I don't post reviews very often but my experience at Midas was so bad that I feel compelled to. My wife took our Audi Q7 to Midas I believe for an inspection. They told her that she needed new tires immediately. They put on ~$2500 winter tires on her car, not in the winter, and without telling her that they were putting winter tires on the car. Additionally, one of the tires was installed with the reverse tread direction. $600 per tire is absurd, they ripped her off. The MSRP on those tires on Tirerack is $328!! Then to compensate her for her experience they said we could have a free oil change. They changed the oil but didn't reinstall the crush washer/gasket so now the car is leaking oil, I have to get someone else to change the oil and we have a large oil stain on our driveway. I would give them 0 stars if I could. read more

I've been a customer since 2015. I've watched as the quality has gone down and prices have gone up. Beginning with Rich who lied to customers about his role and capabilities, this shop has not been able to hold onto managers for very long. We've had 5 since 2015. I've had concerns for at least 3 years(actually going back to just after Hakim left), but it's hard to find "good" mechanics and I felt like I should just stick with this shop and give each mew manager a chance. MY BAD!! Mechanics can't repair minor issues like frayed wire. Instead, they sold us a new headlamp at least twice. Went to another mechanic last year because the headlamp would go on and off, and for just under $100, they repaired the frayed wire in 15 minutes (not including driving to go grab the part). Brakes cost us $1000 dollars and the brake pads they put on wear out quickly no matter how you drive. I've never had to replace brakes as often as with these guys and I'm suspicious of whether I ever really needed them. Based on the advice I got from the mechanic who fixed the wire (he was retiring), I went to repairpal.com to choose a mechanic. I took the car to this new mechanic this morning. He just called to give me the cost of new rotors on the front brakes, new pads on all brakes, a new tire, and an oil change. $575!!!! I'm blown away. I've clearly been ripped off time and time again by this Midas shop and I'm beyond angry. I will NEVER ever give them my business again. If I could have rated no stars, I would have. And to the owner: don't bother responding with an apology and platitudes. You have enough consistently lousy reviews that show you aren't addressing these issues. Get your shop in order! That's putting your apologies into action. Otherwise, they're just words that mean absolutely nothing. read more

I called last minute to see if I could get my tires rotated. Alberto told me to come over and they did it really fast. Alberto had me sign up for a Midas card which upon approval had my rotation done for free. I had an extremely disappointing experience with not only the quality of care provided here but the customer care and value. I brought my car in for fairly routine work prior to a road-trip: oil change, tire rotation and air filter change. After seeing my car a tire alignment was suggested which I went through with. Two days later after my 12 hr road-trip, my car was parked and I woke up to an oil leak. There was no oil left in my car & I needed to get oil from a gas station to top it off in order for my car to be safely driven to another Midas. At this second Midas, I was informed the oil filter was never tightened with about 3cm of space left for it to be screwed and a double gasket was put on. My tires were also not rotated. I had to have an entire new oil change and am lucky that the oil did not leak into my engine and total my car. When I contacted this Midas and spoke to the manager I was informed I would be reimbursed for the second oil change that I paid for due to their failure to complete the first one successfully. However, I was told they have done their part and nothing will be done to refund or address the money I paid for the labor and services of the first oil change. When I bring my car to be serviced and pay for such services, as a customer you are anticipating it to be done correctly. I paid for such services and they were not done correctly and put myself and in my car in a very unsafe circumstance. The manager has told me there is nothing he can or will do on his part to address this issue, merely only to rightfully reimburse me for the second oil change and tire rotation I paid for out of state that were only required due to their failure to perform it the first time. At the end of day, I paid for services that were not done correctly or safely and received no compensation or attempts for anything to be remedied from the manager and this establishment. I do not write this review lightly and do not often write reviews unless I have a significantly pleasant or bad experiences. I will not be ever brining my car here again and I would strongly caution anyone else to do so. read more

This place is a straight up hustle. Price gouging for inspections up to $3000 for obscure items. We needed to pay $65 to take our car without a passed inspection. We then took the car to a different inspection location. They charged us for the inspection service and wiper blades and did not mention any other issues. The car passed inspection without issue at a different mechanic. read more

