Thank you for your inquiries:) At present, I am not accepting new insurance clients. I can generate invoices for reimbursement, depending on your insurance plan.

This business is rotten from its core. The administration will cheat and lie to get rid of patients when copays incur regardless of your health condition. They will encourage you to stay only as long as your insurance covers 100% of the cost. A "Safe Discharge" cannot be relied on at all. They will do everything to criminally kick you to the curb before you are medically healthy enough to take care of yourself to avoid copays mounting up. They will bum-rush you out to rent your bed to fresh patients only to avoid billing copays. To top it off, the language and cultural barriers are extremely. Nice workers but confusion is constant. The food sucks and your call lights are ignored. Pray you never experience an emergency. This is your warning... Avoid the San Leandro Healthcare Center.

As I first visited they were renovating the exterior and landscape refresh and I found that to be so important. Residents get to look out their windows and enjoy something fresh and beautiful to look at. Other first impressions were multiple air filtration systems outside the doors of every room. Not sure if that was a 'leftover' from COVID kind of thing or what - but I liked it. Shared rooms were small and good to know is only two visitors at a time. It's hard to imagine it but the reason is purely for function. Placing 3 chairs around I think would be very difficult to navigate anymore. Luckily for those who might not like shared rooms - singles are available. If you've been saving money all your life and here - this might just be the time to spend a little extra if you don't like people around. My friend's neighbor was a pleasant person - and that's what I've found going to these types of places - its not bad to have another nearby... If your friend or family member is here its your job to visit. People make up excuses and there really is no excuse. I was able to slip in 30 minutes before closing after work and anybody can do that. I think visitors are an important part of recovery. You can't visit your friend or your mom? Just keep the excuses to yourself I don't want to hear it.

She complained about having to see me at the time I called her, even though she had scheduled the appointment with me. If you're keeping score, that means she was able to keep 25% of the appointments she booked with me over the course of a single month. I should mention that I took a half-day off work for each of these appointments (the issues I deal with are such that I will get extremely emotional if I talk about them, it's really embarrassing to be around other people when it happens), so in addition to wasting my time and energy, Karyn also wasted my PTO, and thus money. After the last appointment I informed Karyn that I was going to be unable to make the next two weeks of appointments because I was going on a vacation to Alaska, so no internet service. She decides to take this moment to lecture me about how these appointments are in high demand and that I shouldn't expect her to hold a time slot for me. Now if you're thinking, "wait a minute, where does this person get off lecturing someone else about their attendance when they can't be professional enough to keep an appointment they make", we're on the same page. I can't be sure of this and at the time I thought I was being paranoid, but given her subsequent behavior I just don't know; I swear that she was washing dishes while on the phone with me during my intake appointment. I can't be sure because when she did actually show up to the appointments, she couldn't get her video chat to work. To cap it off, when I was in Alaska, she calls me and asks me if I'm planning on making my appointment. After all that she STILL couldn't keep her schedule straight. I told her then that I would be looking for a new provider. Absurdly unprofessional behavior. I don't remember her name, but there was an admin person I interacted with when Karyn no showed and she was very polite and helpful for whatever that's worth.

My work life has improved, my marriage has improved, I finally know how to set healthy boundaries and I have more confidence that I have ever had in my life! She was careful to explain how she works through trauma with a client so I'd know what to expect. She gave me assignments or ideas of things to work on that were practical, not overwhelming and pointed out the progress, which encouraged me to continue the journey. I went from weekly sessions to every other week, and now I'm able to call her if I need "booster" sessions. While I'm so happy with my where I am, I'll miss having her weekly encouragement. But it shouldn't have taken 3 weeks to resolve the issue. Horrible communication and inability to correct a mistake on their end. I needed a TB test for grad school and a lot of urgent cares didn't take insurance for the test. When I made the appointment on June 4th, the person I spoke with said they take my insurance. When I arrived for the test on June 8th, I was told the test wasn't covered by insurance and was $69. Since I needed the test for school, I just paid the fee and it was a little lower than some other places. However, they should have told me at the time of booking so I could have been prepared to pay or go elsewhere. The bigger issue is that they haven't refunded the $50 fee I was charged when I filled out my information online. The online portal just asked for my card info but nowhere did it say I'd be charged a fee. When I went to get my results read on 6/10/26, I showed the receptionist a screenshot from my bank account and she said that was a no show fee and they would refund it since I showed up to my scheduled appointments. When I check my bank account two days later, I don't see the refund. I've made several calls and the people I talk to keep saying they'll look into the issue yet my bank account doesn't show the refund. One person I talked to said I shouldn't have been charged the NSF because I had a TB test, not appt. It shouldn't take 3 weeks to refund the fee and am seriously considering taking City Health to small claims court. The person who did my TB test was friendly but I would not go back to City Health due to the above issues.
