I live out of province and feel like I'm being held hostage by this company. Every dispute I, and my tenants have with them, and there have been many, always favours Mid-City. This is not acheived by rational negotiation, but rather by being hung up on, swearing matches, unanswered phone calls and general inaction. This is with the manager/co-owner! Anything beyond depositing a cheque in my account (at a cost of 9%), everything else is charged: $40 to put a pin back in the track of a sliding closet door(my tenants are elderly), two $75 visits from a plumber, that according to my tenants, did nothing. I paid for a new fridge; Mid-City purchased one with the door opening the wrong way and did not have it levelled. I told MId-City they were responsible to sort this out, they made the purchase. This was their mistake. They are my representative and my tenants are not happy. For that, I was hung up on, and nothing, further, was done! Prior to even having tenants, I was offered an opportunity, by MId-City, to donate the contents of my condo to another Mid-City customer that had just arrived in Canada. I was told that it would be greatly appreciated. I was charged almost $300 to 'remove' the greatly appreciated contents! I wonder how much they charged the recipient to have it delivered?! Another $200 was charged for cleaning the condo. Myself and four of my relatives spent three days cleaning it before I put it up for rent. The windows needed re-washing, otherwise, It was spotless. I don't know if the whole company is a nightmare or just the person I have to deal with(manager/owner!) Outside of putting tenants in my condo, who are long-term, this company is extremely unprofessional, untrustworthy and a total rip off!! I dread having to deal with them. read more
