The staff at Bayshore took care of all Piper's needs just as they took care of our needs as the devoted family of a sweet little dog. Now, 16 years later, our Piper grew tired and needed us to make a decision regarding her quality of life. Dr. Kay Monroe and her staff were completely empathetic and conscientious of the painful choice we had to make between selfishly keeping Piper alive and as comfortable as possible with us - or allowing her to rest peacefully after a long life well lived. When the time came to let Piper go, Dr. Monroe gently and lovingly put Piper into her final sleep, quietly talking us through the procedure. We knew through her actions that the doctor fully understood our pain. We now imagine Piper running and jumping and playing at the green pasture by the Rainbow Bridge just as she frolicked years ago with our family.
