Friend ordered the special burger (jalapeño bacon jam) medium rare. Came out over cooked, dry, flavorless and not even lukewarm. Chips served with burger were burnt. I ordered another special - bbq pork on mac-n-cheese. The pork was good and if you like cheese sauce from a can overcooked pasta with soggy undercooked onion rings on top then this is your dish!! Needless to say we cannot understand how Tollys stays in business but then where else is there in Greenville to eat? Sloopys - go there and get good burgers and decent pizza. read more

Heard about this place from some friends and finally made my way in to try out the food for a Saturday lunch. I ordered the old fashioned fried pork chops and mash. It was quite delicious. The breading was crispy and the gravy was full of flavor! Husband got the pizza burger, it was fine but nothing to write home about. Such a large menu, it is hard to choose what to eat! We warmed up with jalapeño poppers and loaded tots. I had the small portion of the Buffalo chicken salad and that was a perfect portion size. This place is know for huge portions, so plan to share or to take food home. Everyone loved their food. Only weird comment: we had a party of eight, and for some reason the waitress would not write anything down. So she literally came back to our table 3 separate times and had us all repeat our order. The guys that I was with after the third time, literally said, do they not have paper and pens for her what in the world is going on? I think it's a cool thing when a waitress can totally remember an order, but it starts to give everybody anxiety that nothing is going to go well when she comes back for the third time to ask for your order because she won't use a notepad... Had not been to this establishment in about a year and was not impressed. Soda was $4.25 each so for two seniors $8.50 just for your drinks! I decided on the daily special which was chicken strips, with chips $9.99 I decided to go with an upcharge of $4.99 for fries and coleslaw=$19.23 I was surprised with the price of a soda and would have been okay with the price of my meal except that the chicken fingers had the oddest smell to them, as if deep fried in old, saved oil. The fries were somewhat soft and grease laden, the best tasting was the coleslaw! My husband ordered the tenderloin sandwich with chips $12.99 and went with upcharge of $4.99 for fries and coleslaw=$17.98+4.25 soda =$22.23, final bill =$41.46 He mentioned the tenderloin was okay and the fries were same. It is true the portions are quite large and I understand everyone has different taste, possibly another individual would have enjoyed this meal, just not for me. read more

The first clue that this place is worthy was that people were waiting in their cars for it to open. The menu is 12 pages! We started with crab Rangoon and piggy pub chips. The Rangoon was served with a raspberry sauce and they were really great. The chips had pulled pork with a BBQ sauce and they were awesome as well. I had a smokin hot pub burger. It's a big burger! Mildly hot Mayo sauce made it interesting but it was cooked well done and I asked for medium. In spite of that, it disappeared very quickly! My son had a Reuben. Toasted white bread (should be rye?) corned beef piled high, good kraut. Overall, a very good Reuben. Service was very fast and correct. We were in and out in 30 min. Gastropub is absolutely accurate for this establishment. What an extensive menu! Asian apps, calzones, Cuban sandwich, pork chops, meatloaf, Italian, and more. I'd heard about the huge serving size but when they quickly brought out the crab Rangoon app, I'm thinking it was a typical app size. (Very tasty too.) That was probably the exception because then came the shrimp cocktail- oh my goodness, I think there were more than TEN shrimp, and big ones, icy cold and firm with a nice spicy cocktail sauce. Definitely recommended. The Philly cheesesteak was stuffed to bursting, crazy huge. It was served in a basket, which I never like, and in this case it was actually impossible to pick up the sandwich until I opened it and ate about a third of the filling with a fork. Plenty to take home but didn't do too well microwaved unfortunately. The main dining room is mostly tables with a couple or three booths. The bar is nicely set apart and seats about a dozen. Right behind the barstool backs are some 2-seater booths. This is nice because you can be pretty assured your bar experience won't be spoiled by a table full of children nearby. The space between these small booths and the bar is pretty narrow and busy waitresses with big trays are moving rapidly through, so do be careful as you're getting up. The lighting in the bar is low, as it should be. Our bartender was fantastic. I'm sorry I've forgotten his name. It was a Saturday afternoon. He was just constantly on the move, greeting, taking orders, mixing drinks, answering questions, making small talk, delivering food, managing to be super attentive to everyone, and all with a smile! Clearly a man who loves his job and knows how to treat people. We also met the manager whose name I believe is Vicki, who is also a true professional and clearly focused on customer satisfaction. This was not our first time here. We couldn't have been more disappointed when we took friends there for an early dinner. The wait was very long, and we had to wait in our car. The hostess was pleasant and very overwhelmed. The waitress was very rude and impatient. My friend asked what was in the meatloaf, and her response was, "It's a secret." The great thing about Tolly's is that you always get enough food for two or three dinners. The servers are friendly. The place seems clean. The music is bad and there are large amounts of dead airtime where you can hear everyone else taking and eating. If you order the lasagna, just know that you will be getting lasagna soup. It literally comes out in a large overfilled bowl and is mostly just cheese and sauce. Not much pasta at all. It also tastes freezer burnt. Not recommended. Fries were not good either. read more

