This is an office that will bribe you to leave them a 5-star review. They will give you several gifts and smile and act all sophisticated; however, they are dishonest. They will do services they know are not covered and ask you to pay. They will tell you that you have several cavities when you don't. They will find something for you to get done when you don't need it. Over three visits, I was told I needed 3 crowns when I needed 1. Unless you're planning to get a second opinion, beware and don't be fooled.

I made an appointment 2 days later for the extraction (they could have even done next day, but I was unavailable). As soon as I sat down in the chair, I was a jittery little ball of anxiety. It was my first time having anything more than a filling. The assistants were amazing! Explained everything in the post-op instructions, answered any questions I had, and numbed my mouth up. But I'm still nervous. Then the dentist comes in: "Ready? If you ever need me to stop for any reason, just raise your hand." He grabs a little tool from the tray. I clench my fists. I curl my toes. And I open my mouth. "Before we get started," he says, as he reaches in, "I'll tell you this. The one thing you can do to help me is to not open your mouth fully.. close it a little and it'll be easier for me and more comfortable for you. Yeah, like that. You see how it doesn't hurt when I push on the inside of your cheek now?" He does that a couple times to show me, and he's right. "And the other thing you can do to help is fight against me when I push on your tooth. Like this. When I push like this, you push back. Yep, just like that. And we're done. If you want to see your tooth, it's right here on the table." This master of distraction did the whole dang procedure while he was giving me the instructions! It honestly felt like magic. I had quite a few cavities "in between my teeth" despite the fact that i don't drink coffee or soda ever, I eat pretty well, and floss everyday. I decided to get 4 of the 18 they said I had filled. After my cleaning, I made an appointment for the fillings. I ended up having to work that day, so I rescheduled about a month or two later. When I came in for that new appointment, the technician cleaned my teeth again and tried to let me go! I informed her I was there to get fillings done, and the woman at the front desk was very confused until she saw that I was right as I had just had a cleaning about two months prior. They told me I couldn't get my fillings done that day, even though they messed up so I'd have to come back. I went and got the fillings done and all seemed fine. I was quoted $106 for all four fillings after my insurance was taken into account. However when I received my bill, it's was over $250. That's a big discrepancy. I called to ask why that estimate was so off and I was told that the amount they estimate isn't always accurate. After doing my own investigating, I found that they charged my insurance way more per tooth than they told me they would in the estimate. I was then told that if I wanted to see what the actual amount was per tooth, I had to request that information myself and it would not be provided to me voluntarily by North College Dental. If I went into Walmart and wanted to purchase a gallon of milk, I shouldn't have to ask the cashier how much the milk actually is if the price tag they provided said $1.99! I have a coworker who I recommended to visit this dentist that had a similar subpar experience with billing. Not long after I got the teeth filled, I was in excruciating pain because the fillings were not shaved down properly, so I had to come in again to get that fixed. I was told it would take up to 6 months to lose sensitivity in a new filling, but here I am almost a a year later and it doesn't feel much better than it did when I went in. I can say that they provided me a $5 Starbucks gift card for recommending a friend so that's a nice gesture, and slightly ironic. Way to encourage bad eating habits by providing me free coffee and sugary drinks. I'll be seeking a new dentist.

