Still an awesome place to stay. About 20 minutes to South Portland but still very quiet and restful. Very helpful staff. Very clean and spacious rooms. Heated pool. Awesome breakfast each morning. The floor has a washer and dryer. Main desk has a store you can buy laundry soap and other essentials, like pool floaties for the grandkids. 2nd stay and will be back.

Not a good experience. Maybe I expect too much - like a room being cleaned before we get there. No carpet in the rooms and when the bed moved as we were bringing in our bags (as you can see in the picture) there's a line of dirt around the bed. According to Bill the front end manager "they do their best to vacuum (swifter mop) but it's hard to get under the bed". Right - you mean when they moped around the bed it moved the dirt in a line around the edge of the bed. As I mentioned, no carpet, just laminated floor so you could hear people upstairs walking around. Sounded like they were bowling above our heads. Pool towels were barely bigger than a hand towel that you have to get from the front desk every time. Per the front desk attendant when we commented about the size - "yeah I know, not my call". Pool insanely over chlorinated. Even after a shower we still smelled like chlorine. As I stood outside our room waiting for my husband, a housekeeping attendant was cleaning out the room next door. She drops the clean stack of towels on the ground and sighed. She looked over at me and said "ugh it's so hot in the hallway, so hard to work". She then proceeded to pick up the towels, dust them off and refold them before walking back in to finish setting up the room. Ice machines broken on 2 of their 3 floors. For $99 a night, I know not to expect too much but this was just not worth it.

I booked this hotel for one night during Labor Day weekend as my sister is getting married in norther Maine and I needed my baby to take a good rest to break up the ride. Upon arrival the desk clerk was extremely rude and acted annoyed that we were there, she said there would be a pack and play in the room and barely even greeted us before she shooed us away. Upon arriving in our room, the pack and play was there but not set up. When I went to set it up it reeked of Heinz and feeces and was covered in fresh stains. Please see photo below. I called down to the front desk very upset as we had just driven for five hours. I had to call three times before she answered and she did not even apologize. Or offer any alternative solution. Now my extremely overtired son had nowhere to sleep, and proceeded to scream and cry until 2:45 in the morning. The following morning when we went to check out I was told by a woman at the desk a manager would contact me about refunding my stay and making this right. And I am still yet to have heard from anyone. This is absolutely beyond sickening that it was thought this was acceptable to have us lie our baby down in an overwhelmingly smelly and stained bed. To top it off we also had to clean up public hair out of the drain when we went to bathe him, and their was dirty soap left in our bath tub. Again the front desk couldn't be bothered to even have apologized. I would expect this at a Motel 6, but not a Decent reputable hotel. I hope the manager makes this right. I am emailing their corporate offices as well.

    Salt water pool is wonderful!

Going to miss our late night swims in the amazing salt water pool, free yummy breakfast (lots of options - waffles, bagels, pancakes, yogurt, cereal, hard boiled eggs, oatmeal, pastries) coffee all day, and mini gym at this hotel where we've been living the last couple weeks while my new house gets renovated here in Windham. We've had the best experience overall here, all inclusive, great amenities, clean, new, modern, a spacious room and overall a comfortable place we've got to call home for a bit. ALL the staff is excellent, warm and friendly! My 4 year old even played with a couple of the staff's small kids who were visiting a few times. Because we basically lived her we spent a lot of time hanging out in the eating area and lobby while my son watched tv and I worked. And we felt comfortable and welcomed every time. Thank you Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham, going to miss this place!

The breakfast shows their appreciation in spades. Hot, strong coffee, fresh fruit, danish, cheeses and more, all you need to kick off your day. The room was spotless. The people running it are very nice and friendly, and the breakfast is very good and allows you to choose from different sort of (sweet) things. Also, it's quite well located, near the state park and Sebago lake, and Naples town which is ok. There are just a couple of problems. First, being so close to the main road, it's a little noisy. But the main problem is cleanness. The bed sheets and the bathroom and towels were ok, but there were spiderwebs all over the place. And therefore, there were a lot of spiders. Are they sacred here like cows in India or something? I understand we're in the countryside and you're supposed to find a bug or two (or not) but the room was full of all kind of spiders, big and small. If the maid would've cleaned thoroughly that morning, you'd seen one or two maybe but not so many. Also, the doors and walls were full of fingerprints from previous guests. And there was a t-shirt between the dresser and the wall, so she does never look around when she cleans? The joke of it all is that we had been given an envelope to tip the maid!

