Needing just a basic place to stay, this Microtel did the trick. Pros .... 1. Clean 2. Easy check in 3. Breakfast included. Not the greatest but it's breakfast. 4. Comfortable beds Cons ... 1. Top comforter is ultra thin 2. Flat worn pillows 3. They ran out of extra pillows when we asked. Really??? 4. Dark parking lot. We ended up parking at the end and it was CREEPY to pull in to the dark area of the lot. It was adequate for a place to sleep but only for a night or two at best. read more

BEDBUG ALERT!! It has taken me a year to actually write this review. We traveled from Georgia to Maine to celebrate my daughter's 21st birthday with two of her friends. Maine is the state that my daughter was born and that we lived in until 2016, so it was important to go and celebrate her 21st birthday there with friends and family. I found Microtel Inn and Suites on Priceline, found that the price was good, and booked the hotel rooms for a week. As a whole, it was a wonderful vacation. But in the first couple days I noticed bites on my lower extremities. At first I didn't think much of it as we had visited my friend at her farm, and had been out and about with friends and family who have pets. But then I noticed new bites when we weren't close to any animals, barns, or the outdoors. The itching almost sent me over the top! Once the bites were healed, and yes it does take 1 to 2 weeks, after returning home I was really nervous in revealing that this hotel/motel had bedbugs. But now I feel that it is my 'YELP' duty to let others know that staying at this, or any hotel or motel, you should be very vigilant in looking in the creases of any mattress to make sure that they are clear of bedbugs. Once I started listening to some of the travelers on TikTok, and they showed how to look for bedbugs, I thought it was important to share this story. I love to travel, and I have never had any issues with bedbugs in the past... this was my very first incident and it certainly made an impression on me. I personally will not stay at this Windham hotel again, and will take care of myself and my family with the cleanliness of where we do stay. Be safe! Be vigilant! Not a good experience. Maybe I expect too much - like a room being cleaned before we get there. No carpet in the rooms and when the bed moved as we were bringing in our bags (as you can see in the picture) there's a line of dirt around the bed. According to Bill the front end manager "they do their best to vacuum (swifter mop) but it's hard to get under the bed". Right - you mean when they moped around the bed it moved the dirt in a line around the edge of the bed. As I mentioned, no carpet, just laminated floor so you could hear people upstairs walking around. Sounded like they were bowling above our heads. Pool towels were barely bigger than a hand towel that you have to get from the front desk every time. Per the front desk attendant when we commented about the size - "yeah I know, not my call". Pool insanely over chlorinated. Even after a shower we still smelled like chlorine. As I stood outside our room waiting for my husband, a housekeeping attendant was cleaning out the room next door. She drops the clean stack of towels on the ground and sighed. She looked over at me and said "ugh it's so hot in the hallway, so hard to work". She then proceeded to pick up the towels, dust them off and refold them before walking back in to finish setting up the room. Ice machines broken on 2 of their 3 floors. For $99 a night, I know not to expect too much but this was just not worth it. read more

Booked many rooms for a wedding party and multiple reservations were lost, reservations where made for the wrong nights (and then canceled since guests didn't arrive.. because it was the wrong night), one guest told me she saw a coach roach in her room, and all e-mail correspondence given very early on no one was aware of. Very disorganized and rude when trying to get this sorted out over the phone the morning of my sisters wedding. Was told all guests had to call to let them know they would be checking in late (denied early check ins- which I know can not be guaranteed) or else their room would be canceled. This after my sister emailed them with a full list of all guests that would be checking in late and was told that a "note would be added to all reservations"- which never happened. There must be better hotels in the area, look somewhere else. read more

Having an expected family issue ,I sent my kids there. There website said one thing , they charge a lot more. Then they added an undisclosed 50$ fee. Ok room dirty ,including condom wrapper. Oh and immediately took 50. But 3 to 5 days before they get,it back. At check he asked if he,could wait in lobby for,his ride. Me. Was rudely told,not,to hang around. Basically thrown out. Room was an average room. Breakfast was average too. The issue I had with the stay is the fact the hotel policy is to not clean, straighten up or provide fresh towels daily. On day two of our 6 day stay I had to ask them to provide clean towels and straighten up. I ended up taking the trash out as they didn't. We had to make the bed too. They gave us new towels, that's it! If there were other lodging options I would move to it. read more

