On Nov. 25 2025 had an appt. to get my tires swapped out (summer to winter) Everything was fine till I got text from Midas about finance availability & estimate as well as pictures. then the phone rang and it was Midas calling to let me know I needed a cabin air filter and brake fluid flush. I only wanted my tires switched. I informed him that I just had a service done at dealer we I bought the car & without knowing the history of warranties or maintenance program he informed me that I had been going there for 5 years and had not so much as bought a bulb.(I informed him I did not need a bulb) and at that point told me he did not need my business and told me to get out of his office.To confirm my suspicions I went to my service provider and they confirmed what I already knew. It was a con. After 4 years of satisfactory service It came crashing down. I am a 75 year old senior for the first time in 54 years I was told to get out and do not come back. I recommend if you go there to be careful. If he is the business owner that is not good business & if not the owner should take a look. Parked my car and entered the office with any welcoming a grumpy guy was there well I started nicely and friendly well he was so grumpy he asked some questions for paper work then said leave your car and come back in 1 hour!!! I was thinking he will do it right away for me even east that's busy but anyway I couldn't wait or leave my car . When I informed him that I wanna go I don't need the service it's just a matter of time he looked shocked. Brought my car in for muffler and oil change. Adam was very excellent at explaining my procedure and recommended a wheel allignmentas well. The next day I drove the car and felt the alignment was out , so Adam took me right back in the next day and explained the alignment was spot on, and the tires needed repositioning because of tire wear. I had had no idea the winter tires were worn, even when I had another garage put them on recently. I appreciate Adam's safety standards, kindness and due diligence. While driving on HWY 1 another motorist notified me that I had a low front tire. I took the first exit and luckily there was a gas station with an air pump. I filled the tire but could hear it leaking air. After a quick Google search I phoned Midas on Willingdon and Dawson. Even though they were super busy they said they could help me out. My tire was losing a lot of air and there was no way I would make it home. After I arrived, I figured they would fit me in when they had time (which was OK by me). But to my surprise they put it in the shop right away! My tire was repaired in less than an hour! Wow. I am very grateful to Midas for their attentive service. I highly recommend this location for their outstanding customer service. They exceeded my expectations, and the tire is as good as new. There are not a lot of businesses that would go out of their way like this to assist a brand new customer. Trying to sell a vehicle during the pandemic is difficult, let alone selling one without alot of mechanical history. After many car "showings" with lowball offers after 5 weeks on the market, I decided to take it in and get it looked at. This would allow me to show the inspection paper to any potential buyers. I decided on this Midas location for a Pre-Purchase Inspection because it's convenient location to my workplace. I found this shop to be quick and professional. I called ahead and made an appointment for the next day. I was able to drop off my car and pick it up after lunch (as I work nearby). They even offered if I wanted to pick it up at the end of the day. Very friendly and courteous. Of course, the car had a few minor issues, but the manager (I didn't get his name) explained it all to me until I could understand. This only cost $99 + tax, so around $113 total. Great deal, considering now I had the confidence to sell my mother's car, and I sold it very quickly after this. read more

I'll start by saying the customer service rep was pleasant, friendly helpful. And he lied. I dropped off a mounted flat tire 2 days ago to get patched or plugged. A patch involves marking the tire so as to not mess with the balancing, - you line the marks up when remounting the tire - and provided you haven't disturbed the weights - it will be just as it was before removing tire from rim and installing a patch. A plug is much easier and involves installing a glued rubber plug into the hole. In my case they plugged it. The price was $39. I asked if they balanced the wheel. He said yes they did as it was included in the price. Upon receiving the tire, which the customer rep kindly wheeled to my van and put in a nice white plastic bag to protect my interior, I discovered it was plugged, not patched and the tire had not in fact been dismounted or balanced as included in the price. The original weights were still in place, They put in a $1.00 plug. Takes about 10 minutes. My blood boils with bullsh$t shops like this. Don't lie to the customer as they may actually know something about automotive repair. I called him on it, words were exchanged, F-bombs flew and he told me to go to Kal-Tire. He also mentioned I was the 2nd rude customer today. Hmmmm So. I hope you all learned a lesson on tire repair today and I also hope you never have to go to this shop ever. IN RESPONSE TO MIDAS - Don't talk to me, talk to your employees and those who set your customer service policies. I have nothing more to say on the matter. RE:KAL-TIRE BOUNDARY RD BURNABY - Friend of mine had struts replaced by them. They were faulty after 3 months and 3000k. Kal-Tire wanted 1200 bux to replace their faulty struts, plus a 4 wheel alignment, rear struts too, blah blah B.S. B.S. total rip-off. read more

