That was the last time I went to them. My insurance covers the treatments, and my new chiropractor told me " how would they know how many treatments you need a year ahead of time? Why isn't your insurance paying anything?" They tried to put me under a payment plan too, and I wasn't going for it, not to mention there's too many people for the appointment, I had the first appointment and there was 4 people already waiting too, too much marketing for this office and not enough patient care/quality time. I have had 4 chiropractors, not including this office in that time and I just moved here. First of all its really loud for a chiropractic office. Sitting in a really loud space where the employees yell to greet you when your trying to be calm and serene is frustrating. Second, while your sitting waiting WATCH the adjustment they give others and you'll see its the same adjustment they give you, unless you bring up an issue. I've been to other chiropractors who have the same open concept and they definitely never did the exact same adjustment on me that they gave to my kids or other patients. This office runs at a really fast pace. I did ask the front desk person if they could slow it down when I'm in there and she said that this place wasn't for me when I brought up my concerns. I was told they will not slow it down when I am in there for my adjustment and that they always run at this fast pace. Last, they never contacted my last chiropractor or asked for my records. To me that tells me they dont care. EVERY CHIROPRACTOR I have ever been to asks for the former chiropractors records. This helps to understand previous care and review previous X-rays to see if there have been improvements. When I brought this up I was asked if I wanted the chiropractor to have my records. REALLY? The fact they didn't care to see my previous records had me stunned. How are you going to taylor my adjustment to MY needs without seeing my past records? It will take loads of adjustments for them to get to know where my issues lie, if they even care. They didn't even take or type notes in my 3 sessions for their records when I looked at the computer to see what was up there. Last, my daughter has been going here for about a year and she even stated they do the same adjustment on her the exact same way every time, unless she has a concern. BIG RED FLAGS PEOPLE. Are you getting the right care for your needs? The staff and doctors can be super nice and upbeat, but is that a mask for the factory they are? ??? How can you get people on a track to better health when each person is different and has different chiropractic needs and your giving the exact same adjustment??? How is doing the same adjustment on each patient unique??? In the chiropractic world thats called cookie cutter and its highly frowned upon.

Since I have upper…read morecervical issues, when I discovered Dr. Porter did upper cervical adjustments, I called him several times to check if they take insurance. They don't and they made it sound like they wouldn't give you a receipt with the medical codes so that you could get reimbursed. I have tried to see what their receipts looked like, but their office manager refused to show me one. When a different regular chiropractor referred me to them although I told him not to, they never contacted me to even let me know they had his referral. Eventually, the other chiropractor asked if I had heard from them. I hadn't, so I decided to drive out of my way to find out what was going on. When I arrived, the office manager was very ugly to me. When she had received the referral like a month or so earlier, instead of contacting me, she threw it out. It seems this office manager hadn't liked my earlier phone calls showing an interest in them and my being concerned about getting a receipt that would be valid for my getting reimbursed by my insurance company. She chose instead to argue with me and had no intention of letting me become Dr. Porter's patient because, I guess, she hadn't liked my need for a fileable receipt since I had had no other pervious contact with her. I had my insurance company call them the next day, and she hung immediately up on them. I can't say if Dr. Porter's approach works since I never got to even see or talk to him. Their uncivil and unprofessional behavior, however, turned me off to them anyhow. The Huntsville area could benefit from attracting more upper cervical chiropractors so that we had a healthy choice to chose from and so that we wouldn't be forced into trying to work with an uncooperative and mean spirited practice like this one.

My visit was painless, the staff were professional and friendly, the office itself was comfortable and modern with a happy feel and was super clean with attention to detail such as bright colored foam pieces that almost looked like architectural features on the walls to absorb sound. She texts you a link to complete your medical history online which did take about 20+ minutes since I have a large family, hence a lot of family medical history to disclose. This paid off, as it was convenient, I didn't have to print any documents to take with me, and it was electronically signed on my phone and sent back to their office in plenty of time for my appointment. Dr. Gray herself is happy, pleasant, friendly, and a ball of positive energy! She listened intently, took notes on a small laptop she carried around with her and filled my prescriptions ASAP, which I picked up without issue at Publix. She provided hard-copy referrals for bloodwork, mammograms, etc., and get this - my appointment was on a Saturday -- what MD has Saturday appointments?!?!?!?! I think this was an anomaly, because I had a weekday appointment that was cancelled and the staff called me to reschedule on Sat., stating, "Dr. Gray got a little behind and is working Sat. to get caught up." I noted 12 Sat. patients as I signed in for my appointment. The wait was maybe 15 minutes and I think I spent 30 minutes between talking with her nurse and then Dr. Gray. She also owns a [my words] Medspa, and does procedures such as botox and also weight loss. I think it is called "Better Weighs to Better Health." I [and my sister] liked the fact that she will do your bloodwork in her office for a $10.00 fee, which is a nice feature. She is affiliated with Athens-Limestone hospital which is right across the street. My sister said that, at her recent appointment with the nurse practitioner, the office pictured, was relocating in an adjacent building and had become, or added on an urgent care feature. I don't have any details about this so don't quote me. She was very cautious at getting updated radiology reports before treatment. I'm glad she did because I discovered I had some more serious issues on my cervical spine than I knew. I was in serious pain when I first came and shortly after my adjustment my swelling went down. She also has a massage therapist in the office and she is amazing!!! I've gone twice now for that and 90 min massages help with my tension. She goes above and beyond for her patients.