I was mislead and believe cheated by this Midas and it's employees. They charged me $1,100 for brake pads and rotors on just 1 axle of car when I had asked for a quote on all 4 tires leaving me to believe it would be $1,100 for both axle or 4 tires. They also charged me more than $400 for what the pads and rotors cost them. They are unscrupulous and deceitful and I highly recommend never giving this place any of your business unless you don't mind being ripped off! read more

Stopped by to book a timeslot for state inspection, got out of the car, sensed the strong weed smell, walked few steps towards backside to figure out what's going on - you bet, there were someone working there with a joint in hand. Got right back into the car and left, and God damn would I ever return. Here's the thing: I personally don't give a heck of how people get themselves high - ON THEIR SPARE TIME. You need a good ol' deep inhale to relax after work & feel better - fine, I'm for it! But work on my car stoned? No, thank you very much - and see you never again. P.S. And that perfectly explains previous reviews there: helplessly underqualified personnel trying to charge outrageously out of whack prices for their "job". Here's example from my personal experience: got thumping noise coming from somewhere around the drivetrain while gear is engaged & car's rolling with accelerator released. Got there, been told something like "boss, these are front brake disks - they're warped". And then they named a price of... $500+, of which they brazenly tried to rip me off around 220+ for parts (yes, two discs + pads for 8 year old Elantra). You all probably already bet what happened: I got 'em parts from the same store they order it from (there only one around in the area) for half the price (and that is overpriced on it's own, but I can't afford to wait for online delivery), did that job myself - it took me half an hour (and I'm not a mechanic & have no power tolls - otherwise it's no more than 15 min), and... it reveals problem was NOT THERE (it turns out later with another guys that it's been a gearbox giving out). The bottom line: avoid at all costs, this place is a TRASH. P.P.S. Why did I ever thought of giving them another chance? Now I don't know that myself, the only thing is they're so conveniently around the corner... read more

Was put on hold each time for 10 + minutes in which no one ever came back. Tried to schedule an online appointment and they never got back to me. I suppose these folks have too much work so I would recommend going to your local neighborhood garage to give them the $$. read more

This used to be the shop I always went to but after last year this place went downhill. For example I wanted to get a oil change first day the guy said they are busy come back tomorrow and I went at 8am. I went second day the guy there said there is no mechanic here. Third day I went real early the guy said mechanic won't be here till 10am . So I went to a local shop they did it in less than 30 min. read more

I'd give this place no stars if I could. I've been going for here for a while and have always trusted them. Took my car in for inspection, tires, shocks and brakes and returned with it making a bunch of noises. Took it back and they told me it was my fault from a small fender bender (happened two years previous btw) and was told they didn't do it and it was just the back rubbing against my muffler and it needed to replaced. Where rude and acted like I had no idea what I was complaining about. Whatever. Took it too a collision shop not long later to get it fixed and one of my shocks was almost completely disconnected. The shop didn't even know how my car was able to drive for the week it did. They put it up and immediately saw the shocks and found the reason for all the shaking and "noise" Midas said was a cosmetic issue I caused. Never will trust or recommend this place again. read more

Got a flat tire and AAA said to try and get an internal plug to save the tire. Called a bunch of places and then I called here about 15 minutes before they closed asking if they could look at the tire for me. They took the tire that night, staying late just to help. Then the next day the explained everything in great detail and put my tire back on, all in less then 24 hours. It was excellent service. read more

This Midas location filled the crankcase of my vehicle with oil that is more expensive than what I requested and what is specified by the vehicle manufacturer (the service writer also attempted to sell unneeded parts). When I brought to the attention of the manager the oil issue, he became defensive. When I pressed for a refund in the amount of the difference between the two oils, he not only refused, but also became belligerent. There is nothing positive this shop offers, certainly not customer service, that cannot be found elsewhere and I strongly recommend you find it elsewhere. read more

I was getting ready to take a trip to Virginia and needed a quick oil change. I popped into this Midas and they started taking care of my car right away. I even asked them to look at exhaust pipe that Nissan said needed replacing and they gave me full assessment on that as well. I don't think I would ever bring my car to chain shop for a more serious need like others mention. My advice find a good family run place that lives and dies on reputation and word of mouth. read more

