All the rules are the same as you remember; if you get hit, you're out. If you catch the ball, the player that threw it is out and you get to bring in another team member. Last man standing is the winner. But boy, this sport got competitive! On my first game I took the tactic of stand-in-the-back-and-no-one-will-notice-you but unfortunately my entire team got knocked out and I was the remaining competitor. The other team threw four balls at me all at once, knocked my feet out from under me, and hello sprained ankle! However dodgeball is a lot more fun than I remember too. Tyler, the President of the League, umpires the match with some very upbeat dance tunes, the other players are fit and spunky (and young!) and a good time is had by all. If you want to start a new team, head to the website to find out how otherwise an individual can join an already existing team. Games are played on Thursday nights and remember to be on time to maths class afterwards.

Insportz Knox is the sporting ground to go to for a variety of sports including volleyball, soccer,…read morenetball and cricket. The courts are multi-purpose so games on them alternate throughout the day. The last time I went there was to be acting cheerleader for a group of friends playing 5-a-side soccer. It cost them $70 a season to play and they absolutely loved it. Inside can get pretty loud as lots of games are played on different courts/fields at once. Personally I don't understand how each played knows which ref is blowing their whistle for a foul or penalty - every whistle was super loud! I was rather a jittery cheerleader as a result. The courts are available for hire at $60 an hour, minimum. This seems pretty pricey to me but then again I'm not out hiring courts every weekend so I really have no idea. There is also a bar available for hire that is sometimes open. Wait staff are available for hire if catering for birthday parties or functions. Insportz doesn't cater for 21st birthday celebrations or high school after parties though. I don't know what high schooler would want to host a party on a soccer field but each to their own.. All in all the place is pretty good. It's popular, it's loud and there is plenty of great athletes to watch.

Higher still sits the clubhouse, which is converged on by football teams and their families and coaches come weekends. There is a football oval on the right and it is common to see kids down here practicing. Next to the carpark and furthest from the footy oval is a decent sized playground. It too was being utilized by a group of children - perhaps because of school holidays, I'm not too sure. Either way the playground looked good enough to warrant decent popularity. There are a few different ways to enter the park on foot and there are walking tracks provided for convenience. I really liked that there was a row of pine trees lining the edge of the park and separating it from the road. It made the park look a lot nicer and contributed to its more upper class feel - well as upper class as a park can feel when there are kids everywhere. It is a nice place for a walk, and great if your personal trainer has told you to find some hills to run up - yep, that was the reason I was there. Warning - there are some real calf-killing hills so I wouldn't let your personal trainer find out about it or you'll be there faster than you can blink!

Well, okay, I thought the kiosk was a little tacky, but once you get outside, well, it certainly ramps up its impressiveness. You can either play mini-golf, or go on the driving range, and since I have no interest in seeing how far I can hit a ball, we went to the mini-golf. I must admit, that it is hard, but it is also pretty fun as well. In fact, there are two options you can take as well, the one in the shade, and the not so shady one, which means that if you finish one, well, you can then go and do the other one. This public asphalt tennis court is totally awesome. It doesn't cost anything to use - the gates in…read morethe photos are always open, and it is ready to be played on regardless of whether it has been raining or not. (Unlike grass or dirt courts.) The court itself has had some bumpy surfaces over the years but the council always gets onto them pretty quickly and gets them fixed. The surface does have a few cracks at the moment but they are level so it's ok. When the ball bounces on them it can cause it to bounce weirdly but it just makes you play better! The court is never really busy and in the six or seven years that I used it relatively frequently I only turned up once to find that someone else was using it. It is located right behind Knoxfield Shops, which is great because you can have a great game of tennis then go grab a drink from IGA and relax on the public park bench outside. I don't know of any other free courts in the area so I rate this one pretty highly!

What an amazing park in Melbourne, I came here twice during our week long trip…read more Everything is so well-maintained and the architecture of the building and the fountain is magnificent. I took so many photos in front of the fountain (and I wasn't the only one). On the first day we came to this park we bought a coffee at nearby Good Measure (be sure to try their Mont Blanc) and walked around the gardens. The next time, we came with a blanket and just soaked up the sun and relaxed. It's an easy tram ride over here from the CBD, I would highly recommend anyone visiting Melbourne to put this on your list!

I photographed a very strange possum in a. tree. We saw flowers, Berries in trees and fountains. The gardens are an example of Victorian landscape design with sweeping lawns and varied European & Australian tree plantings consisting of deciduous English oaks, White Poplar, plane trees, elms, conifers, cedars, turkey oaks, Araucarias & evergreen trees. Moreton Bay figs, combined with flower beds of annuals & shrubs were meticulously maintained. A network of tree-lined paths provides formal avenues for highlighting the fountains

Public golf course in Brighton - 11km from City centre. Usually in good condition. Front nine is…read moretougher - back nine has a number of short par fours. Most holes have at least two bunkers. Greens are mostly fairly small with little borrow and the fairways are narrow and tree-lined. Hitting off can be daunting for beginners as the waiting area is right behind the tee and there is often a crowd waiting and watching. Beware of balls from other fairways as the fairways are narrow. Four holes on the front nine go up and down hills but the back nine is just undulating. The back nine has nicer shots into the green as some of the hole were redesigned a few years back. The last hole is a useful par-5 that sweeps around a corner. Usually very busy and is popular with beginners so can be slow.
