Our storage unit was broken into at some point in the last week to ten days. I will update this review as time goes on, but today I'm fairly upset. My husband was on-site to return our Christmas decorations; it's a Saturday at 12pm. Someone should be in the office at Midgard but apparently not. The virtual assistant is a joke. Husband demanded a live person. At first it seemed as if he was SOL because it's a weekend. He insisted on speaking with an actual human. Took forever. Once a live person was available they advised for my husband to come back Monday or try calling the office then as no one is available today. Husband told individual to get someone on the phone before he called the police. He was going to call them anyhow but wanted to give Midgard a chance to show up and actually be of service. A customer has just experienced a theft of their property at your facility and you think it's ok to tell them to call back/come back later? How is this remotely acceptable? Once my husband made it clear that he was going to raise hell if he didn't talk to someone TODAY, the representative he spoke with advised him to go into the office and obtain one of the key-locks and place it on our unit (they took owner-supplied locks off about a year ago and replaced them ALL with digital locks they control! They let us know this in one brief email along with yet another notice they were jacking up prices, again!). So he did. Takes pics of everything. Rep tells husband to call the police and gives him the contact info for their insurance company. Husband said the Midgard-provided lock appeared undamaged and functioned properly when he got there. It wasn't until he tried to open the roller door that he realized there was an issue. Things had been ransacked to the point where the state it was left in, caused the roller door to jam. He had to lay on the ground in order to get leverage under the door and push stuff back, to open it. Spring and summer tires are gone, storage totes emptied, boxes emptied ... so much is missing. A priceless wedding gift is gone. Our youngest is a World Cup athlete and some of their irreplaceable sports gear is gone. How the hell did this happen? I saw another review where the customer mentions wire fencing/mesh ceilings. So I asked my husband to photograph and video the ceilings. He said it doesn't appear to be cut or vandalized. How else does someone break into a unit like this? I'll let this play out. They say they have security camera everywhere, yet another reviewer who just went through this states when management was questioned about footage, it's magically unavailable. The police are on their way. Our own insurance requires us to file a report with local LO. I have a detailed and itemized listing of everything in our storage unit and will be taking the inventory with me tomorrow to go through and see what else was stolen. In the interim we'll be reaching out to local media to inquire if anyone else has reported theft at Midgard, as well as asking the police. Midgard ... do the right thing. read more

THIS IS A TERRIBLE STORAGE FACILITY ! They advertise as being a safe and secure place to store your items, with a video recording system. MY STORAGE WAS STOLEN! The ceilings of the units are a wire fencing. This was easily removed and all boxes were taken, these terrible humans left the heavy stuff (couch) which they couldn't remove. There insurance is a joke, wound not pay out anything and video was magically unavailable. read more

STAY AWAY! I would give this business a zero if I could. Back when this was a CubeSmart it was a great facility with great staff, although there were some gradual price hikes. Then Midgard took over. Poor customer service and astoundingly big (and frequent) price hikes. The people running this company are sharks, and I do not say that lightly. I do not mean to impugn the hard working skeleton onsite staff being asked to do way too much with insufficient personnel and resources. DO NOT RENT HERE. read more

If I could give this place a zero star I would. STAY AWAY GO ANYWHERE ELSE! Just wanted to inform you that this is worst customer service I have ever received from a company. I was at one point told "..you're not the type of renter I want here by your agent..." and ".. you have 48 hours to move your stuff out!" At your Osage St location. Is this truly the type of company Midgard Self Storage and Reliant Real Estate Management is? Is this how you train your staff to respond to your renters? I understand there is a 30 move out policy and I gave my notice today and was told that I would still be responsible for all of September even if August is the last month I will be using it? Not even a prorated amount for the 11 day difference... Cold, heartless actions and responses that were unclear and vague. I was told that I wasn't their type of renter and told to have my things out in 48 hours for questioning this policy... Only shows that your renters experience means nothing to your company @Reliant Real Estate Management, LLC. Not a trustworthy company GO ANYWHERE ELSE! Their response l... Hello, I ran back the camera footage in the office and listened on in the interaction. While I do not agree with her exact words spoken, she did tell you correctly for everything in terms of vacating. She does need correction in terms of the delivering the message more kindly and will be sure to have that corrected However, rent posts on the 1st of each month and that payments goes through the last day of the month. Per our lease agreement, we do no pro rate going out when vacating. With rent being due on the 1st we require a 30 days vacate notice that we accept up until the 2nd for the same month submitted. Anything after that date is pushed into next month and rent is charged fully if that notice goes past the 1st. read more