I went to this place several times and was satisfied with their service, but a couple of incidents have caused me to NEVER want to go back. My car was making an awful sound when I drove, so I took it in. I was told the sound was my break pads and they needed replacement (and they really did). So, I got the break pads replaced. But the noise continued. I brought it back by and told them the car was still making noise. They looked at it again and assured me it was nothing- they said something about a wheel baring, but told me it was fine and safe, nothing could be done, and I shouldn't worry about it. Well, the noise continued and it got worse. I brought the car in for an oil change, at which point they told me the noise was the belts. I didn't get the belts changed at the time, as I wanted a second opinion. I decided to take the car somewhere else to get new tires and to get the noise checked out, as it continued to get worse. The new place told me that the wheel baring on one of my wheels was so messed up that the wheel was about to come off of the car. Had to get that replaced, and because it had gone on so long, I had to get the hub replaced as well. This was obviously a really dangerous situation, but the guys at Midas failed to detect it, even with multiple checks. Another (minor, but still frustrating) thing that happened: my windshield washers do not work. They didn't work when I got my car. I got them fixed last year (not at MIdas), but they stopped working again. I asked the guys at Midas if I needed the washers to work in order to pass inspection- if so, I was going to go and get them fixed at the previous place while they were still under warranty. The Midas guys assured me that the wipers needed to work, but the washers did not. Well, now I'm reading the PA state code regarding inspection, and I see that the windshield washers DO, in fact, have to work to pass inspection. Now, I should have checked this myself earlier, but it is disconcerting that the guys who do inspection didn't even know something as simple as that. read more

I stopped in for a quick visit to just get a headlight put in and oil change. Unfortunately when I left I realized that work was not done completely or the wrong way and my headlight was still not on. I plan on going back tomorrow and hopefully the issue will be resolved but it is annoying that I will have to go back to get such a minor issue resolved. Should have been done right and tested before I left the location. Their courtesy check was nice as they brought me out to the vehicle and ran me through a couple things that can be done as far as keeping up the vehicle, but I just wish I didn't have to go back. Update: I am deciding to upgrade my review to 3 stars. When I arrived everything was done to resolve the issue. When I arrived they told me that the bulb I bought blew out which is hard to believe an hour after it was installed but did everything possible to resolve the issue without charge. I may not go back to this location but I appreciate what they did to make sure I left this time with a working headlight read more

Not only did they say that they couldn't do it that day because they were so busy, they said the next available slot was 2 days later. Is there no way to anticipate these things? I was going to this location for a while. Then my car needed a distributor cap and wires replaced, and was missing. Took it to Midas and they insisted the entire distributor was bad, and the car was disabled after driving it to the shop. So I had little choice but to pay. Now, 5 months later, the distributor, or one of its components failed and stranded me. The shop where I took it said the aftermarket distributor was the culprit. I am demanding a refund from Midas of $690.57 for their work, which just cost me $869.00 to correct. Will update as this unfolds Midas location did give me a partial refund, so I updated my review. read more

I went in for a replacement muffler. The old muffler that was on there (from Wynnewood Citgo) was the wrong size and shape, and it was falling off as a result. I was happy with the quick service and the price here at this Midas shop. The manager actually gave me a deal below the listed price. I don't recommend drinking their free coffee. read more

Had my car serviced today (3rd car in last few months--Toyota Yaris). I have spent approximately $2000 during that time, but will NOT return. Aside from replacing air filter and cabin filter which was not really needed, they performed an oil change which was to include tire rotation which was NOT done. Front passenger tire is without a hubcap and when I picked up the car and paid the bill, the same tire was in place.....NO tire rotation was performed. Really disappointing after having spent this much money over the past few months (and close to $2000 last year). read more

