I know massages can be quite personal and it is all about how much pressure you want them to apply on your body and how comfortable they make you feel. I have been going to different MTs all over the GTA and in my opinion, Joan is truly the best one! Everyone and everything about the place was great! I called several days earlier to book Joan (recommended by a friend) and the receptionist whom I spoke with was friendly and accommodating. I love that they give you an email reminder the day before so I wouldn't forget the appointment. The place was super clean and the fact that I booked the massage for 8am, there was no one there besides the MT and I, making the place nice and relaxing. I really hate to go to places where the walls are thin and I can hear people talking outside. The massage was seriously the best! Joan was super nice and made sure I was comfortable. She definitely focused on the areas that needed more work (shoulders, upper back). Perhaps it is because Joan is a Athletic Therapist, but she knew exactly how to go about the problem. Overall, I will definitely return for my next massage and I will definitely be recommending this place to my friends and family for not going massage therapy but other services that they provide such as physiotherapy and osteopathy.

Every other review site rated this clinic very highly so I decided to call here and make an appointment. Dr. Matthew was very welcoming and easy going. He was very engaged in learning my health history and how I've been suffering with chronic back pain for years. He completed his examination, which included a good amount of objective measures that we could compare to after some treatment. I was very impressed with his explanation about my problem and his approach to treating me for it. It made total sense, with a simple straightforward approach that would be reasonable and easy to manage. I received my first chiropractic adjustments on my first visit and could feel improvement immediately. On my second visit he introduced some stretches and strengthening exercises that I could do each do to support the treatment and progress as quickly as possible. I'm now two weeks into care with Dr. Matthew at Vellore Chiropractic & Wellness Centre and it has been the best decision about my back pain I've ever made. My first appointment was a consultation which is normal under the circumstances, since I am a first time client, but the more the appointment went on, the more I felt like Dr. Bortulussi was trying to "sell" me a program - almost like visiting certain weight loss centres or people trying to sell "multi-level marketing". I made a second follow-up appointment and low-and-behold - he was trying to sell me on a year long "better living" program upwards of 3.5k. When I insisted and only said I was here to be on a pay-per-session basis, he kept trying to insist that I would need the WHOLE program to feel better. Needless to say I never returned and went elsewhere. I don't want to be conned because I'm desperate to be out of pain. HE is con-artist!

Safety is a priority here as this is a clean private practice downtown with limited clients. The air purifier is on, and Andre takes his COVID testing frequently and getting vaccinated. So if you're going to go to any massage place, this place is a safe bet. Andre's massages are still the best I've had, and I don't throw this out lightly. I was a dabbler before and tried many therapists and went back to him in the end. He finds the right balance of making it relaxing and using a perfect amount of pressure for effective treatment. My back would ache from sitting on my butt all day or from playing vball and golf. I feel as good as new after his deep tissue massage. He also has a ton of knowledge of other techniques under his belt from teaching in the massage school. This is a great deal considering Andre takes the extra time for comprehensive treatment and for you to feel comfortable at all times.