Start with the good. The place was clean and our server was friendly. We got chips with nacho cheese for an appetizer. The chips were good. I got a pork bbq sandwich. It tasted good... It hasd onion rings in it which were excellent. it was hard to pick up so it became a fork and knife hell. For the average part: The cheese with the chips tasted like it came right out of a can. Not bad just not great. Now for the not so good... As we entered there was an unpleasant smell... Like stale cigarette...we did see an employee smoking in the gated outdoor eating area. Half the lights were off for the first 10 minutes of the meal requiring a flash light to read the menu until they turned the rest of the lights on. Service was slow at each step. The fish we ordered was not cooked properly. Tasting like microwaved dried freezer fish. In summary: For the quality, the prices were too high. My thought is the menu is too big... Trying to do too much. If they picked a few things and did those great, it would be better. P.s. We noticed the majority of other customers opted for some sort of salad.. Today it was a chicken salad that was huge and delicious except for the deep fried chicken strips that were too hard and dried out and tough to eat. I was confused by the lack of quality of their tough chicken strips. They must have changed suppliers that use old birds that have a tendency to be that way. I ate everything but the chicken strips. This place is awesome! Huge menu and so far in a couple visits nothing has disappointed. The portions are large but there's no lack of quality because of the quantity. The poutine was phenomenal ehh! And when they bring out the Applewood smoked chop everyone at the table just looks at each other in disbelief. Bring a big appetite or you will be taking some home. I also think the pricing is great. We enjoyed 2 appetizers, 4 meals and 11mixed drinks with our total coming to $166 and every person took a to go box home with enough for lunch the next day. read more

07/09/21 ... after a long hiatus I decided to nip in for dinner. It was deja vu all over again ... excellent food, however the experience was marred by the loud mouth twat waffle behind the bar. A very large, and lively crowd when I arrived with people queuing for tables, and all I can hear is her mouth flapping behind the bar. ‍ While I seriously doubt the owners or management read the reviews of their establishment, and mores the pity. Love this place today was the worst experience we have had though, lukewarm French Onion Soup, dry no flavor Cole slaw and burnt pickles. Our waitress was bossy and rude, plus forgot to give us our to go order. Yes that's partially our fault too for also forgetting but she should have brought it to the table when we paid the bill ‍ So we didn't get our 13$ salad, would have went back but live to far away. Went here on recommendation of someone we're doing business with and it was overall a great experience. The only thing which causes me to give it less than 5 stars was the fact that the pizza was overly salty, and it was a very long wait for the food to arrive. The portions are HUGE, like each meal is enough for the entire table of 4 to split & be satisfied. The chips & salsa were superb. Tortilla chips had been freshly made, and the salsa was delicious & unique. Prices are amazing based upon portion size & quality of food. Atmosphere is very bar-like, but the customers were just a bunch of families enjoying lunch. I imagine it might get rougher at different times. The menu is EXTENSIVE. No idea how they can make all of that work, but the things we ordered were sure on point! Looking forward to trying many more things here!! read more

Me and the fam decided to eat here. We had planned it for well over a mth! We were worried the weather would had stopped us cuz we live 50 mins away! I could eat here every weekend for the drive the food is worth the wait as well for a table! The portion is well worth the money and yes mostly everyone walks out with a to go box!
