Great location for getting custom picture frames and random stuff. Always do really good work but I had to return a picture frame I ended up purchasing and not getting made and they could only do $25 of the $60~ I spent not even a month ago. Personally not worth my time but really sucks because I was set up as a rewards member and this was all because they couldn't find it in the system and because my receipt was missing. I had a VERY simple framing job that needed to be done. Chose to use Michaels for location/convenience. NEVER AGAIN! The job was: remove existing print, replace with new print, add UV protectant glass. That's it. Took them THREE times to get it right. First time - on their own -- they took my double frame APART and put one print in one frame, and the other print in the "additional supposed frame." I. Was. Mortified!! Next try: they put the frames back together and put the ORIGINAL print in the frame -- meaning - gave it back to me like I handed them (after I'd spent $100.) ‍. Third try - and they were required to do the work while I stood there -- they finally delivered the way I requested. Is it acceptable? No. In reality, the inside frame (external frame material that doubles as a mat) needs to be trimmed because the new print is a little larger than the first / original print. I'll be darned if I try to get Michaels to understand what I want -- I'll have to spend more money and time with a different framer to get it right - but I won't give up. And ... to top it off -- no partial credit for my pain and aggravation. Social Media, you know what to do. Enter Michaels at your own risk. I will NEVER darken their door again! If it were possible - I'd give them a minus star review -- 1 star review is too complementary. read more

We headed here from the Michaels at Park Road and found ourselves in a much larger store. Much more merchandise and well stocked. Busy for the Christmas season and plenty of helpers about. Lots and lots of crafting and art supplies. We found ourselves in the painting department and were easily able to find the paintbrushes we needed. This is a nice Michaels located in the heart of the Aboredum shopping center. There is a shared parking lot with plenty of parking. They have a rewards program that you can join to receive coupons and discounts. If you have an opportunity just to go on the site on your phone and they typically have a coupon you can use and apply at check out. They have a variety of arts and crafts items. The staff are friendly, but very limited in numbers. The place is well lit, but not as clean as it could be maybe there's just a lot of items and dust. Good luck and happy shopping. read more

A friend and I went today and we have some things to say. The workers there were soooo sweeet. The yarn selection was inspiring... let's just say yarn was bought. It is remarkably similar to the Michael's in Omaha, NE on 72nd street. Therefore it was very familiar and smelled exactly like a Michael's should. read more

This Michael's is hit or miss. Went in for Christmas baking things and there was nothing left with Christmas still 2 weeks to go. Left and went to Walmart and Harris Teeter that had what I needed. Sometimes I find things I need, but definitely not always. Clerks are pretty helpful. read more

Of the Michael's stores I've frequented, this is my favorite. Somehow these locations manage to attract the zaniest of characters, and this store is no exception. Occasionally, I'll see someone who will wear latex gloves when operating a cash register and refuses eye contact. Or perhaps a set of twins, both working the same shift together. No matter when I go, I always seem to run into interesting people. What I love about this store is the familiarity. I've pretty much located all of the items I will ever need, and can run in and out quickly if I so desire. The dollar bins are treasure chests, in my opinion. A bunch of thank-you cards for $1, thank you very much, I'll take 20! Working with kids for the past 4 years, Michaels is a mecca for craft supplies and art accoutrements. I'm a huge fan of their [50 and 40% off one item] coupons that can be sent to my email inbox, or better yet THEY HAVE AN IPHONE APP! And the quirky customer service reps are more than willing to scan the coupon from the app. A total time-saver, so I'm not digging through old and frequently deleted emails attempting to scrounge up a valid coupon. There were even a few times before I had downloaded the app and had forgotten to bring a coupon, but just mentioned it, and they scanned a coupon for me. I love the seasonal section as well, where you can find perfect quick crafts for the preschooler in your life (or a harried mom of 3 you happen to know). Vast selection coupled with weekly coupons makes Michael's a great spot to track down all your arts and craft supplies. read more

This location of MIchael's is pretty large and has a good selection of decorations, frames, paper, art supplies, crafts, and all sorts of party supplies. Employees here are generally pretty helpful and friendly. read more

