December 2, 2013…read more Coming home for the holidays... We just experienced the most delightful event at the Bradley House over this past Thanksgiving weekend. The play "Grimstone's Glory" was performed by a group of talented youngsters under the direction of Amy Behrens and Jeff Simmons, Music Director. The young cast displayed exceptional talent in this Victorian era production. Using the Bradley House for the play made for a very unique "stage". We certainly enjoyed and appreciated the efforts put forth by everyone involved. Sending a big "Thank You" to ALL, for your dedication and hard work in producing this wonderful holiday entertainment! Very small groups and everyone was friendly and helpful. I really learned a lot. I would highly recommend this place for anyone that would like to get into Pottery. I know they also have a lot of painting classes and jewelry making. I just have never done any of those, but I've heard positive things about them.

This was a very small gallery. I attended the Close to the Bone show. The downstairs hosts a little…read moreshop full of artists' wares. It's kind of quaint and reminiscent of an antique store. However, the upstairs is quite like a modern gallery. It's a nice space to show your work. That being said, the location is kind of odd. Not many people come to Rochester for the arts. There's also a very friendly kitty cat that hangs around. Say hi to him!

This is a free and small art museum on the MSU campus. It's fine and a decent way to waste 45…read moreminutes. The design of the building, by Zaha Hadid, definitely provides for a good photo op and sticks out among the brick buildings nearby. The first floor exhibit, featuring Syrian-American artist, Diana Al-Hadid, was gorgeous and engaging. The basement was called the "CORE" and was a Hodge podge of random art. I wasn't fond of how this was set up at all. I love art but other than the featured exhibit, we weren't engaged. The upstairs Mekong art exhibit was pretty cool but small and scattered. I am used to museums having places for students to research and study in. There's not a lot here. Also, there's not really a cafe and the shop is small. Cute stuff in the store though. Overall, the museum was worth checking out in the area but there's no need to make a special trip.

While the museum is small, they pack several meaningful and amazing exhibits in the halls each time we visit. I am a fan of contemporary vision. This place typically has a lot of work to reflect on and I love the multimedia displays. The kids have grown up coming here to reflect on their own interpretations of the displays and what it means to them. The staff and volunteers are friendly. They also have a cute area for gifts. I love he building architecture. And, if you are a fan of Batman, they did film some scenes in front of the museum, and being a fan of pop culture, that is pretty cool too!

We had 7:30 tickets to see Evan Hansen - we decided to go early to the Pendulum Lounge for dinner…read moreand drinks (since parking is so terrible we liked being able to do our entire evening in one place). We went to the MCFTA web site to look up the hours and menu and the site had the hours: 4:30 to 8 We showed up a little after 5 and asked at the ticket office where the lounge was- the 6 people standing looking at us were like deer in headlights, one person finally told us it wasn't open.... We told them we went on the website and it showed the lounge's hours and it didn't say anything about being closed.... they said nothing. And guess what? I got home from the show and went to the web site and NOW it says it's closed til May...... We haven't been happy with the Center for awhile now. It doesn't feel like it's being run very well.

They haven't opened it since. We asked an employee, and they say that they will have it finished by 2025. 2025?! They haven't even started taking apart exhibits, or building anything. They've just kept it sitting there untouched for the past few years. Just tear the whole thing down if you're not even going to bother remodeling it. Never coming back
