purchased markers last week for a specific style of art. I tested them in store and they worked nice on the paper provided but when I came home to do the project they were not at all what I wanted. I looked for my receipt but unfortunately had thrown it away but as I still had the original packaging and only tried a few colours I did think it would be a big deal. Their website did not state that the markers were part of the restricted return items, nor did it say I couldn't return without a receipt. It actually says that the company doesn't do exchanges so you have to do a return, if you don't have your receipt then you need government photo ID. When I drove to the store the cashier was rude, and immediately said "and you have your receipt for all of this... I hope" she didn't even look at the packaging or the tips of the markers to see the quality and went to her manager. I explained what I saw online and was RUDELY interrupted saying that fine art is an exception to the policy.... Again it does bot say that anywhere. I didn't want me money back (THE SEVENTY DOLLARS I SPENT!!!!), I just wanted to exchange for the alcohol markers I wanted.... I would have spent more money actually. I called customer service and was on the phone for an hour and was transferred to 2 people and was told they would contact the store for me to rectify it and reach back out to me and they never did. read more

Probably a 3 1/2 star, if only I could. I'm happy to see this large, bright store on the main drag of Belleville. I like to shop and compare with other Michael's stores as you can't always get the same items at every shop. As an aside, I find I'm really missing the old days of having Lewiscraft to compare with! They closed down ages ago. However, Michael's stores are re-branding across the country, and this shop is no different. They've moved the beads to an out of the way location nearer the cash on your way out. It's also a much smaller section than it used to be (this is the case in the 2 or 3 stores I've been in recently). From what I've seen, they've had difficulties with some suppliers (keeping up with demand), so likely this is reflected in the size of the space. No worries; there is a lot of competition for beads. And that's a good thing about beading: supply availability keeps you on your toes! As the saying goes, "Necessity is the mother of invention". So keep your thinking cap on, and an open mind, and you'll find a way to achieve your vision. Now, because of the new store layout, the first thing you see is the seasonal department (so, at the date of writing this, it's Christmas trees.) I overheard a lady walking in saying, "oh look - there were halloween decorations here last week!". Yeah, that's right! So they will be busy. Let's see how it goes. But their yarns and notions have a lot on sale; I picked up yarn for a baby project that I'm crocheting, at a very reasonable price! So I'll be back. read more

Not one of the best Michael's I've been in for variety but it is still a Michael's so it is a great spot to pick up some crafty supplies and see some unique Hallowe'en and Christmas decorations. This is one of my favourite times of year to visit the store for that very reason. As usual, the staff were helpful while still being mindful of giving us our space to look around. All-in-all... a good visit. read more

I have never had anything but positive experiences with Michaels at the Belleville location. There are other stores locally that sell yarn but I am never disappointed with what I can find at this location and they provide great customer service. I really appreciate the curbside pick up they offer. read more

This store is overpriced. The 2 for one deals are not a deal since the price of the items are at least 5 times more than you can purchase elsewhere. Also, Michael's does not provide Canadian customers with online shopping and when comparing US prices to the in store Canadian prices, they should be ashamed at what they charge in Canada. They should probably look at their model or they may go the way of Sears or Toys-r-Us. read more

Took 3 paintings in to be framed. Quoted one price then had to pay a higher price. Same day and time. Substantial difference. Way too pricey for the job done. The store is a disaster too. Not the normal Michaels store read more

First let me say this is not a refection on the people who work in the Belleville store, it is, however, the parent company and I have no alternative to vent. so, here goes. I placed an online order for delivery so I can start my online orders for my products I sell. Small homebased wreath creator. Well, it wouldn't take my order, then I checked with their "chat" and was told by Addison that they had a "glitch" in their system and weren't sure when it would be fixed. Place your order later, she typed. Well, me, being me, I don't have time to wait and find out when they might be available to take an order. So I go online and order from the States. They tell me my credit card isn't working. I go to my bank online, and find that Michaels has charged my account 3 times for the same order. Call the bank, they cant release it as Michaels has to. Call Michaels, they've released it, but it will take 2-7 business days for it to clear and be removed from my credit card. Well, I don't know to many people who can afford to leave $500 out in limbo. So now, I have to order a smaller amount of material and I may lose business because of their "glitch" Oh, but they are so "sorry". What a crock. NEVER EVER EVER will I EVER order online from them again. and if I can get the product from the USA I will buy it there. No customer service what so ever. read more

place is a shame...rip you off i needed to stretch art work...they quoted me $300 with a straight face i got the job done for $75 at a place north of trenton i had the quote with me before i went to michaels. when i told the women i have a quote for $75 she right away knew which place it was as well stay away!!! no wonder parking lot is always empty read more