I went in with a single purpose: model rockets for me newphews. They have rocket engines in the most popular size, but and it is a big but: they only sell rockets in starter kits. I mean launchpad and all, these are a 10usd rocket in a 30usd kit because of the launch pad. They used to have more selection. I am sad to see a science centric hobby decline so much. read more

Anyone with high school kids is familiar with Michaels. Whenever there is a school project, they are our go to store. Fortunately we have two within 5 miles of us in South Charlotte. This is the older one, so it's not the most attractive store in the world, but it still has everything your student will need (yes, that includes that solar system kit that they all seem to need at some point.) Coupons are readily available, so never go without one. read more

I was in a hurry when I came into this location to look for a little bead storage system for my sister. I asked one of the ladies there to help me find what I was looking for. My wife loves this store. We normally go to the one in Matthews but this one is just as close. We love there sales and the coupons when they give extra off. My wife is always buying seasonal stuff from this stuff. Got a great deal on some Christmas trees and wreaths last year which have been amazing. We bought 2 trees and about 12 wreaths for our business. They look amazing in our offices and have held up great. There customer service has always been great. read more

"This location is literally 3 mins from where I live and I visit the store at least 3 times monthly; the employees are always so nice and friendly. I saw a sign indicating they were hiring, so I went online and completed an application. I figured I could use the extra money and I love craft stores. Well weeks later, I receive an email from "Infor Talent Science, on behalf of Michaels" and it reads: "Thank you for your interest in working for Michaels in Charlotte! We are actively hiring for replenishment team members, cashiers and sales associates at our Arboretum Shopping Center location and would love the chance to speak with you. We are calling applicants, like yourself, who applied online, but with everyone's busy schedule it can be difficult to connect. Our leadership team is available for ON THE SPOT interviews Monday-Friday from 9-5 and Sundays from 10-4! We would love to invite you to drop by our store located at 8120 Providence Rd , The Arboretum Shopping Center, Charlotte, NC 28277 and let us know you'd like to join the team! You can also give us a call at 704-543-4119 to schedule an interview." So I called the store to set up an interview. A store manager named Sharon gets on the phone. I explain the purpose of my call and asked if I could set up an interview for Friday. Remember, the email says "ON THE SPOT interviews Monday-Friday from 9-5." She says, " I won't be here Friday and what do you mean email? I didn't send out any emails. I don't see you anywhere on my list...what's your name again?" I provided my name again and proceeded to provide more information about the email. To make a long story short, I was blown off. She told me she didn't know what I was talking about and to just call her back the following day after 9:30 am. She reiterated that I was not one of the applicants on her list. Her phone demeanour was dry and it almost sounded like I had interrupted her day. She said she would check again for my information. After getting off the phone with her, I wasn't sure if calling her back the next day would be a good idea, but I did it anyway. I figured everyone has an off day; however, I've worked in customer service and customer facing positions for years and you just don't allow off moments to enter into your professional day. If you have to step away or call someone back, just do that. Unfortunately for Micheal's, they missed out on a great employee. When I called back, she was in the same dry and uninterested mood that she was in the day before. When she picked up the phone, I greeter her and reminded her of who I was and the purpose of my call. I even told her where the email came from, Apparently Micheal's has enlisted a 3rd party company to send out correspondences on their behalf. She continue to say that she didn't know what I was talking about and that she did not see me on a list. Being that I am not desperately in need of a job, I simply opted not waste anymore of her time ad mine. I have always been a great worker...dedicated, dependable and devoted to getting any job done and any of my past employers will provide a reference for me, but I believe those two phone calls with Ms. Sharon were and eye-opener and a prerequisite of things to come under her management. I still like Micheal's and will continue to visits the store, but this experience has turned me off from wanting to pursue employment at that location. A good manager stays in the loop, but apparently the left hand didn't know what the right hand was doing. Had she known, she would have been aware of where the emails were coming from. read more

Horrible just awful treatment, 3 minutes till closing we walk up and the lady locks the door so we can't get in and get supplies. I mean really she ran just to close the door and keep us from getting in. Wow I mean we were going to buy stuff and she locks the door. Hopefully this doesn't happen to you but really wow!!! read more
