This is a fairly large store a diverse selection of crafts & decor. It is always clean and usually stocked well. Most things are overpriced but with their coupons (easily available on their app),they become 'normally' priced. Staffing is alway a bit minimal- not many on the floor and usually need a few more on cash. The fabric section has a lot of licensed prints (ie. Harry Potter, Disney..) BUT.... beware of buying fabric here. Fabric should be cut on the grain -especially for prints and the last time I purchased here the fabric was cut at a terrible angle. I bought & paid for 1.5 meters but in actuality I got 9 cm short. My pattern required a lot of shifting to get it to fit and my daughter's pyjama pants became pj shorts. Not impressed as stores are usually meticulous about cutting accurately and even allowing extra for shrinking. read more

For Happy Planner Shoppers: SOMETIMES they have the products you're looking for, but rarely. The ONE display is usually picked over and empty, like a carcass left out to dry after fellow planner nerds have gotten their fix, leaving the dishevelled display in such a state that the staff just avoid that area of the store all together. Seldom are remaining sticker packs, half-opened boxes of sticker rolls and old inserts restocked. Instead, it seems like the focus is on maintaining Michael's own line of planners --Recollections: basically a blatant rip-off of Erin Condren's Life Planner. Bitterly moving on... Coupon policies are confusing at this store. It seems like every store employee has their own take on what is acceptable to use a coupon on. Example: You got a 50% off coupon that says it's valid for one reg. priced item (excluding big ticket items and everyday value items) "Ya sure, here's your half-price Happy Planner". 3 months later: "...Ya no, sorry, Happy Planners are an everyday value item". ...Wait, what?? I finally find something that I was looking for and now I can't even redeem the coupon? The staff aren't terrible people, they are all usually lovely, but the coupon politics is maddening. Final word, their 40% off planner and planner accessory flyer sales are pretty awesome but the selection at this particular location is usually so disappointing that's it's not usually worth its salt. Also, what's with the temperature settings at this store? It's like my menopausal aunt Gladys can't figure out what temp is going to accommodate her hot flashes or cold old bones. read more

I am so not crafty... not a member of the Martha club, but I heart Michael's. Once you wade through all the bug eyed scrap booking ultra freak stay at home Mommies and make your way to the back where all the cool stuff is this place becomes a 1 hour hang out. The frames are almost always 40% off and they ALWAYS have just the perfect thing. I have used their off the shelf frames, and their custom service numerous times to great satisfaction. They also have cool little clearance areas with crafty stuff to entertain children... anything that buys me ten minutes of peace and quiet for $2.54 worth of foam and glue... is a win. Stay away during wedding season though... the Bridezillas outnumber the scrapbookers... oh and then there are the Christmas crafters... lord help us. read more

Michaels is a great craft store. Although at times it may be pricey, it has so much to offer... Fulfilling the needs of all of those Bakers, Scrapbookers, Designers, Artists, Knitters or Needle workers, Photographers, Brides, Etc... You can find so much here it's crazy! Something is always on sale, and you always have the advantage of their 40% off coupon. They also offer classes at most locations, not sure about this one for sure, but I know they do... I love the selection and the variety this stores offers for the craft and baking enthusiasts. I can find most of what I need at the store but the only downside is the price of things. I usually try to use the coupon when I purchase things so I can save. You can download their app on your smart phone and access the coupons. They also offer lessons for those interested in learning how to decorate cakes. read more

What the hell is with the prices at Michaels? $13 for a 5-pack of Sharpies? $46 for a planner? These prices are criminal. These things should cost maybe half of what Michaels is asking. But people will pay it, because it's Langley. The store does have nice things, and they get new stuff in all the time. It was fairly busy for a Saturday evening. There doesn't seem to be enough staff in the store, but our cashier Katherine was very friendly :) I did find 3 things that I wanted and I paid the ridiculous prices (you can't go into Michaels without shilling out a little more than you probably should), but only because I happened to find myself at the store: I wouldn't go out of my way to shop at Michaels. Seriously: all the stuff here can be bought at the dollar store for the same quality and a fraction of the price. read more

Great selection! They sell much more than craft supplies. I agree with previous review, there is always a 40% coupon to be had either online or in their flyer. I would give it 5 stars but there is often little help finding items and not enough cashiers working (always a massive line up) Overall I love coming here! :) read more

Glad Christmas is over as now the Pine Cones smell is gone. Went there and the smell was very strong with pine cone scent. Eyes watering and stuffing up as we waited to Manager and his response to my concern about my health due to the allergy to this scent was. We have many people loving the smell so we are listening to this. So someone who is allergic and is effecting their health is not as important.....My husband had to leave the store.....We will not be shopping here as our health is very important to us..... read more

I never go anywhere else! With the sales and the coupons this is the most amazing place to purchase any of my craft items. I purchased all my yarn at this location. ..and even though they run out of what I need...often... I always can find a substitute. I do not find the staff for the most part very knowledgeable. ..however not everyone can know everything about all crafts. It's a fun place to just wander around. Always clean and tidy. read more

I love this store in general. They have great sales, great coupons. Organized well. The staff at this particular location are very friendly and helpful and will go out of their way to find things for you. I've even been offered a cart randomly while carrying a few things. The only thing I am not fond of at this location are their arrangements made in-store. They always seem to be off or missing something - strange colour combinations, odd plants together. It's hard to explain. I'm not sure who makes them. It's fine for most people I'm sure... but I don't think they are worth the prices they sell them for. read more

Based solely on price, I frequently shop here. I frame all of my own artwork, so I'm there often. They always have the best bang for the buck on framing supplies. The downside is the cashier area is crowded/cluttered and usually the line moves very slowly. read more

This store has everything! Use the coupons and you can get almost everything for at least 40% off the original price. We recently had some artwork framed with them. We picked out the frames we wanted for our pictures and it was very nice that they could show us on the computer how the artwork would look with the frames we chose....before we purchased them. We love the finished product!! They did a superb job and we would definitely use them again. read more

I had difficulty with a warranty issue for a product I got as a gift and David the manager was more than willing to go the extra mile to make sure that I was well taken care of. Not only did he exchange my product without a hassle, he even went above and beyond to make sure that the new item wasn't defective like the first. Usually going into big box stores managers stick to their guns and are not usually willing to do more than their job description but I had a really positive experience during the entire exchange process. Since this is the closest craft store to me, I often frequent it, but not without walking out grumbling of frustration. It is way overpriced but at least they offer the coupons which i use every time. My frustration with this store and other Micheal's is: 1. There is never enough staff floating around to answer questions and to help you locate items. 2. They have 8 cashier tills and only 1-2 people working them, even if the lineup is mile a long, which is almost every time. read more

Quite possibly the worst customer service experience I've had in a while. I went in looking for a craft knife. Simple, right? After 10 minutes of walking around the store looking for it, or a staff member to help me, I finally found someone on a ladder making a display in the floral department. (This store has a large selection of fake flora right in the front of the store). She pointed and said"over there". I kid you not. Just before getting to the exit door, I met another staff member who had no idea what I was talking about. Long story short, I went to Opus and got what I wanted. Will not be returning. read more