The worst storage experience we've ever had. Are used to be called CubeSmart then changed over to Midgard. Been renting here for three years due to my daughter, being in college and needing a storage facility. We arrived on Sunday to be greeted by homeless people living in the perimeter of the property. On Monday we arrived to vacate the locker. I went to the office and waited 10 minutes to ultimately call a phone number that takes you to a centralized call center where no one can help you. In frustration, I banged on the window only to be greeted by a very rude young blonde girl who offered us no help. Who also stated that there are no carts for moving your belongings to and from your locker. This is a four story storage facility with hundreds and hundreds of locker units and not one cart to move your belongings If you're looking for a storage facility, I highly recommend you go somewhere else. read more

Poor customer service. Poor office training. Was asked to wait while the office worker has to take 2 phone calls. Then the young person working says you can go and bring your lock here. Refused to take me to my unit and then when I came back to my unit the office was closed 1 hour later at 12:25pm. I found the unit myself. The hallways have no location maps. The unit has a lock on it. I was texted the code and removed the lock. I tried to return the lock but again the office was closed and the lockbox will not accept the size of the green temporary lock. So now I have this green temp lock. I've already paid. Not been shown the location of my unit. Not given a gate code. Had to call the customer support. This business is a disgrace the people of the United States. This business pulls in hundred of thousands of dollars in profit and they refuse to hire and train any employees. This is a disgraceful profit driven gross managed business stealing money from the local community and not paying people in the local community to work. 1 star. Paid for unit. Not shown map. Not given gate code. Not able to return temp lock. The kid in the office told me to wait because he had 2 phone calls and 1 of those was his boss so it was more important than doing the job diligence. read more

They fudge their google reviews. Notice their high rating despite every review being negative. If you have ever been to this location then you know the front office jerk that probably checked you in. He is skinny white dude with long brown hair pulled back into a ponytail. He is an arrogant, condescending liar and sadly is the perfect representative for this company, at least this location. He lies about their policies, especially once you are late paying. Your contract says payment is due o. The 1st of the month and is late on the 2nd of the month. On the 2nd Midgard cancels your gate code. As a renter of a storage unit you still have rights and should not be locked out after 24 hours. They get away with this though with a promise that you will still have access to your unit during office hours by asking the office for a temporary code to use during open hours. The aforementioned jerk tells me he reactivated my access knowing full well he did not just to waste my time so I have to return to the office. He then gives me a temporary code that worked only one time. My husband was locked out after taking essentials to our car and couldn't get back up. He let the jerk know who pretends like he doesn't know who my husban is then tells him he is not on the account so is not authorized to ask for a code. My husband was authorized on the account. The Midgard employee was difficult just to be a d*ck. We never got access to our unit again which is a breach of contract on their part. I gave notice I would be leaving on the 2nd of the December. That f****er says you can only give notice on the 1st and they want to be sure I have plenty of time to move out so they require a full months notice so he scheduled my out date for the 31st of January which requires me to pay an extra 2 months and they won't prorate when leaving, This was another policy lie according to the co tract. This place also falsely advertised they have 24 hour access-they do not. I was told only business can have 24 hour access which is standard and I complied with sending the requested information but never heard back. They falsely advertise they have carts available-they do not have carts. You have to carry everything to your unit, which unless you paid the additional $20-30, was all the way in the back. This caused us to be there at closing to which we noticed flashing lights then total blackout with creepy dim lighting to find your way back to the elevator after stumbling to get the last of your stuff into your unit blindly. This makes it obvious that they do not do 24 hour access. There are many units with overnight tenants at this location. They wander the storage units cutting the tamper tags of units belonging to people late paying their bill then I assume the overnight guests rob the units for anything of value. I am pretty sure the a**hole from the office is aware of this and probably profits from the customers stolen goods. Don't think insurance will help you. Insurance only helps when there is an obvious breaking and entering. The way they break in makes it undetectable(almost) so insurance will deny your claim. Do not get a unit here or at least take note of this review as you will see all that I have said unfold before you once you are a customer of this establishment. If you do get a unit, please let the front office dude(you will know exactly who I am referring to once you are a customer as well)-please remind him to watch his back.
