Despite loving arts, crafts, and home decor; hobby lobby is among my top 5 stores w/ worst customer…read moreservice. The managers are rude and don't stick to the cardinal rule of, the customer is always right. Many times I've gone in there and seen % off sale signs on everything, but by the time I get to the counter, they say the items I've brought up are not included. This happened today, 30% off mens metal and wood decor, they had shotgun shell decorative lights directly next to the sign. After bringing the manager back to see that my mom and I weren't lying, she made up some bs excuse that it would also say lights on the sale sign as well. My response was that maybe they should be moved to where all the other decorative lights are, or holiday to avoid more confusion and what I got back was a rude no. Which brings me to my next point, why aren't all these sale in the computer? When you scan an item, at most stores the register will automatically ring it up and the sale price. Not at hobby lobby, the cashiers have to sit with the ad in front of them and go through it by hand to make sure your items qualify to be on sale. Really? In this day and age there should be no reason for confusion on sale items, but instead your left arguing with your cashier or your store manager about a poorly placed sign, because they apparently put items not on sale, by the sale items? Idk, that's what the manager told me and it makes no sense. I will NEVER go back after this last experience, even the cashiers knew we were in the right. Joann fabrics gained another customer, I only wish I could file a formal complaint with corporate. Don't waste your time on their price gimmicks, it's mostly bs to keep you coming back. You're really not saving anything as their sales are perpetual, they should just mark everything down to its proper price instead of trying to fool everyone. You really think, that we think, you've been having a "sale" on wall decor every day since you've opened? You're customers aren't stupid and deserve better then the rude managers that run the place. Not to mention, the store itself has terrible lighting that will give anyone a headache that spends too much time inside. I also don't mind typically the warehouse like feel of some stores, but this store in particular has no order to the chaos. Art stuff in the back corner, fabrics in the other, and everything else might as well have just been randomly shelved by a team of 12 year olds. (At least the 12 year olds would probably be more polite!)

I have political differences with Hobby Lobby, so despite its convenient location to my house, I…read morewould normally never shop here. However, I was stressed out and did not want to drive to Appleton just to buy a coloring book and some pencils (see: stressed out), so I ventured in. The store is HUGE, and has an ugly warehouse feel. They have every kind of craft item you can imagine (and some you can't), as well as a hefty dose of kitschy home decor stuff. The aisles didn't have signs that I could find, so I had to peer down each one to figure out if I was in the right neighborhood. I did find what I was looking for, though I was alarmed to see children playing with merchandise in the next aisle and eventually heard their parents prompting them to "clean up." I didn't realize this was a toy store... The kicker was that, as I approached the register, a cashier was asking her manager if she could leave, despite the fact that she was open and I was standing there with two items. She chuckled to me not to take it personally, haha, etc., but it kind of turned me off. The card reader also didn't work right, and I eventually had to slide my card the opposite way the arrows indicated. So I wouldn't usually come here, and my experience did nothing to change that. So long, Hobby Lobby.

After looking at the original invoice when we placed order and the new invoice that was sent they increased the price of one of the mugs. I call Sunset Hill Stoneware to fine out why the price was increased after we placed the order. I was told that it was quoted incorrectly and final invoice show corrected amount. I asked why the original price is not honored since this was not a mistake on our end and was told prices are subject to change even after order is placed. I feel this is very bad business, to know that you can pay for an order and they can change the price after you have been quoted and paid in full. Their products are very nice, but the way this was handle is not good business practice.

I heard nothing but amazing things about this company until recently. Here is my friends…read moreexperience. "This company was the best I have ever worked for at first. I thought I had landed my dream job despite the terrible pay I loved going into work everyday. It seemed like a place that actually cared about their employees. That is until last Friday when ten production employees were gathered at 1:15 in the break room to be unexpectedly 'laid off' and told we will not be called back. One of the ten people started Monday of the same week, he was laid off. I personally feel terrible because he is a great worker and a long term friend of mine, I knew he was looking for a new job after being with his former employer for 15 years. I told him to apply, because I thought it was a place that cared about its employees. He interviewed three weeks ago, worked his two week notice at his previous employer and set a start date. Why was he hired? They had to have seen this coming and the actions the company took leading up to this decision to make cuts were incredibly irresponsible. Nobody should have been hired as of late if they even had a inching that such lay offs were a possibility. None of us saw this coming. We have been told that none of this was owing to our performance but rather a decline in sales. The week prior two sales reps were fired and another quit, yet there are no job postings seeking sales people. The remaining employees are being 'restructured' and have been told this isn't downsizing but rather 'right sizing' a term I was previously unfamiliar with. The one female Potter has been reassigned to the shipping department. We were told our production manager was not informed of the cuts to be made, eliminating a quarter of the production staff until only the night before. That seems like a huge lack of communication on the part of the recently named President Chris Rand. I started training as a potter in January and signed a noncompete that now prevents me from pursuing my passion for the next 18 months with any other production pottery. At first I was heartbroken, now I realize it was probably a blessing from the Universe that I won't be there to witness the sinking of what was only a few months ago an amazing place to work, the pre-Rand era. The owners Tom and Duane are amazing people, and allowing for this 180 to take place seems very out of character for both. I hope the company can get back on the right track before it is 'rand' into the ground. All the best to the amazing employees who remain, and have been deeply affected by the unexpected dismissal of their coworkers and friends. Take the raises, they promised for your loyalty, when they can show none in return, you at least deserve that. This was the best and most fun group of people I have had the pleasure of working with. On to the next chapter."
