Its also a bit expensive but your are guaranteed that the quality of the product is better than other competitors. I do like this particular store, its not too busy and well merchandise. The entire store looks amazing and alive. The visual decor is spot on and everything is cohesive. The brand offers an assortment of women's, men's and children's apparel and accessories, including swimwear, outerwear, loungewear, wedding, bags, accessories, belts, jewelry, and shoes. Sale items are located at the end of the store. Usually they are placed in one corner. The sale signages are not visible so I suggest you ask the staff. Without a doubt the staff here is very polite and accommodating. I've been here many times and I've noticed that they greeted each and every customer that comes in to the store with a warm welcoming smile.

As soon as you have more than one piece of clothing in your hands, someone will come by and offer to start you a dressing room. It doesn't stop there. For people who are slightly fashion challenged like me, they will give their opinions on the outfits you try on, create outfits for you, and recommend a tailor if need be. I'm not sure if this is the case in the other J. Crews, but it certainly hasn't been offered to me anywhere else.

It wasn't just a mall, it was a backdrop for so many memories. I still remember when it had Rainforest Café and Johnny Rockets, those were absolute staples of any visit. There was even a Sanrio store at one point, that had planko, which felt like a little slice of joy every time I walked in. It really was the mall of my time growing up. Some of my favorite memories include visiting Santa during the holidays, catching movies with friends and family, and just spending afternoons wandering around when going to the mall was a real treat, not just an errand. Not to mention using the photobooth before "selfies" were a thing. They even had a bounce house and play area which was so much fun as a child. It's definitely bittersweet seeing it close. While it's not quite what it once was, it still holds so many good memories for so many people. A solid four stars for everything it was at its peak and for the nostalgia it leaves behind. An end of an era, but one worth remembering.

They were happily riding the escalator, and I was taking a simple video of them on my phone. To my surprise, a security guard stopped me and told me that videotaping was not permitted. At first I didn't even realize she was speaking to me because she was mumbling from a distance. When I continued recording my children, she approached again and more firmly told me that no videotaping was allowed. What made the experience so frustrating is that the mall is literally days away from closing. The building was largely empty, my children were simply riding the escalator, and I was recording family memories--not conducting a commercial photo shoot or disrupting anyone. Meanwhile, there have been photographers and members of the media documenting the mall's final days. The whole interaction felt unnecessary and unwelcoming. Instead of leaving with fond memories of one last visit to MacArthur Center, I left feeling scolded for recording my own children in an almost-empty mall that will no longer exist in a matter of days. Consumer habits may have changed over the years, but experiences like this certainly don't encourage people to return. It was a disappointing way to end what should have been a nostalgic final visit.

I've been hearing about this company that makes unique bags out of recycled materials. What's so…read moregreat about this? Well, these bags are created using recycled plastic water bottles, pineapple leaf fiber and billboard vinyl. And what's so awesome about that is that it's from our very own city Norfolk that those recycled items are from! These bags range from travel bags, backpacks, crossbody bags, wallets, and other accessories. They also have clothing now. No two bags are the same. My daughter and I came to this store inside MacArthur on a Saturday afternoon. They had so many types and designs of their bags we were at a loss for words. Their new line of crossbody earth bags come in different colors. I fell in love with the mustard colored bag (so did my daughter) we both bought the same one! The billboards and plastic water bottles they recycle to make these gorgeous bags are from our local area! What other reason do you need to buy these bags? Go online and check them out! There's a bag for everyone; regardless of what you're into.

Hamilton Perkins Collection exists to create timeless limited edition bags made from recycled plastic water bottles, pineapple leaf fiber, and billboard vinyl. The result is that no two bags are ever the same. Our first design, the Earth Bag Premium, was created so that our customers would not only carry a bag that was stylish but carry a bag they could be proud of. We surveyed more than 1,000 consumers to obtain their thoughts and feedback for each component of the Earth Bag Premium, which soon became one of our most popular designs. Perkins was the winner of the Virginia Velocity Tour hosted by the Governor of Virginia, and the recipient of a HUD Community Development Block Grant.
