Having never been to a chiropractor I did…read morenot know of the various treatments a chiropractor can give other than "an adjustment" - bone or spine cracking. I've always heard this is the primary treatment offered. Dr Kevin is pleasant and professional. He went over several of the treatments he can offer. He ordered an MRI of my neck bones. He reviewed what the results were of the MRI. I being a nurse, didn't need a lengthy explanation. Informative but more time should have been spent on actual treatment when I was in such pain. I had my cast on my broken arm, in addition. However, after two treatments with a lot of discussion and little actual treatment to ease my acute pain and stiffness only one week after my accident, I was not getting any serious help. Didn't feel any better. I felt Dr. Kevin was hopeful that I would keep coming back so he could do more work with me and of course have repeat business. But driving out for these short 15 minutes appointments was more of a hassle in my opinion when there was little relief. With having to arrange for rides since I'm not driving a car at the present time, I decided not to go back to this chiropractor. When I went to a massage therapist the same week as this initial chiropractic treatment, I learned that some chiropractors focus a lot more on muscle relaxation hands-on techniques in addition to the traditional adjustments. I was referred to other chiropractors who would offer what I was looking for - myofascial release. The massage I got twice in the initial period right after my accident was so therapeutic in easing my pain. I am a strong believer in massage therapy as a therapeutic technique for Muscoskeletal Pain And stress relief. Dr Kevin showed me how he can use a Theragun massager device to relax the neck and back muscles. It's ok. Not great. And definitely not as effective as a real person giving you a real massage on aching muscles. I don't think Dr. Kevin focus as much on this hands-on work which is what I find effective. I've now come to learn from a different chiropractor who is very good with muscle work as well as adjustments, the technique that I seem to favor is called myofascial release. Myofascial Release is a safe and very effective hands-on technique that involves applying gentle sustained pressure into the Myofascial connective tissue restrictions to eliminate pain and restore motion. I would say that the ease of getting appointments and traditional chiropractic approach is what you will find helpful if you come to this business. I would add that Dr. Kevin was kind to show my mom what cold laser therapy can do for joint pain. He gave her a complementary treatment for her knee pain. She did feel some pain relief initially but it wore off after 2 to 3 hours. She decided not to have it again as she would have to pay out of pocket for this treatment. She didn't think it was worth the cost out-of-pocket since the relief was only for a couple hours. It might be more helpful for other patients.

Not only was he extremely attentive and thorough in his consult, but 50 percent of the pain was gone after one visit. I've been to see him 4 times now and with a combination of laser therapy, traction, and adjustments I am basically pain free. Again I can't say enough he's just a great guy and you can tell he cares. Let's also talk about how he uses a dry erase board & draws pictures of your spine & muscle, and lists out all the issues you are having, while giving you a lesson on what & how he does it. It's like a mini class, very cool touch! I had a lot of adhesions in my neck, that he got out. Really deep massage with direction and a great touch. He took treatment slow and asked me, if I would like more (yes!). He works and focuses on one area, and worked on my neck without making my body crack. The entire time he worked on me he seemed like he had a lot of work to do, and didn't want do too, too much. If you are afraid of having a massage that's too deep, he really takes his work in different levels to make sure you are a good candidate. I have to also add, the assistant Naomi was so professional. She had to hold my head, was very gentle, overall a great assistant & most importantly was very kind! ***Bonus points for getting me in before my honeymoon.*** 12 hours later, I can still feel the positive effects.