Despite…read moreit being weekdays and early in the tourist season, the bill ended up being $1,237.99 with parking, over $400 a night. We choose Hamptons because of the Hilton ownership oversight, although individually they are privately managed so quality will vary. Also this property did offer a genuine view of the ocean in the ocean facing rooms, which apparently is obscured by buildings in other nearby properties like Residence Inn. Our top floor corner room did offer great views, was clean and quiet, and reflected the relative newness of the property built in 2011. We appreciated being able to check in and choose the room ourselves with the Hilton app, one of the reasons we keep with the Hilton chain. They did give us the token Silver status benefit of bottled water when I requested it. Blocks wide construction was going on, including the large block this property is on and along the ocean front. This necessitated walking several blocks northeast to gain access to the lakefront path near the Narrow Gauge Railroad building. It also affected the room view. Once oceanside park construction is finally over it should be great for the various local hotels. For overnight parking you are essentially forced to use the $40 a day valet. The city owned Ocean Gateway Lot which we planned on using was closed due to construction of a new park, and apparently has been for some time. The privately owned $25 a day plus processing fee Ocean Gateway Garage is very sketchy according to Google reviews (2.6 stars) and will charge you an extra $25 if you leave after 800AM. The valeted cars are stored in small open lots either onsite or a couple blocks away from what we observed. Our experience with valet was not good. The second and third mornings we had to valet ourselves to get completely out, maneuvering around other cars and a parking lot hosing machine. The large self serve water container for ice water next to the front desk and the hot water container at the coffee bar were both empty on arrival, however they offered to get me some water when I pointed this out. We had requested an eventually received a rollaway bed. My girlfriend's daughter insists on separate beds for all of us. One great thing about Hamptons is that a rollaway bed added to a double queen room is not an issue, although the quality of the bed itself varies greatly. This one was terrible, with the center of it literally dropping to meet the floor. We also didn't get a top sheet or pillows. It took a couple requests but we did eventually get a sheet (still no pillow), and on the third night a new bed. The second bed was even worse than the first, with the bottom broken with a hole, see included image. When I mentioned it to the front desk our last night I didn't get a response, I think they were tired of dealing with it. Breakfast options were even sparser than the typical no frills Hampton breakfast. It was supposed to start at 600AM, but all three mornings the doors didn't open till between 610AM and 615AM. There is often a promo image of premium bakery bagels and cut fresh fruit for the free Hilton breakfast on the in-room TV at Hamptons, which in reality you rarely see. There was a couple bottles of Smucker's syrup for the waffles instead of something house made with actual fruit. The hard boiled eggs were unpeeled together in a container instead of pealed and in individual egg trey slots. The yogurt packs (one flavor) were not in a small fridge like they should be, but stacked in a box on an open air table and not cold. Are these yogurts thrown away after sitting out for hours or put back out each morning? We didn't see bagels, even the typical cheap grocery store ones. There was a box for actual fresh fruit, but it was empty the first two mornings. This property has great potential, particularly when the new park is in. Unfortunately it currently suffers dearly from lax management in all areas including front of house, valet, room support (rollaway bed), and breakfast

We have always had great experiences staying at Hampton Inn hotels. I was able to check in via the Hilton App and select a room. This location was great...on Fore street only about one block from the waterfront and surrounded by lots of shops and restaurants. The rooms were on the smaller side...but that is generally expected in larger/touristy cities. The rooms had comfortable beds, good water pressure, a microwave, a refrigerator and a desk/chair. There was also a large TV in the room with lots of channels. We did have an iron...but was missing an ironing board. Also, our bathroom door did NOT lock...the handle hardware seemed to be broken. They do offer free breakfast with a few hot options (such as eggs and sausages) as well as the typical continental items...breads, fruit, cereal and their signature waffle iron/maker. There is a pool and fitness center, but we did not visit either during our stay. Parking is valet-only and is $40 per night. You are given a ticket with your vehicle number and can text them when you want your car to be available. Your vehicle will be ready in a few minutes after sending the text. All the staff, including valet, we encountered were friendly, respectful and efficient.
