His shop is filled with lots of spare parts for the popular r/c brands (traxxas, hpi) along with a few dozen of rtr's and kits. He may not have the vast selection some of the other hobby shops in Mississauga have, as his shop isn't the largest, but he will order anything in for you and actually call you to let you know when it has arrived. His prices are in line with everyone else too. If you're in the area and run r/c cars or trucks, Galaxy should be your LHS.

Unfortunately, the experience went downhill the moment I walked in. One employee immediately gave me a harsh look and stared at me from across the room. I didn't even realize he worked there at first, so I tried to move out of his line of sight. Another employee eventually approached me, and I explained that it was my first visit and I wanted to look around before asking questions. He was friendly and helpful -- I honestly wish he had been the one assisting me the whole time. Instead, the first employee eventually came over and asked if I needed anything, but his tone and body language made me feel unwelcome, as if he wanted me to leave rather than browse. It took the excitement out of what should have been a fun first visit. Bottom line: the store itself was great, but the attitude from that particular employee made the experience uncomfortable and disappointing.

Really flexible hours of operation, open late many nights of the week, and there are constantly events occuring here. They have a fairly large, well-lit, and clean gaming space in the back. I had my eyes set on Agricola but after talking to the associate I realized I wasn't ready for such a heavy euro game just yet. The associate asked us what we liked and then basically went through their entire collection with us, pointing out and explaining various games that he thought would appeal to us. You don't get customer service like that anymore! All the games are also much cheaper than you would find at Chapters or Mastermind Games. They've also got tons of other nerd stuff like comic books, figurines, and superhero paraphernalia. The store is located in the back of the plaza so it's difficult to find if you don't know where to look.

This specialty shop has just about anything you may require for all your sewing and thread craft needs. Not only will you find supplies, you will be able to avail yourself of the knowledge the owner and staff can share. In fact, they teach their own classes here. When we came in looking for a new pair of scissors, we enjoyed browsing the books, patterns, and accessories as well. We did find that it's a little more expensive for some things than going to the Fabricland up Weston Road, but we enjoyed the better atmosphere and the satisfaction of supporting a local business. If you don't want the sterile shopping experience of a chain like Fabricland, this place is for you. The inspiration and knowledge you will come away with from here instead make it worth repeat returns.
