One of the staff members "helping" me looked high as a kite, totally inappropriate and rude, highly unprofessional, flat affect, acted like they didn't want to be there and too good for all of us evidently. I have shopped at Michael's for as long as I can remember. It seems to be a cheaper option compared to Joann's and other stores I have been to, but still can be costly. I do enjoy looking through the clearance areas and have found many different types of paints, brushes, and craft items for a steal. Although things can be pricey if you are doing a DYI craft, they do have a website and rewards program. You can download the app or sign up for email/phone rewards to get coupons. I even found one online and she let me use it. I do wish they had more employees to help though. I usually can hardly find one throughout the store and it can be difficult to locate an item sometimes. I think that if they hired more floor staff, they would make more sales as most customers think they do not have an item or get lost looking for it. I recall a time I was searching for something in an aisle I believed it would be in, and it was on the other side of the store. I learned this from a customer instead after searching for a long while. This is just a suggestion, and I will continue to shop here even if they do not make this change. read more

I love Michaels. The selection is great, the staff is usually helpful. Last year for Christmas my husband bought me a new Cricut machine. They give you an awesome coupon book that lasts the entire year if you buy your Cricut from them. I used all but 2 of the coupons in the book and hated to see the last one go. I will say that coupon book makes buying your machine at Michael's vs another retailer worth it. Their vinyl selection is pretty good most if the time, and sometimes you can use a coupon. I would like to see a better selection of blades and tools. read more

Here they sell art and crafts, scrapbooking supplies, custom framing, holiday and party decorations, school projects to name a few. They also carry beautiful bridal and baby shower items and gifts to help plan for those special and memorable parties. I stopped in here quickly the other day looking for a Spring wreath or home decoration for my front doors. Unfortunately I was not impressed at my visit today. Not sure if they are sold out but I couldn't find anything decorative for Christmas. Typically I come in and I always find a lot of ornaments or sticks that I could add to my tree but I didn't find anything this time around. I usually go to a different location for my Christmas decorations so I'm not sure if this location just usually doesn't have a good variety or if it's just a coincidence and they are sold out this time. I stopped in after my trip to Rally House to see what they had for paints. They have a decent selection of Windsor and Newton oil paints. Their paint brush section was a bit light but I picked up a script liner and a No. 4 round brush. The staff at the register were friendly. We had a tech issue at the register but the staff were pleasant and registered me for their incentive program. I looked in a few aisles before paints and they seem to have a fairly nice selection of art, craft, seeing and similar supplies. Their acrylic and water color selection was fine as well. I am used to the Hobby Lobby near my home which has a bit more, but for paints, I was satisfied. Like others stores, I would love to see someone in the aisles more answering questions. I went here today and didn't wear a mask (I have a medical condition). A young lady worked here and came up to me and told me I had to wear a mask - I told her I have a medical condition and she said 'you still need to wear a mask'. NOW - this does not bother me at all - HOWEVER this employee came up to me wearing HER mask under her noise and not even wearing it correctly and actually told me it's necessary to wear a mask SERIOUSLY????!! How is an employee not really even abiding by the guidelines going to tell you that YOU have to abide by it or leave - does this make any sense? I'm so upset by all of this! read more