I booked this hotel for one night during Labor Day weekend as my sister is getting married in norther Maine and I needed my baby to take a good rest to break up the ride. Upon arrival the desk clerk was extremely rude and acted annoyed that we were there, she said there would be a pack and play in the room and barely even greeted us before she shooed us away. Upon arriving in our room, the pack and play was there but not set up. When I went to set it up it reeked of Heinz and feeces and was covered in fresh stains. Please see photo below. I called down to the front desk very upset as we had just driven for five hours. I had to call three times before she answered and she did not even apologize. Or offer any alternative solution. Now my extremely overtired son had nowhere to sleep, and proceeded to scream and cry until 2:45 in the morning. The following morning when we went to check out I was told by a woman at the desk a manager would contact me about refunding my stay and making this right. And I am still yet to have heard from anyone. This is absolutely beyond sickening that it was thought this was acceptable to have us lie our baby down in an overwhelmingly smelly and stained bed. To top it off we also had to clean up public hair out of the drain when we went to bathe him, and their was dirty soap left in our bath tub. Again the front desk couldn't be bothered to even have apologized. I would expect this at a Motel 6, but not a Decent reputable hotel. I hope the manager makes this right. This hotel was a nice place to stay as we finished up our week long visit in Maine. It was clean and the rooms were relatively new and provided what we needed. The walls were not sound proof and we could hear the 6am alarm from the vacant room next door for over an hour before it turned itself off. We could also hear the little child next to us. The staff was extremely helpful. There are plenty of places to eat nearby as well as grocery stores. The hotel is also close to a lake and we were able to do a hiking trail. Up ta Maine for some family visits. PRO - Place is SUPER brand new. So it's clean. And it's CHEAP. $75 with tax for the night. Bed was comfortable (& again CLEAN) and though we were near the elevator, the hall was quiet. We were up front & there was some road noise, from the fairly busy road out front. If that sort of thing bothers you, ask for a rear facing room. We had a "micro-suite" with a couch (that folded out), microwave, small fridge & bar sink in the room. A 1/2 wall blocked the bed from the living area. There was a desk & shelf along the wall under the TV with a USB charger (ONE) there. Lamps had regular Ac/DC switches in them, so be sure to bring an adapter for that to charge your phone. Shower was clean & hot, had small bottles of toiletries. Double dead lock on the door, I always like that. There was a heated pool, but we didn't see it. Or smell it, which was nice. If you got kids, they always love a pool. Each floor had a washer dryer for you to use. Free Continental breakfast was as usual. Warm, weak coffee, scrambled eggs, sausage, muffins, yogurt. No fruit though. Whaddya want for nothing? CON - Again it's CHEAP. Cheesy-looking fake fireplace as you walk into the small lobby with limited seating. TINY vanity counter around the small bathroom sink, really limits where you can put your toiletries. (Bar sink in room has no mirror over it to do your stuff there). No blankets or extra pillows in the closets. (Found them the next AM in the ottoman near the couch) My biggest problem was the thin walls let me hear the guy in the next room snore the night away. SO - If you are up this way & don't want to spend alot for a brief stay, this place is fine. Bring earplugs & you'll be really happy. And remember to look in the ottoman if you need another blanket. read more

