I always seem to find just what I'm looking for. Will normally look on line to see if item is in stock. Usually I end up buying more than I intended. I have also had custom framing done for some of our art work. Every time it looks so professionally done. Very happy with the merchandise and custom framing. I didn't give it a full five stars because it seems the store is usually understaffed and the employees end up at the registers. Checkout is usually slow because of so many customers, but it gives me ample time to think about how I can be more patient. read more

Online expressed plenty of stock for an item that I needed. I arrived to the store to find an empty shelf. After 15 minutes of walking through every aisle trying to find someone available to help me, I finally saw two people working in the framing department. However, those people are not trained on the matters pertaining to the floor-sales area. I walked toward the front of the store, and there were approximately 20 people in line with two registers open. Completely frustrated, I will be taking my business somewhere else. read more

I would never have expected the level of hostility I experienced today while at this craft store. No one was working. No employees anywhere. People were walking around asking where shit was, interrupting the three cashiers who were chipping away at the 10 bazillion people in line, slowly. Every time an exasperated shopper would come up, the people in line were like, "nobody helped us, fucking deal with it." I watched a sweet looking 70-year-old woman with a basket full of plastic flowers drop the F bomb - twice. I fought the urge to drop my wares right where I stood in line and yell, "fuck this," as I have many times when my patience wears thin while waiting in line in stores grossly understaffed. Lucky for them, I really needed the two gallons of Elmers glue I was buying so I held it together for the sake of my daughter's slime-making project. You get two stars for actually having the product three other places in town advertised but only actually carried through their web sites; the understaffed store that I had to stand in line in for 27 minutes to checkout cost you three stars. I always go to Michaels for all my Crochet yarn. They have the best selection anywhere. If I can't find it in the store I can always find it on line and pick it up or have it delivered to my door. I love their assortment of colors of yarn and the different weight of thread and the verities is endless. I also like all the different types of décor they have, the flowers, baking, any craft project you may be doing they have the goods. I highly recommend Michaels for all your craft needs. read more

Went with some friends to Michaels for the first time in a long time. We had called ahead to make sure they had the power carts for handicapped shoppers, as I have both knee problems and breathing problems and cannot walk throughout the store as easily as I once could. They said "yes" that they did have them, so we were all set for some fun! However, we arrived to find that not only did they did NOT have any power carts, they had only 1 wheelchair cart available, which may have been standard size, but looked to be an uncomfortably narrow width for anyone except petite-size people. I won't be going back, as Joann's Crafts store is much more considerate of their disabled customers, and more friendly and helpful in locating items. Sorry, Michael's, but you disappointed me. read more

A huge warehouse that is now in the old KMart complex offering all of your arts and crafts needs. I only come here for the photography kind of stuff but they have a ton of things to offer like stationary, fake plants, baskets, glitter, you get the idea..fag hag dreamland. I've never seen so many pre manufactured frames ever in one store. They have just about any style,color, price, and size imagineable here. I came to matte and frame up a photo. I couldn't find the exact frame that I had wanted out on the shelves so I went to the custom counter looking for mattes and frames. The girl was very helpful, though needed a bit of artistic direction. She kept trying to put mattes with my photo that we're just hideous. I found a nice one to pair it up with and since it was coming up on Christmas it took some time to get it back to me which is fine - understand. When I went back to pick it up she had added a cool feature to the back at no additional props that I didn't actually hate so props to her. Good selection overall. The clearance area was full of junk but absolutely nothing had prices on or near it which was frustrating. When I went to check out there were 4 people ahead of me and only one cashier. When I was at the cashier, there were 4 people behind me. Was told there are only 2 people working in the entire store and she has to do some inventory thing . I said I thought checking people out would take priority and she said no she needed to do what she was working on...seriously?!?!