Went in for a very painful tooth from a botched filling by another dentist. When I expressed…read moreconcern w/Dr. Brooke Adler's recommended treatment plan, and wanted to discuss it some more, Dr. Adler became frustrated and lifted my seat and took off her mask and said "it seems like you don't want to follow through with my recommended treatment". I explained that I did desperately need to be treated, because I was in a lot of pain and my insurance, which covered the cost of the treatment, was expiring that week. Then she said that there wasn't time to do any treatment that day (even though she had just told me she could treat me and I had confirmed multiple times before when setting up the appointment that there would be time). All of this happened within the span of about 5-10 minutes. I said that I had made an appointment specifically for treatment that day (and had taken the time off and moved things around for the treatment). Then Dr. Adler said she would go talk to her office manager. When Dr. Adler came back a few minutes later, she asked me to get up and follow her. I asked if I was going to be treated, and she would only answer "The office manager will explain everything." When I arrived at the manager's office, Dr. Adler quickly left me there. The office manager handed me a referral from Dr. Adler to go see another dentist. I told the office manager that I had told Dr. Adler I did want to move forward with her treatment plan, because there wasn't time to go see another dentist that week. The office manager was arrogant and rude, and refused to help me be seen before my insurance expired. I was so devastated. I had never experienced a doctor or dentist refusing to treat me, or someone acting so petty and smug about withholding treatment from me. This was all bad enough. But then 2 days later, I received a 'Cease and Desist' letter from Pure Zen's attorney stating that if I didn't remove the negative reviews I had posted on Yelp and Google following my experience, that Pure Zen and Dr. Adler would SUE ME for defamation and 'emotional distress' caused by my bad reviews. This added insult to injury, as I was the one who had actually been hurt by this whole situation. I was (and still am) the one in pain and Pure Zen are the ones who were in the wrong. If anything, I should have been suing them! But I had wasted enough stress and mental energy on them already. I responded that I knew my rights and the defamation laws and that businesses cannot win lawsuits against consumers for recounting true experiences with them online. Their attorney began to argue back and forth with me about this via email for several hours the evening before NYE, and stated that if I did not remove the reviews, then they would sue me and I would need to hire a lawyer to defend myself. They were basically trying to bully me with the threat of significant legal expenses to take down my review. When I continued to refuse, citing that my statements were true and that I would defend myself in court if necessary, Pure Zen's attorney replied that she's "looking forward" to suing me and that she may also pursue defamation charges against her law firm (Taft), though I had not mentioned her law firm anywhere online before this. This put me under tremendous stress and anxiety that negatively impacted my holiday weekend, and has continued to stress me out these last few weeks. Ordinary people should not have to worry about companies and medical practices making them go broke if they refuse to allow their right to free speech be taken away from them. It's a form of legal extortion that is wrong and something I would never expect from a medical professional. So far, I have not received any court filing notice, so hopefully this group has come to their senses and dropped their outrageous legal threat against me. It is amazing to me that they didn't just apologize, own up to their mistakes, and work with me to come up with a resolution to get me treated. That's what any good practice would have done. I just hope that no one else has to go through this.

He recently had two crowns crafted for a couple molars, and when they were ready to apply, they fit perfectly. He has a remarkable gift for applying novocain where the injection caused no pain, and when the procedure was completed, like magic, the numbness was no longer present. His staff are all wonderful, extremely helpful, and exude an air of positivity. If I could give more stars, I would.

I was blessed genetically with good teeth, & took care of them, so I could procrastinate for a loooonggg time ... until I really HAD to find a new place. Started going in early 2023 when I felt a decades-old filling starting to deteriorate. Had Tanya as hygienist and Nick Catton DDS, & his assistant. Got cleaned up and fixed up in two appointments. Every person at the Carmel office is truly great to see. And now I WANT to go to the dentist, and am maxing out as much as insurance allows -- a visit every six months. I'd actually like to go more often.

When I found that Dr. Mark Bohnert had hired two of the very trusted professionals who had assisted Dr. Hayes I decided that I would make an appointment and see how it went. I have now been to see Dr. Bohnert and am very happy with him personally and his office and staff. This is a family dentist's office! If you are looking for a dentist's office that is modern, highly professional, and family friendly I recommend you pay them a visit. I am completely satisfied. I will miss Dr. Hayes. The staff is so nice and the office is gorgeous and clean. I eventually got moved over to Dr. Rachel Thompson who is also amazing. Dr. Rachel Thompson told me last fall I needed to get a crown on a tooth eventually which I never have had to get done so was nervous. I have had sensitivity on that same exact tooth since February and just been so nervous to get a crown done. I just today bit the bullet and got the crown done and so mad I waited so long. Dr. Rachel Thompson executed the whole procedure so flawlessly I didn't feel the shot nor anything during the procedure. Honestly only con of a crown is the price and how long it takes to get done. I recommend Dr. Rachel Thompson as a dentist!