I could spend all day there and spend a ton of money! I was there yesterday to get some gerber daisies to make a wreath I saw on Pinterest. Wish I had more time to craft! I love that they always have stuff on sale and coupons. You never have to pay full price for anything between coupons and patience. They have super cute seasonal decor and anything you would need for kids school projects. Customer service is a bit touch and go. I think they have been in business long enough to know when they need more staff, but since that's probably the weekends, I can see it being hard to get weekends only staff. I was just in this store. I actually dislike this locations for many reasons. I drive out of my way to go to another location, but I was on Hall road and just needed one thing. I was in yhe paint aisle waiting for a lady to finish looking, when a store employee named Mike came into the aisle and got right in front of her. He didn't say excuse me or anything. She sort of sighed and walked out of the aisle. He walked away and I moved over to look. A minute later, he came back and got right in front of me. Never said a word. I walked away and waited, but be ignored me. I finally turned to walk away and he looked at me and said, "I'm looking for something." I said, "yeah, so was I." And walked away. I went to check out and he was there. He asked if I found what I was looking for. I said, "No, because you jumped in front of me just like you did to that other woman." Memories are what sometimes helps me get through the day. Well, memories and an obscene amount of food. When I don't have the time, or I simply can't pack in another calorie, I run to my favorite memories to get me by. Shopping at Michaels is but one of those happy memories. I'd been to Michaels a few times in my younger years, but it never seemed like a store that I'd spend very much time in. I'm not very artsy, and unless I needed a picture/poster frame, I didn't really think about this place. Then, after buying my first home, my mother suggested I come to Michael's for my very own Christmas tree. Hmmm. "Not a bad idea," I remember saying. I headed over to Michaels, and suddenly I was transported back to my childhood. During the holiday season, Michaels looks incredible inside, and they are filled with tons of Christmas decorations - trees, wreaths, ornaments, and knick knacks of all kinds. It's not Bronners, but it was nice going into a place so seemingly full of Christmas. But that wasn't 100% accurate. It was maybe a week after Thanksgiving, and for some reason people were not in a very Holiday Season mood. The Spirit of Christmas was simply not present in Michaels that day. Grumpy person after grumpy person waited in line with scowls on their faces. Everyone looked extremely angry about something. And listen, I'm the first one to get upset when waiting in line for something, especially long lines, which these were. However, that day I wasn't upset at all. I don't know if it was because I expected long lines due to the time of year it was, or because of my excitement shopping for my first Christmas Tree, or something else entirely; all I know is that I was very relaxed and happy. I picked out a tree, tons of lights, ornaments, and a few decorative holiday pieces, and got in line. It was unbelievably tense. Now again, I understand anger and didn't think it was my place to say or do anything as I waited. Then the woman two spaces in front of me came into view. She was treating the person ringing her up like trash. Just verbally abusing her, and being a 21st Century Scrooge. The employee not only put up with the abuse with a smile, but remained appropriately helpful and chipper. I couldn't believe it. As the rude woman continued her assault, I didn't even notice I had, somewhat loudly, began singing Christmas Carols. Before I knew it, the lady in front of me sang along. Then people in the other lines began singing as well. Just as fast as jolly old St. Nick shoots down your chimney, everyone within my eyesight was singing along. Customers, employees, children. It was a CHRISTMAS MIRACLE. Did the rude lady sing? No. No she didn't. But when she picked up her last bag, adding it to her cart she turned around and apologized to the employee, gave her a hug and said, "Merry Christmas." I'm not a very sentimental man, but that was maybe the most genuine emotional response I'd ever seen from another human being. Sure, I've been to Michaels plenty of times since then. I grab picture frames (which make great gifts by the way) when needed, decorative pieces for whatever holiday is coming up, and every once in a while some sewing materials. Every time the employees are helpful and polite. Every time I leave with just a little smile on my face; not just for the pleasant shop Michaels is, but also because it reminds me that even when we are at our worst, sometimes having the love and friendship of your community can shake your from your apathy, and bring you back to a place of caring. read more

This Michaels is by far my favorite. I craft constantly and I always find everything I need, and if I don't the staff are easily accessible. They do get really busy because of location, but this isn't a fast food drive thru. Sometimes you gave to wait in line a bit. Oh well. This store is always clean and organized. Good size clearance section and frame section too. When you need seasonal they have a wide variety in a big area for you. I prefer to come here over other locations. Canvas is basically all I get here and it is usually pretty disorganized and not normally in the right place. Twice I have brought canvas up to the register that didn't match the price that it was by on the shelf. If you are going on a day when they have a big sale I recommend going early as they had ran out of quite a bit of inventory by the afternoon. Coupons are your friend. If you are shopping here without one, you are doing something wrong. read more

The customer service here is deplorable. They have a "customer service" desk which we waited at for 5 minutes before being told "we don't provide service at the customer service desk. Huh?!? Recently bought 20 five-packs of canvas and the staff were all so helpful! They helped me carry out 100 canvases, helped me load up my van, and even ran back inside to exchange a few packs because the worker noticed a tear. All right at closing time even! Horrible experience at this store. Front door was broken with a hand written sign that stated that and looked like a child wrote it. No one on the floor to assist where items were located. 3 aisles completed blocked off where there was apparently a flood. Staff was extremely unaccommodating. Male manager extremely unhelpful.