The people at this Midas do not know what they are doing. They are rude and not helpful, however, they are happy to take your money. I went into this Midas to have a state inspection and emissions test. They had a coupon online, great. At first all was well. They took the coupon, told me I could wait for the car, and pulled it into the shop. After about an hour, they come out and tell me they haven't completed the inspection and the emissions test would not run. I needed to drive the car about 100 miles as the sensors are not working. Before I leave, though, they make me pay the whole fee. Conveniently, they have forgotten the coupon. They tell me oh well, come back another day once you have driven the car and we will take the $20 off. This should have been my first warning that these people were not reputable. So I drive 100+ miles that morning and come back. I'm a bit worried I will never see any money back at this point. The emissions test still does not work. They tell me there is nothing more that I can do other than drive another 50-100 miles. After some protest, I leave (at least with the $20 off my card). I go outside and I call the old dealership in the state where I was from, who I trust, and ask them their advice. They tell me something that has worked for them (a hell of a lot easier and quicker than driving another hour or two & something I easily found on the internet). I call this shop back and speak with the manager who tells me bring the car back in and they will try it. I bring it back in for the third time that day and they say that they would be right with me. After sitting there for 20 minutes, they tell me they would not try what my old shop had suggested. In fact, they are keeping the money and have a nice day. Why the manager would tell me to come back in only for them to refuse service is beyond me. This shop either has no idea what they are doing or they are more than happy to take advantage of a situation and make some money off of it. And if you have a problem, don't try calling the number they give you for a regional manager. No one picks up and there is no machine to leave a voicemail. DO NOT TRUST THE MIDAS TOUCH AND DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR HERE. read more

I visited this location for the first time and was impressed with the quality of work and experience that Jake and his crew exerted. All of the guys worked diligently in getting my oil change done, and even offered to check my tire pressure free of charge before I left. I have been taking my cars to Midas in Bryn Mawr for several years and my experiences have all been Good. They have kept my out of warranty autos safe and serviceable. Appointments are easy to schedule in timely fashion and the cars have been finished in the time frames promised. Prices are reasonable with coupons for common services. Unlike some dealerships, I have not experienced recommendations for unnecessary service. They actually have mechanics who know how to fix (not just replace) things. For brakes, tires, inspection, emissions, serpentine belt and tensioner replacement, exhaust, etc. -- Midas Bryn Mawr does the job. Auto repair and service is a tough business and Shann manages this with integrity and a friendly manner. read more

This time bill came in a little higher than expected as a part was added late but overall I like this place. Much better than one in king of Prussia which seems to try and rip u off. When I called to make sure that is the price man on the phone told e that it was going to be $60 because synthetic blend oil. Midas in Brynmawr is a bogus service center. Went in yesterday morning for front brake pad replacement on my BMW 328i xdrive (2014). Was getting late to work in the moring so I have decided to drop off my car , a couple of hours later I have recieved a call from one of the guys at Midas saying that both my front and rear brake pads and rotors need to be changed, at this point I got really angry on that guy since I recently got the rear brakes replaced from bmw, However, the guy who called me claimed that they are going to ware out after a couple of thousand miles (My BMW shows that I am good for the next 30000 miles approx ). I said a bold NO, i dont want them replaced. however I said okay for the front rotor since I did not check the condition of the rotor before hand and I really needed my car. On the phone the guy said the entire cost would be 380 ish . but when I went to the store my total bill was 480 approx for front brake pads (semi metallic) , front rotor and brake sensor and inspection for which I had a coupon, i told the guy over phone already that I had coupon and he said he added it on my bill, but he didn't add that in the bill. when I went to the store and checked my bill carefully, it was missing and when I asked him he then added the coupon. -- all the parts used were centric , according to the guy whom I talked to. In my bill the price for the brake sensor was close to 50 $ and I was super shocked (I searched the entire internet for the most expensive brake sensor BMW and nothing was even close to the price on the bill-- 4-5 times higher than the list price)-- midas guys, you are already charging us a heck lot for labor pls do not rob us in the price for parts as well. I am very sure , they would have done the same with the brake pads and rotors too. All those who are reading this review, do not go to this Midas. I am not even satisfied with the work that they have done on my car and really really poor customer service. I wish I could give negative stars but couldnt so 1 star. read more

These are honest mechanics you can trust. I've been going there for a couple of years now and they consistently go above and beyond each time. They have fixed my car while I was out of town and couldn't be there to deliver it or pick it up. I've thought there were big problems before and it turned out it was a minor fix. They've replaced fluid for free twice. I love this place and feel like they save me every time I go there. Great neighborhood shop. read more

My wife and I go to Midas for all of our auto needs. We live right down the street and whenever we call the manager remembers us and is always accommodating. Their prices are always fair and they never try to push unneeded items on you. In fact, one time he even suggested we go elsewhere to get a better price on something. We highly recommend this specific Midas. Nothing but high praise! read more
