You definitely get what you pay for with daycare and my peace of mind that my children are in good hands is well worth the cost.

The energy, the love, the attention to detail and most of all the HEART is there. My daughter began at 2 and now is finishing her second year. She LOVES going to school, loves her teachers, her friends and consequently, loves learning. She's grown so much in the last two years. The owner Kristen provides a loving, nurturing and positive environment so each child can develop at their own pace. They have made learning fun. The children learn life skills in addition to the curriculum and over time develop an independence that will take them so far in life. If only this school could go all the way through high school UPDATE: My little one is wrapping up her 3rd year and I can't believe the growth in her independence, love for learning and social development. This is a Montessori school and the teachers are fantastic. They work with each child on an individual basis, at their skill level in all areas. Yet, the management (owners) or lack of management's knowledge is the issue. They are not educators. In the more than six months that my child attended several things occurred that you should be WARNED about: 1) tuition increased $84 with no written communication. Emails were sent stating a 25 dollar increase a week. I was told that did not pertain to me no increase I was a new parent , only to find out in the portal of the increase. The director gravely resolved but the owner never responded to my request for a meeting regarding the issue. 2) No curriculum. The owner might say a team was brought in but you will never get a newsletter with academic focus for the week, no benchmark assessment or weekly activities. Lessons are on the wall but you can't have academics with inconsistent staffing. Some classes like the two years are so big you need small groups for instruction. 3) Staffing is a major issue. Some classes have consistent teachers others not so much. You will drop your child off to people you know and pick your child up to people you have never seen. Its so bad teachers in the room won't know the children's names 4) BUT THE WORST INCIDENT --- I went to drop my child off and it was 9:15. Since coming to the center the 9:00 cut off has not been implemented. I was met at the door without any communication from management and told we could not enter. I had a meeting as many other working parents, I was late. I had to take my child back home despite not being told about a policy before hand. I am not sure why you would take your child to a place that is punitive to parents --the customer. It boggles my mind that the people I pay could not have resolved an issue or implemented a policy more effectively. THIS IS NOT A PLACE FOR WORKING PARENTS--- NO CURRICULUM , CUSTOMER SERVICE, AND PUNITIVE TO CLIENT. Please know my review is as a parent and early childhood professional with 3 degrees.

They treat us as family. I am very familiar with all of the teachers there and I am always welcome with a smile. I look forward to many more years with them as my grandson looks forward to going to daycare everyday and lights up when he sees, Libia, Gladys, Gracie and Ms. McConicle (hope I spelled it right). I am very very very happy with my choice to bring him here. I waited to give the relationship time to be sure I was right about trusting them with my only grandchild and I was. I am a WORKING grandmother and I have never had an issue. The rules are the rules and are there for the safety of the children and to keep consistency. I appreciate that they take pride in that! After touring SoulShine, a virtual group tour, we were not impressed and felt that prospective families should know about the schools structure before applying. This group of facilities does not operate to the level of a preschool and instead would be better reflected as a nature based daycare. The director who toured us was over the Kirkwood location but we saw photos of all three facilities. The rooms were well furnished but the curriculum in each space was greatly lacking with a student-led approach focusing on centers rather than a structured teaching day. We did not hear about the daily curriculum or milestone tracking for our students development. The tours involvement of curriculum seemed to be focused on what they had in each space (toys, playgrounds, book corner) rather than the learning. We were immediately put off at viewing the Kirkwood location when shown that the infant room opens directly to the outside of the building. While I am sure there are safety precautions in place there is not a way that I could feel comfortable as a parent knowing my newborn could potentially be interacting with strangers that approach the building. We will not be applying to this or any of the SoulShine locations and feel it is a overpriced daycare option and severly lacking preschool option.
