This is a not a gym for self workouts. Classes are listed on their website with times and different instructors. They make it easy to sign up for classes, through an online registration program. Each instructor has their own quirky personalities and intensity. This is the kind of place you go to sweat. I have taken spin and TRX classes, and I have never been disappointed. If this is your first time, get there early, chat with the owners who are almost always at the front desk. You will be greeted with smiles as you walk through the door.

Wow! What a great workout!…read more When I first walked in to Believe Fitness I received a warm welcome from co owner Valerie who helped me to my class. Her co owner and husband, Walter was my Instructor for the TRX Team Class and he made me feel right at home as did their friendly members. I have taken many TRX classes in the past and I can say without hesitation that Walter is one of the best! His teaching style is engaging, challenging and encouraging. He coached us to each work at our own level, taking into account our differences and at the same time gave us plenty of options to make each exercise as intense as we wanted. Although it was a group class, Walter customized the workout making it feel personally suited to each of us. The facility is impeccably clean and organized. The decor was bright and welcoming. They have a variety of equipment and ample space to move around as well as super clean bathrooms and showers.

So easy to talk to and I emailed about gift certificates and when I arrived, they had them already done and waiting for me, that was such great service. I really cannot express how polite they all are. Now the gym itself has so much to offer from classes to massages, to health help and of course workout machines and equipment. I haven't even scratched the surface on how much they have. I told my son, I want to take a few days and go through and use each one, just to see what else we can incorporate into our workout routine. There is a small smoothie cafe in the front and they're not open 24 hrs, but if that is something you're looking for, give that a try. They have an upstairs as well that offer more machines and workout space. They offer a large woman (I'm sure men's too) restroom with a shower. They have lockers too, if that is something you need. Overall, this is a very clean and nice gym to go to.

My schedule is crazy and I like the fact that I don't have to arrive by a specific time. I'm a competitive powerlifter and NEF has everything I need to do my main lifts as well as all accessories. I've very rarely had to wait for a piece of equipment. Love having the smoothie bar right there too. Plenty of parking. Convenient location.

One of the wonderful things since the former BNAS was decommissioned by the Navy is that much of the infrastructure is now available to the residents of Brunswick, where I now live. This includes places like this. While not fancy or particularly high-tech as fitness facilities go, there is a gym for basketball, a small fitness room with treadmills, free weights, and other cardio equipment. There are also a host of classes ranging from yoga, pilates, barre classes, etc. I've done some of their beginner's yoga classes and they're great! What I like about the Landing as the days get colder and I'm not going to get out on my bike or run outside, is that I can drop by (it's 3 miles from my house) and find a treadmill available in the morning or early afternoon. After spending the morning looking at a computer screen, I'm due for a dose of endorphins. Oh, and the staff here are just amazingly friendly and welcoming. After a recent experience with another fitness facility on the other side of town that made me feel like I was imposing on their little clique of insiders, this is refreshing and how I want to have my doses of fitness administered--with a smile and a friendly greeting. Is that so hard to do?

A chilly Saturday afternoon was perfect for stepping through this yoga studio's door. The lobby area was clean and well organized. Coat hooks and cubbies for belongings, curtained off changing stalls and benches for readying for practice, and items for sale for any level yogi. The woman running the workshop was friendly and remembered my name from the facebook event page. Oddly enough this was comforting to know that she wanted to put faces and names together. I had done all the paperwork and payment online so she invited me to settle in where I felt comfortable. I found my spot near a wall located near the exit (I don't like he feeling of being surrounded) and made myself comfortable. I listened to the many people that were chatting and milling about. All runners of course, of all levels. I have always found comfort and familiarity with this clan of people, being brought up in a family that all ran and a dad that did marathons. What a great way to keep connections open during the cold months as a runner. As people settled in and squished in, the yoga instructor introduced herself and encouraged questions during the two hour workshop. She stated it would not be very "zen" as this was a time to explore how to help each person with their running and stretching. Yoga began and it was pretty apparent by the grunts and questions that their were many non-yogis present, but all were and felt welcomed to share this experience. As a group we learned many stretches we didn't realize was important to running nor did I know they existed. I found the two hours to fly by due to how intriguing and new a lot of it was. I again will say I look forward to going to some of their regular classes and maybe another workshop. The woman running this workshop was very knowledgable about all that we did and would use many stretches as a time to educate us on the stretch and how it affects us. I only hesitate on the workshop due to the amount of people she let join this workshop. She capped it at 25 I believe and this room just was not meant for that many. Maybe 20? I did a few stretches half way due to having to squish up to the wall and having a lady's mat around 6 inches from mine. At one point when doing a floor stretch, her leg hovered over my shoulder while I was laying down. Too close for comfort I will say.

The studio is located near Bow Street Market in Freeport, with plenty of parking. There is an extensive schedule with plenty of class options to fit your needs, and the classes are clearly labelled with useful descriptions to help you choose the best fit for you. Terry the owner is an excellent instructor, and I always learn something new in her classes. Great queuing, plenty of modifications offered both up and down, and an all around great community vibe. She is also a runner and offers runner specific classes. Well worth the drive up from Portland, or down from the coast. Easily the best yoga studio I've found in Southern Maine.
