    Rude manager

If I could I would leave 0 stars. I drove to this location for over half hour in rain and traffic and this store was supposed to close at 9:00 pm. I tried to walk In at 8:55 but store manager closed the door in my face and said I can't come in when I still had 5 minutes. She was rude and laughed in my face. I literally needed one thing at the front of the store. Im a daily customer that purchases paint in high quantity for my business but because of this managers attitude and work ethic Michaels won't be earning my business anymore.I don't recommend this store location.

I ended up here as per the recommendation of the Chef who teaches the course I am taking at a local culinary school. The recommendation that brought me here was that even though they don't specialize in cooking utensils it everything under one roof kind of place. I had luckily brought a pic of the items I wanted to buy and just grabbed an associate to help me out. The sales person was very helpful and asked others for info if she couldn't figure out where something was (always a good sign IMO). There prices are at par for standard items when compared with other major chains and higher for some things but I think its worth visiting as you can get stuff done in one go. Besides the location is next to one of my fav shopping spots (CostCo) so that helps. The returns were very straight forward without fuss or questions asked.

Outrages Prices - $100 for this whatever the heck it is

Michael's is great for all your arts and crafts needs. Plus, they have other decorative items for the home and garden. But the prices are just outrageous. Every little piece of paper or plastic is marked up many many times over the true value. I hope they come into their senses and drop their prices, but I have my doubts, seeing they have become a ravenous publicly traded entity.

The main floor has a knitting lounge that is open for those that want to sit a knit/crochet. There's also a "cafe" to purchase drinks with a small list of coffee and tea. There's another floor in the basement with even more selection of yarn and a bathroom for customers. During my visit on a Saturday, the business was popping! The parking lot is small and narrow. There's a few workers that are on the floor helping with customers. As a noobie, I was walking aimlessly around the store until I gave up and had to ask for help from Christina. She was very helpful, and thoughtful with her answers to my many questions. I appreciated her as she didn't rush when describing the different yarn I could use. I will be back for materials and tips for my next project.

As soon as you enter the store, you're greeted by an employee letting you know that there is a whole other section of the store downstairs. There's a convenient couch section for the family members who don't knit where they can relax. While resting here , an employee offered me tea or coffee while I waited ! It's clear that the employees are all knitters themselves, so they have the domain expertise to help patrons.

You can see the store front from the roads if you're looking towards the plaza. The sign is done in a pretty font befitting its name. There's plenty of free parking. The lot is accessible from Steeles. The store looks deceptively small from the outside. It's long, and has a second floor. This specialty shop has just about anything you may require for all your sewing and thread craft needs. Not only will you find supplies, you will be able to avail yourself of the knowledge the owner and staff can share. In fact, they teach their own classes here. When we came in looking for a new pair of scissors, we enjoyed browsing the books, patterns, and accessories as well. We did find that it's a little more expensive for some things than going to the Fabricland up Weston Road, but we enjoyed the better atmosphere and the satisfaction of supporting a local business. If you don't want the sterile shopping experience of a chain like Fabricland, this place is for you. The inspiration and knowledge you will come away with from here instead make it worth repeat returns.
