Despite being a runner all of my life, by the time I met Dr. Gazsi in 2004, I couldn't even climb a flight of stairs. Debilitating fatigue and muscle weakness impaired my quality of life. I was severely depressed from my symptoms and the lack of medical support I seemed to get when insisting to doctors that "something was really wrong with me". At twenty-six years old, a Rheumatologist finally diagnosed me with "fibromyalgia". I was put on Celebrex to treat (and mask) my pain. Although it did help, it had devastating effects on my stomach, and the fatigue persisted. Shortly after taking Celebrex, health warnings came out about the drug, and the negative effects it had on the heart. I'm a fairly new patient of Dr. Gazsi. And I am already extremely impressed with the Doctor as well as his staff. I was diagnosed with MS about 10 years ago and since then seem to have multiple health issues. My decision to make an appt. to see a Naturopathic Doctor was actually a very easy one. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Gazsi. I'm a 69-yr. old woman and have had several diverticulitis flare ups over the past 13 years. When I consulted Dr. Gazsi after being hospitalized the 2nd time, he gave me a protcol to get my body back to health. More importantly, he gave me advice on what to do if I felt the oncoming diverticulitis discomfort again...massive doses of probiotics + call him! Wish I could say that I was a completely compliant patient - I wasn't or there would have been more flare ups! On Christmas afternoon this December 2013, I could feel the discomfort and a fever setting in. Dr. Gazsi was available to me over the days and weeks to follow, giving me a supplement protocol, keeping track of everything that went into my mouth, tweeking everything once in a while. If I had gone to the hospital, I'd have been put on IV antibiotics for 5 days. And during that time, my nutrition would have been bouillon in hot water, any color jello except red, Italian ices. Mmmmmm, healthy! And then I'd have a huge amount of recovery from all of THAT to do when I got home. INSTEAD, I know my body and how it feels during one of these bouts. I'm not stupid - I had my bag packed and my "emergency person" standing by in case I felt the need to go to the ER. However, I was determined to take care of this without all of that if I could help it. Dr. G was in communication daily...sometimes a few times. I COULDN'T HAVE DONE THIS WITHOUT HIS WISDOM! Besides the 8 Essential Naturals probiotics that I took 3x a day, I had 1 spoonful of Glutamine in water every 3 hours, made HUGE pots of organic chicken broth (put the meat in the freezer for later), juiced fresh, organic apples. A friend supplied me each day with freshly juiced cool greens for 3 days - then I took over and juiced them for myself. I had a couple of spoonfuls of homemade organic applesauce and also a tiny bit of oatmeal. Dr. Gazsi changed a few things once in a while till the fever and the pain went away, when he created a new plan for going forward into bland, soft food. Now, with his direction, I'm even further in my recovery to optimum health - eating a little more solid foods and walking regularly. I have been going to Dr. Gazsi now for over a year. Prior to seeing him, I had gone to regular MDs and they would always treat one issue instead of looking at the big picture - my overall health and what's going on behind the scenes. They would also usually treat with some sort of medicine.