Going to miss our late night swims in the amazing salt water pool, free yummy breakfast (lots of options - waffles, bagels, pancakes, yogurt, cereal, hard boiled eggs,oatmeal, pastries) coffee all day, and mini gym at this hotel where we've been living the last couple weeks while my new house gets renovated here in Windham. We've had the best experience overall here, all inclusive, great amenities, clean, new, modern, a spacious room and overall a comfortable place we've got to call home for a bit. ALL the staff is excellent, warm and friendly! My 4 year old even played with a couple of the staff's small kids who were visiting a few times. Because we basically lived her we spent a lot of time hanging out in the eating area and lobby while my son watched tv and I worked. And we felt comfortable and welcomed every time. Stear Clear-- Rude Staff, Bad Conditions I booked 1 night for 2 different weeks at this excuse for an inn, as I was going to be passing through the area 2 different times. On the first night, as I walked up to the room I, noticed that there there were small items of trash on the floor here and there, a band-aid for instance and other items that made it appear that there had not been much quality vacuuming. And by the time I got to my room, I was having a reaction to the poor air quality, some smells that I couldn't place. You know when you start wonder if the "air fresheners" are covering up something worse? Well, whatever they were coving up my eyes were getting red and watery, and I started to cough. Hoping that it was just this room, I took a walk about the place, but my symptoms persisted. In fact, they didn't abate until I left the hotel. So, when I met the manager, whose name I later learned is "Kelly" , I explained the situation. She was definitely the rudest employee at any hotel that I've ever encountered! Here I am -- many hours from my home-- I clearly have no place to stay for the night and she decides to lecture me about reading about hotels more carefully before I book. She told me that she would refund both of my reservations; however, that was not true, and I still have a bill for over $250 from the hotel-- a hotel that I couldn't stay at. read more

We rented 3 rooms for 3 nights. The hotel and staff were amazing the first night. The 2nd day was miserable from around 3pm-8pm. There was a party that had rented a space below our windows. They had speakers turned up so loud that our room was vibrating. I could actually feel the floor vibrating through my shoes. After two hours of pure misery, I went down and asked the receptionist if she could have them turn it down just a little. Her response was no. They had rented this area and quiet hours started at 10. She said she would asked again, indicating that another guest had asked as well, however, if they didn't wish to turn it down, we had to put up with it. This is absolutely not acceptable. I called the corporate office of Wyndham hotels and was told that they actually couldn't do anything because this hotel is privately owned. They suggested I contact the owner. Instead I'm going to post this review so everyone can see it. I suggest that you call and ask if there's going to be any parties scheduled the days that you will be there. Otherwise you will be just as miserable as we were. And nothing will be done. On the 3rd night it sounded if furniture was being moved on the floor above us for about two hours. It's convent and close to town. Prices are fairly cheap and rooms are a good size. Pretty clean. There's not a fridge in some of the rooms, and the tv connection was spotty at best, but a really good place to stay. Plus they have waffles in the morning :) read more

Checked in for one night attending an event locally. Room was nice, staff is pleasant, breakfast is average, facilities - pool and gym - slightly below average. Pillows were lumpy but bed was nice. Price was reasonable and would come back if in the area. Only complaint - the staff is a bit loud and constantly socializing so you feel like you are interrupting them when you have a question, they also seem to be taking full advantage of perks while working, drinking coffee and eating breakfast while manning the front desk. read more

The only negative is that the room doors are very heavy and tend to slam shut so in the morning as people are leaving for the day it can be noisy. My experience with the Microtel was less than stellar. We reserved a block for our wedding weekend, and were given no incentives to use this hotel. The price on the rooms were high, even with the block discount, and many of our guests trying reserving a room in the block were told there were no rooms left in the block, and went elsewhere. When I called to reserve a room for ourselves, we were told there was no block under our name, and they were adamant that we must be mistaken. The whole system for blocking rooms is a cluster. We requested early check-in for our room the night before the reservation, and were told they were booked solid, and should call back in the morning. We were eventually granted early check-in (and also were told there were numerous open rooms). Upon arriving at the hotel, we were greeted with "Check-in is at 3:00." There was no, "Did you request early check-in by chance?" To be honest, the host was very short, and didn't appear approachable, not to mention, was wearing a very dirty uniform. In addition, most times, the reception desk was left unattended with a line of people waiting to speak to someone. Yes, the room was clean and tidy, but to me, the experience includes all phone conversations, and interactions with the staff, who were less than accommodating.
