I have visited this store twice now. Unfortunately, their service has been lacking both times. The staff appears to be uninformed about their stock levels. I picked up a product to read instructions and I did not know r there was green paint on the bottom of it . Paint got all over my hand and my pants leg . I took. The product and tried to find an employee to assist which took awhile and the employee said she did not have any towels to use to wipe it off and for me to go to the restroom and try soap and water. It was oil based paint and just got worse when I tried to wash it off. So I went and asked for paper towels . The employee gave me some but still couldn't get the paint off and she said she didn't have anything else. I asked for a manager. She said I don't know what you want me to do . I told her could I have some paint remover to try to get it offf . She said we don't have any. I said we are in Michaels which Carrie's paint remover and I need to get this off . She said I don't know what you want me to do about it . I said I want some paint thinner or something to get it off and she said we don't have any. So I advise everyone to not go to michaels . There are other more friendlier concerned places . It was not even my fault that the paint was on the bottom of the bottle. I could have just left the bottle on the shelf and someone else could experience the frustration also .but I turned it in to the "manager" so no one else would ruin their clothing or get paint that does not wash off i their hands. I'm giving Michaels 4 stars for their extensive assortment of craft supplies. They have just about everything a crafter, artist, or DIYer could want. I was blown away by the huge selection of yarn, project books, and supplies. They blow the competition away and at good prices. I had artwork framed there in the past, and they did a professional job. I can get lost in their art supplies and artificial flowers. They always have specials going on. It's close to Halloween so those items were everywhere. First time I've seen hot pink pumpkins! They lost a star for a couple of things. Sometimes the aisles are a mess, especially where they have mark down items. Some items have no price tags on the shelves. The employees are sometimes disconnected from their job and customers. Today the check out person laughed and asked another employee to help the person on the phone because "she forgot to." The phone didn't ring while I was in line for over 5 minutes so who know how long they were on hold. None of my items had prices so I asked the counter person to tell me how much they were. They were 50% off but she couldn't tell me if the price I was seeing was with the discount. I told her never mind, that I didn't wan them, but she charged me anyway. Sigh. The manager I am assuming day manager needs to learn how to speak to her customers. I simply asked a question and all she said we don't have any. So I ask a little more detailed to try and get a better response and all she said yet again was they dont' have any. My question was if they were doing the $4 grab bag, and so I said like your store doesn't do it or you ran out or you don't have any left? All she said was yeah we don't have any. Excuse me lady learn how to speak and be detailed you are suppose to be manager of a well sought out craft store but apparently they didn't teach you mannerisms at your training. I am so unpleased with my experience .. I went up to the register to cash out & I purchased an item on sale, my cashier did not charge me correctly as I corrected the mistake .. She calls another associate over to ask for help.. That girl says " I don't know .. I'm not good at math " .. Meanwhile the manager on duty "Liz" was standing at the door talking away to another associate.. As a manager myself, I feel like that was horrible managing skills. .if you clearly see a problem it is your job is to inquire about it. Those girls have very poor customer skills & math skills at that ...I was not happy at all with them. read more

The cashiers are unfriendly and borderline rude. They are not consistent with their policies, especially with coupons. The store never looks clean to me and some of the displays are a mess. Will avoid shopping here when I can. read more

I really love this place , only thing is that I have a thing for the customer always coming first what I mean this is when a customer is in line drop what you are doing and attend. I feel as a customer I've been waiting on workers to finish what they are doing before they are attending. This could change with a simple person being a leader in the store, because how were trained is by example. read more
