YO! The bartender pulled a fast one on me…read more We are Anglo only, and the waiter (guy with a beard, and long hair in a ponytail) scammed me. He took our order in silence by me pointing at their board and ordering by beer name. I ordered 2 pints, for me and my wife. I put down a $20 bill and he put down a loonie and 2 quarters in change. Expensive, but fine. I grabbed 50 cents and left the loonie, picked up the two beers, and started to walk away. Suddenly as I started walking away, he slapped more change on the counter, then sweeped it almost immediately back up into his hand, and went about talking to his buddies I went out to my wife and said hey, how much are these beers? The guy seemed to suddenly drop more change on the table as I walked away? We looked on the menu and the pints are only $6.25 each. He drops $1.50 change, waits for you to leave a bit of a tip and walk away, then puts the rest down and collects it as if you left it behind for him TLDR - waiter got a full $5 out of me on 2 pints, and they do not like English there too much

This is small distillery that started back in 2012. They don't have a big sign out front so pay…read moreattention or you will drive by. When we went there was only one lady on staff (they have 3 staff total). She was very friendly and gave us a tour of the distillery (she was comfortable answering questions in French and English). After the tour there was the tasting of their products (about 10), answered questions and gave suggestions to create drinks with the products. The products have won several different international awards over the years.

We were in Gaspe for a day as a port stop on our cruise. We rented a car to explore and one of our…read morestops that we wanted to explore was Microbrasserie Au Frontibus. It is a small microbrewery, with quite a few choices for beer and they do offer wine, which was great. Mr. Bee did flight of beers, Vice Roi, which was a pilsner, Riviere R. Nord, Session Lorestiere an really nice IPA, Quadrupel Barrique, which he loved and lastly the nice woman at the bar offered him a taste of Sexybus, which was pink in color, and somewhat fruity. Of course with our drinks we ordered Poutine. It was delicious and so different from the Poutine's we had in Montreal and would have on this trip. Instead of gravy the crispy and creamy fries are topped with a sweet BBQ sauce and cheese curds. We loved it. The sauce was tangy and sweet and paired with the fries perfectly. The staff couldn't have been nicer. Everyone in the tasting room mainly speaks French and with our extremely limited French and their little bit of English we managed just fine and had so much fun with everyone. This was one of the highlights of our day in Gaspe.
