We were looking to do a refi of our home and were comparing rates and terms of the big banks (Wells Fargo and B of A etc.). The day we were going to select between them, I had the thought of contacting the Real Estate agent who helped us buy our house. He suggested we call Michael and see what his rate might be. To cut to the chase: he was more that 1/2 a percentage point lower than any of the big banks with little closing costs and a closing in under 30 days. Michael is the best that there is in the mortgage broker business. I needed to refinance my home loan and I really did my homework. I spoke with some of the brokers that I had worked with in the past and I spoke directly with some of the banks as well. Michael and his team were flawless, helping us with pre-approval letters while we were putting in offers on homes (sometimes with only a few hours of notice that we needed a letter before an offer deadline) and they continued to work tirelessly once we had an offer accepted. They went from pre-approval to a funded loan in a week, we were able to close on our purchase in 15 calendar days!! His team member Jessica Ellis stayed on top of making sure we had all the correct paperwork to her on time, sometimes through several rounds of emails and phone calls to clarify EXACTLY what she needed from a given document or account statement. I was recently able to compare the mortgage refinance process between both Michael as well as a very large national bank. Michael offered a competitive rate, and compared to the large national bank, Michael and his loan processor, Jessica, were far and above better than the large national bank. They worked at light speed, never dropped the ball, and were very professional and courteous throughout. It took Michael and Jessica about two weeks to close after I got them all the documentation, and their communications were always clear, efficient, and helpful. In contrast, the large national bank moved at a glacial pace, taking two months to close after I gave them a complete set of documentation. Communication and coordination were poor and confusing. On at least four occasions the large national bank failed to anticipate the need for some paperwork or signature until the last minute and then contacted me in the afternoon asking for same day turn around--giving me just an hour or two to coordinate signature collection from me and my wife while we were both at work. Further, they made numerous mistakes during the process and there were also a couple instances where they simply lost documents or information that I had already submitted. The process with Michael and Jessica was error and frustration free. It's always in your best interest to shop around for the best mortgage rates, but definitely call Michael. His rates are competitive rate and his service is impeccable. You won't be disappointed. read more

We recently moved to the Bay Area (after only being gone a year) and found a house to purchase relatively quickly. My agent recommended Michael Haigh at WJ Bradley as someone who has always done a great job and could get the job done. She trusted him completely! Michael and his team were very organized and pleasant through the entire process. Initially Michael quoted me a very good and competitive rate with an outside lender, but before we finalized on the house and locked in a rate, the rate jumped. Although we had started filling out paperwork with the original lender, Michael did not hesitate to drop that lender and change lenders and lock us in at the lower rate with the new lender. I also asked him to confirm that we would be able to release our loan contingency within our contingency period without an issue. He said "yes" and also said that the moment he told us to release our contingency he could fund the next day if we needed. I had never heard that and had worked with lenders in the past with lots of bureaucracy. The day before close when I dropped our check off at the Title Company, I was informed that the lender was already in the process of funding our loan. They said this was not typical as the lender typically likes to make sure the buyers' funds are there before they fund. So, in short, WJ Bradley made sure that the entire process went very smoothly and I would not hesitate to use Michael Haigh and his team again! read more
