I asked her in the begging if credit would be an issue/ if I needed a co-signer. She insisted I didn't need to worry about credit/ get a cosigner. I was told to apply and that I would be screened through "orca", a third party screening service. She told me that even though I had bad credit at the moment, her office would override the rejection from Orca in Regard to credit because I have a good job, money saved etc. I feel like I was scammed by a sales person... I spent $ on the application and went through hours of filling out and gathering paperwork because I was sure I could rent the property I was looking at... Just to get rejexted by her office with NO explanation. AND I was not given the opportunity to use a cosigner.. which doesn't seem fair at all. Upon calling for an explanation for her office rejecting my application, she "couldn't legally give that information to me"..? Steer clear of misinformation. I would not trust Ever using this office again.

Regretfully, this agency at times condones their agents' behavior, which do not support the…read moreclients' interests and/or property rights. From my experience, the most egregious was condoning my listing agent's behavior of going into the house around 3 pm during the last day of the rent-back agreement, which ended at 9 pm, while I was in the process moving to Anacortes with the intention of hauling away everything away that the buyer did not want to the dump without my knowledge or permission. As a result, the protocol of a Final Walk Through by the selling agent was suspended and my things that were accidentally left behind or didn't fit into the truck/cars were dumped as well. My suggestion would be to find an agency that has more integrity.

Never felt that she was on top of anything and her suggestions and recommendations did not seem to be in our best interests. Initially she listed our house @ 100,000 over market value. We did question that before signing but she was adamant that was a good price. Decided she is one of those agents who "Buy your listing" by suggesting high price and then subtly suggests that you lower price constantly. She brought in what she said was a "qualified" buyer for a lease option and, when buyer wasn't paying or following guidelines, Carol constantly recommended that we do what it would take to make this nonpaying buyer "happy", as they were young and didn't know any better and would only be more difficult if we enforced our rights as owners. Ending up having to evict the nonpayer. By the end, we terminated Carol's service and found a selling agent who did represent us well. Extremely disappointed over the wasted time and money. The listing, when properly priced by another agent, sold quickly. Would never recommend Carol as a selling agent.

She has a wealth of local knowledge and local contacts for contracting all the different jobs that we will be needing as we move forward with developing our property. I am now a tenant managed by this company…read more 1 star for: I really am not going to say what I would like to say for fear that the next 1 year will be miserable in retaliatory actions so I will keep my mouth shut. We will see if this experience improves. I am hoping for my sake and theirs that it does. So far not a good reputation. I hope they can find a way to work better with their potential renters/buyers as well as their current tenants. Communication with the correct information is key and so far is lacking. 3 stars for: I will say that it does seem that they will be acting upon requests in a timely manner as I needed some work on the house done before I move in and they are already on it. They also have accommodated me pretty well in moving my 'move in' date up by a week. I am hoping for the best but like I said have already run into some 'attitude'. This brings me to the average of 2 stars "Meh. I've experienced better". Will update as the time goes on. They actually wanted to charge us $150 for a dead fly in between window panes, and despite having written documentation that the house was not cleaned when we moved in (including carpets), they tried to take hundreds from us even though we left the house immaculate upon move out (when we had in writing we didn't need to). It took the owners (whom we knew) to step in and straighten it all out. They also did an illegal "inspection" at the one year mark, where they came in looked in cabinets and took pictures of our personal property! The funny thing is, they don't realize how they are losing potential real estate buyers.... I would NEVER use ANY JL Scott for a RE transaction nor recommend them to anyone after this experience. Don't walk.... RUN from this company.
