Worse yet, once canceled by State Farm, no other major insurer will cover you, because of State Farm's fictional "high risk" designation, even though you have done nothing to create any increased risk to them or any other auto insurer. You then are at the mercy of predatory insurers of last resort that charge two or even three times your former car insurance rate. And then, when you are forced to pay these predatory rates because state law requires that you have auto insurance, you are afraid to make any claim at all, for fear of losing your insurance coverage yet again. What's the point of paying thousands of dollars a year for auto insurance if you can't file claims, even as a victim? The auto insurance is rigged against us. State Farm and it's partners in crime are corrupt predators. They add insult to injury, even after you have suffered the hardships resulting from claims where other drivers were at fault.

I had purchased my first auto policy with Progressive following our move from another state…read more Towards the end of the policy period I found a better rate with another insurer and when I called and spoke to the Progressive representative to cancel my policy I was told that this would not be a problem and my remaining 30 day premium would be refunded. While this was true I also was charged $75 to cancel the policy with only 30 days remaining. Although I was given an apology by a Progressive supervisor saying that their rep should have advised me of the fee before cancellation they would not restore the $75 fee. I certainly don't think they acted in good faith in regard to this issue.
