I considered it a treat going there. Linda is not only amazingly talented she is incredibly helpful. I tell her what I want and she puts the package together without me even having to think. lol. At first I was heartbroken when I learnt she was moving her store to Orangeville but now it is even a bigger treat to go to see her at her store. I am so happy for Linda and her new digs. You can see the store front from the roads if you're looking towards the plaza. The sign is done in a pretty font befitting its name. There's plenty of free parking. The lot is accessible from Steeles. The store looks deceptively small from the outside. It's long, and has a second floor. This specialty shop has just about anything you may require for all your sewing and thread craft needs. Not only will you find supplies, you will be able to avail yourself of the knowledge the owner and staff can share. In fact, they teach their own classes here. When we came in looking for a new pair of scissors, we enjoyed browsing the books, patterns, and accessories as well. We did find that it's a little more expensive for some things than going to the Fabricland up Weston Road, but we enjoyed the better atmosphere and the satisfaction of supporting a local business. If you don't want the sterile shopping experience of a chain like Fabricland, this place is for you. The inspiration and knowledge you will come away with from here instead make it worth repeat returns.

In this day and age, a brick and mortar hobby shop is…read morehard to keep afloat with the massive unrelenting competition of online shopping where you can not only buy anything sold in the store, but also literally every other radio control and general hobby item that exists. They also literally cannot keep up with or undercut online shops that have no real overhead to pay for. Remember, these guys have bills to pay to keep this store open all week. Don't be so hard on them. They're in it for the love of the hobby. But what they do is a good job so long as you're willing to approach them friendly. They can be a little brash, but they are also rushed and under stress. They helped me when I was new to the hobby, and even though I have mostly and almost entirely moved past Horizon Hobby products for aircraft, I try to pop in every now and then for a purchase of a new toy. I also go there for odds and ends items. I'd much rather take a short drive than wait for weeks to a month for small items like carbon fiber rod or solid metal piano wire for my projects. It's also nice to be able to just go out and buy your connectors rather than wait for them to arrive. I have read of them being rude, and It's also happened to me before, but what you need to do is educate yourself, at least a little bit so that you yourself have an idea of what you're talking about when asking questions if you're new to the hobby and seeking help. There are MANY places online to find this info, so I'll just tell you that Google is your friend, the trick is to use the correct key words while doing a search ;)