When I moved to the tri-city area I tried to find a new auto shop but could not find anyone that made me feel so well taken care of and reassured that my car is running properly. I keep going here even though I moved because of their great customer service and thorough work. Recently, they had to reschedule my appointment (for unforeseen circumstances) even though I drove all the way out. We called to set an appointment and all was good. When we got there however, we were treated differently. There was a worker standing in the lot. We opened our window to ask where we should go but before we could say a word he pointed to the office and said "there's a guy you talk to in the office". We talked to the guy in the office and he said our service would take 3 to 4 hours. Knowing he was lying we decided to go elsewhere. As we were leaving he changed his story saying "well, I just can't tell people it will be an hour". Excellent service today from Manager Aaron and his crew, who put our winter tires on our van. They responded very promptly to my online appointment enquiry and were able to fit me in on the day I requested, Aaron recognized my vehicle and knew who I was when I entered the reception area, they were able to also fit in an oil change at the last minute, and using SMS to inform me when my van was ready was convenient. These clowns are far from auto service experts, they are rip offs, they do exactly that, they rope you in with some apparent "good deal" seasonal service special and then they go in for the kill by trying to hit you with all kinds of expenses. BEWARE, this is real and they get totally unethical and ruthless if you tell them they are too expensive or you are going to get your car fixed elsewhere. They literally called the cops to tell them my car was unsafe for the road and insisted on towing it, after I would not fix with them, even the BCAA rep was shocked, he had never seen this kind of action from a auto repair service and was glad to hear how they treat customers, to avoid sending people to this Midas, REAL poor business ethic to try and manipulate clients to spend money with them. The 2 clowns Aaron and Tony, work in cahoots as a tactical ripoff team, with the only good review being Aaron himself. They literally quote almost 3-4 times more than any other place and they over charge almost 10 times on parts. We had the service done at their shop and then the same thing they quoted us $800 for brakes and then eventually came down to $600, still double what i could have got it for, so a month after their "expert service" and checkup, my brakes get all soft, so i regrettably take it to back to them as it should not be happening and then I get another call to spend $600 to both rear brakes, so I say no way and then they say I can do only one, for half. I tell them I am not interested and that I will come get my car, only to arrive with them having called the cops to impound my vehicle. no notification or courtesy call, nothing just simple bad customer service and business ethic. Like everyone else has said these guys are con artists, i am a car guy and know everything about my cars. I was selling a vehicle and the potential buyer chose this midas shop to look it over. These jokers lied about everything and basically said it wasn't road worthy LOL. The commercial vehicle was looked after by the dealership since i bought it. I truly feel sorry for all the people that have been lied to over the years these guys are criminals. Short answer to non car educated people and everyone else, do not go to this terrible rip off of a shop. Drove the car in (easily, as it was running fine and the brakes worked although noisily) for diagnostics and possibly repairs. When I was given a quote for $2100 I decided to take the car home and park it for the weekend while I considered my options (it's a 2006 Sonata). When I picked it up, I was told they had discovered a new problem (that would cost another $300 to $500 to fix) and my car had a whole new issue! I wasn't able to drive it home, but did drive it around the corner as I had a suspicion I was being conned, and had it towed (I didn't have up to $2600 any more than I had $2100). I called Midas about the drastic change in my car and was told they knew the issue had arose and it was clearly the Mass Airflow Sensor issue they'd discovered this morning. When the car arrived home, my ex husband and the tow truck driver took a very brief look under the hood and discovered the air intake hose was not properly attached. It took screwing in one screw and the issue causing my car to die was resolved. If I wasn't being conned, I was certainly dealing with incompetence. Either way, I will never return and will be warning everyone I know. Stay away from this place!! read more

Beware, they will try and rip you off. I moved back to Vancouver and therefore I needed a car inspection. I took my car into Canadian Tire. Everything passed except for a leaking flange in the exhaust. I took it to midas and they told me the whole catalytic system needed changing. Quoted me $2400. HA!! I told them it's not worth the value of the car to do the whole thing.(1997 Subaru Outback) I told them just to replace the pipe and flange as requested by Canadian Tire. The cost was just over $200. My car passed the inspection. read more

Sent an email request for an appointment (as per their website) and got an automated email reply saying they'll respond in one business hour (being it was after business hours at the time I thought at least the next day...) and 3 days later I never heard back. Took my car for an oil change somewhere else in the meantime. Maybe in person they're better than that but business is business, via phone, email or whatever. read more

Very disappointed called ahead of time giving my vehicle make, model and year and was quoted for $39.99 I would have an oil change done as well as tire rotation for that price. Upon arrival the next morning for my appointment I was told that it would be $78.00 and this could go up if i needed synthetic oil... I advised him that my vehicle dosent use synthetic oil but he said well see.. I was very disappointed and felt taken advantage of being a young lady. The only reason I put up with it was because I had to start work in 30 minutes and leave that evening for a road trip to Kelowna not wanting to leave the oil change to wait over a drive that long, Would not ever suggest going to Midas ! read more

Welcoming, honest, and quick. After being extremely disappointed in a different Midas location, these guys took me in ASAP. I called them saying I was told off by another shop and they took me in immediately. But rather than them taking my money to do an alignment, they first inspected my vehicle and found a cracked steering rack which had to be replaced. I would've never spotted it without their knowledge and experience. They were honest in saying I would have to align the vehicle again after replacing the rack. I replaced the rack myself and returned a few days later for them to quickly do the alignment. I had a very pleasant experience with this location; welcoming, honest, and quick. The mechanic even shared some of his tips with me. Will return here every time with my cars when needed. Deserves better reviews than they currently have. Bad reviews are from months ago; they've since got a new manager and it seems that things have changed for the better. read more

I brought my wife's car to this shop two months ago and was looking forward to a trouble free oil change. They had a $40 special. We received a phone call shortly after dropping her car off. The manager there recommend that we also do a transmission fluid flush to which we politely deferred. A week later we went to a different mechanic to find a cheaper transmission fluid change. To my shock and disappointment I was informed by the mechanic that the oil was overfilled by Midas and could have caused major damage to the engine. I was also informed by this mechanic that midas' advice to do a flush was completely ill-advised according to Honda specifications. I was told that a simple drain and refill procedure would've been more than adequate wheras a flushing procedure would've been overkill and potentially hurt this particular car and model's engine. We were expecting a lot from the midas brand but I guess we were wrong. Or this could be just another case of an auto shop taking advantage of the uninformed. Consumers beware! read more
