learned here: order NOTHING that goes into a fryer. And apparently order nothing grilled, because it will get fried, too. The wait staff was brand new and was having some trouble figuring out our order. There didn't seem to be any shadowing or training happening. It took a long time for our main dishes to arrive. We did like the unique decor and overall appearance of the restaurant, but that's about the only thing I can give them credit for.
