This lady Not only rang me on a public holiday but took the personal time to follow through and even ring me after the sale. I've never met such a person. I would recommend her 110%. read more

If you live nearby and don't want to go through the hassle of finding a car park at one of the big shopping centres - especially as they'll be charging soon - then come and support this local store. The staff are very helpful and friendly they certainly know what they're talking about, having been in the business for many years. The prices are good, the fabric selection on rolls is not huge but the store is only so big, a large selection of fat quarters - those in the know, know what I mean - and material cut and priced by the quarter. Fabrics, haberdashery supplies, knitting supplies, lace, stuffing, padding, good range of buttons, etc they've got it covered. And in case they don't they will point out where you can.
Crowhurst Paints

Yes, so Solver manufacture paint for Crowies under their directions for all six stores located in South Australia. The shop is also a distributor for Wattyl, Sikkens and of course Solver Paints. I suppose you can classify Crowie's brand of paint in the budget category because it doesn't have the same price tag as Solver. Looking at it from a different perspective it's like comparing the same item of clothing, both are manufactured in the same factory then purchased and labelled with different names. And to keep costs down even further, they've got a member card which entitles you to 10% off purchases - pretty good but there's only so many cards my wallet can handle! They also sell the all the other paraphernalia to go with your paint job...brushes, solvents, ladders, paint rollers, spray guns (yeah that's the way to do it), paint trays, scrappers, paint stripper, turps, even harnesses when you want to abseil the house, and practically anything and everything you'll ever need. The staff are friendly and helpful and can also supply a few professional painter names they might know of to help with your redecorating job.

A well established store selling the Solver paint range and related accessories at a good price the main reason I'd come here is for the customer service and the expertise. These guys will give you the basics and more when you're getting ready to paint and will help you out in picking the right products for you. I also loved the fact that they weren't afraid to tell you the price brackets (budget, standard, luxe) and let you know what you could get by with on the cheap to get a great finish.

(ORIGINALLY POSTED 23/2/15) I can't recommend Mary highly enough! She fit me in with short notice,…read morethen when I arrived without knowing what i wanted, she cut my hair into a style I absolutely love! I feel like a new woman - my hair looks fabulous & healthy, and I have the most versatile cut I have had in years, and I have had so many compliments. I love going to her salon, there is a real feeling of being pampered. I'm so happy I found a hairdresser like Mary, I'm looking forward to my next appointment.

She curled my while still wet so I couldn't see the damage she had done until 2 days later as I had my wisdom teeth out just after my appointment with Mary. Once I could get out of bed and straighten my hair I was in shock she cut my hair just past my shoulders and I had all orange splotches through my hair and she did not even cover any greys. When I contacted her once I was physically able to which was 2 days later she said she could try and fix my hair which I declined after the horrible job she did the first time she would not give a partial refund. The worst part being how short my hair is now I can't even wear it in a pony tail. When I got back to work at least 5 colleges asked what on earth happened to my hair, they thought I had done it myself. Mary then claimed I photoshopped the before and after photos and called me a scammer. This was the most unprofessional woman I have ever met and the comments she made to me were hurtful. I have since had to go have my hair colour corrected and it will take 3 visits before I can get rid of the orange blobs scattered through my hair. The hairdresser I seen after Anna was amazing she also had a number of clients come to her after seeing Mary. I hope no one ever has to go through the experience I did with Mary. I still have all the before and after photos as well as all the crazy text messages she sent me.

"Hi Peter, as I said on the day, I would like to offer you a few written words in appreciation for a service that ticked all the boxes for me. It's not every day I pay out and feel I really was treated in a genuinely professional, respectful, confident and generous manner. My situation was complex with a sophisticated locking mechanism engaged under unusual circumstances, requiring also your travelling a good half hour each way to attend. Before asking your advice I'd obtained RAA Roadside assistance and phoned several locksmiths either unavailable or uncertain about their competence in this situation. Several suggested breaking a window. Your readiness to assist in a holiday weekend, taking calls at night, patiently and helpfully discussing my situation and taking genuine interest, delivering a prompt response, precise technical expertise, an extremely professional attitude, impeccable presentation and manners motivates me to drop you a line in appreciation, which I would be more than happy for you to refer to in promoting your service. thankyou once again."

The particular card I found was a Just Wink brand card with the right mix of funny, cute and quirky for a 13 year old girl's birthday. John has been an institution of Stirling and much of the Hills for decades now, and for good reason. He's always friendly, happy to chat or (more importantly) happy to just quietly cut hair. The chair is comfortable, and is most likely older than the building containing it. There are no appointments, just come in, sit down and he'll be right with you. This is the only place I can go to and have a photo printed out as soon as it will go through the machine - a service I've depended on a few times over the years. He's quite happy to print and frame up an image for you, too, not that it's hard to do, but it's nice to have everything done and ready to present. I discarded the 'amateur' tag to go with 'Amateur Photographer' quite a long time ago, and I'm a member of the National Association of Photoshop Professionals - bringing me to another thing I've loved about getting my prints done here - I can get prints done 'as they are' rather than fed automatically through a machine. Machine prints are fine, but they're designed to give an average result from an average image - when I want photo's printed I want them printed the way I've edited them, and the Arkaba kiosk does that for me. I've recommended quite a few of my friends here when they've wanted good prints done - I'd happily put the prints from here up against any premium labs work.
