I met some old friends downtown, we hit Broadway, and honestly it was kinda boring, we were going through the motions. Everything has changed now. As we were leaving Legends we ran into some girls on the street passing out entry cards for Deja Vu. We laughed about it for a second, but decided why not, let's go. We don't get out much anymore, we've all got wives and families now, we only see each other a few times a year now, so we might as well make the most of it while we're out, right? Let me preface this by saying I've been in night clubs like this before, maybe even this one years ago, (but I think it was in another location) and normally you know what you get with these places. Dark, seedy, weird, bad music, usually musty women with sores and bruises. That's been my experience in Nashville clubs over the years. So My expectations going in were low. We get to the club, mingle about for a while. Meet a few girls. Some lookers. Some hooches. They don't sell beer here. It's BYOB. Ok. Wish I'd remembered that. Luckily the bartender at Legends had a heavy hand, so I'm feeling ok. The strippers working the floor kept asking me to go upstairs. I did wonder what goes on up there, and they're persistent about it, but I declined. We just got there. I always walk the buffet first before I grab a plate. The DJ made an announcement about a featured presentation about to begin. So we are right in time for the show. The spot is pretty full, not many seats open, except right up front, oddly enough. It's ok. We have some cash to burn, we can afford to throw a few bucks at single moms, so we took the spot up front. The lights go out, the show starts, and a pair of the most beautiful women I've ever seen in my life take the stage. These women were definitely upgrades from last time I was here. One is a white girl covered in Tattoos, very fit, body that turns heads. The other was a simply astonishing Latina, the kind that you only see in movies or in your dreams. Ok. You have my attention ladies. They begin dancing, it's a doubles routine, it's hot, they're shaking it, everything is going well, the clothes start coming off, and then it happened... THEY LAID THE NAKED HOT LATINA DOWN ON A TABLE ON THE STAGE THE TATTOO GIRL PULLED OUT A BAG OF WHIPPED CREAM AND CHOCOLATE SYRUP!!! TATTOO GIRL WENT TO TOWN ON THE LATINA AND MADE HER INTO DESSERT!!!! THERE WAS STRAWBERRIES AND CHERRIES AND AT ONE POINT A LIT CANDLE IN THIS GIRLS ASS!!!!! SHE SMACKED THE WHIPPED CREAM OFF HER ASS INTO THE FRONT ROW AND IT HIT ME IN THE FACE. I LIKED IT. THEY WERE THROWING ASS FRUIT INTO THE CROWD AND PEOPLE WERE EATING IT UP WHILE THE DJ WAS BUMPING EMINEM. THIS WAS TOTAL CHAOS AND MADNESS!!! THE WHOLE CLUB WAS SHAKING!! In that moment, it was some of the best times of my life. It felt like we had walked into a scene from a movie. It was so crazy. Like how life was when we were younger. Before everything went sideways. If we hadn't gone here, our night would have been a bust, and honestly, I don't know if I would have even bothered trying to do things again. I HAD FUN!!! For the first time in a long time, I had fun. We've talked about this for days. I don't get out much anymore, and I needed this. Last Friday night was proof that fun crazy women like this really do still exist in the real world. If this is what strip clubs are like in Nashville now, sign me up! P.S. I can't pay my house payment until my next check now because I let them take me upstairs to VIP. I think I spent my car payment too. It's ok though. It was worth it! God forbid I even lifted it; they were acting like I was taking pictures of the walls or something. Vaping wasn't allowed, which is fine, so I put my THC pen back in the car after I had already thrown money because I genuinely felt bad -- no one else was even tipping. Meanwhile, security comes up to me accusing me of having a cloud of smoke around me when I literally didn't even have it on me anymore. At that point it just felt personal. I tried to speak to a manager because the whole situation was ridiculous, but of course he wouldn't even come outside to talk to me. I was stuck dealing with another security guard while the actual manager hid. On top of that, I had to bring my own drinks AND still pay an entry fee. For what? To be watched every second? Security was either glued to me or sitting around sharing a bag of chips instead of doing anything productive. And the music... absolutely terrible. Who is dancing to Kanye West in that setting? The vibe was completely off. Honestly, save your money and drink at home. Not worth it at all.

In May some friends of ours called them to make a reservation for three people for the same weekend and asked to be close to us if possible and they were told that we didn't have a reservation. I called back and reserved the RV again for four people and this time put down a deposit. In July another couple who are our friends made an online reservation for an RV for two people. We all drove over six hours to the campground and when we arrived we were told by the Manager that they were double booked and she didn't know what she was going to do. She then proceeded to tell us that she had lost all of our numbers and couldn't call us to tell us what had happened, the whole time she was smiling and laughing. We told her that we had just drove over six hours and that she needed to figure something out. We were charged $100. a night for two extra people in our RV and we were not told that when we made the reservation. When I asked about the charge I was told it was for extra housekeeping fees. We had to go get our own sheets and towels. It was the same for our friends. She put nine of us into two RVs. We had our original four in ours which worked out ok. The other five she crammed into one RV that was not set up for that many people. When they pulled out the couch to make up the bed and it was full of mouse turds. I know that that can happen in the woods but when you are paying $150 a night you should expect it to be clean. Two of our friends ended up trying to sleep in the playroom because there was just no way that they could sleep in the RV. They had gotten in delivery of towels advertising the campground and the manger brought one out and was showing it off to everyone. One of our friends went to the office to find out how much they were and to buy a couple of them. He was told that they were $25 each ( too much in my opinion) and when he told the manager that he wanted to buy two she just gave him a look and walked away. She is supposedly a new and better manager than they had before, that is a matter of opinion. The theme for Saturday night was Luau and they had a special dinner that you could have for $40 a couple. We did not sign up for that because of dietary restrictions. The campground has a very nice pavilion with tables and a dance floor , they had the Luau dinner outside by the pool instead of in the pavilion. They started setting up three hours before the dinner and all of us that were enjoying the pool and sunshine was told that we had to give up our poolside seats so that they could move them and set up tables for the Luau. We were able to sit in the hottub and we watched them set up for the party. They had a woman who was topless carrying trays of silverware up against her chest and a cigarette in her mouth. They also offer free soft drinks which is a nice touch but the soda machine was crawling with ants even around the soda dispensers. The whole situation made us glad that we didn't pay for the dinner. When it came time for the dinner to start we went to the pavilion and set in some good seats for the dance that was taking place later. It started to rain and the people that were having dinner started coming in and we gave up our seats to them. When we complained about the way they handled the RV situation they offered us discounts for the next time we come. We told them that if they didn't make this right that we wouldn't be back so the discounts didn't mean anything, besides the fact that they lost our reservation in a months time so its hard to believe that they would remember to give us the discounts next year. Needless to say that we are very unhappy and won't be back.

An established and celebrated New York City based group, Wasabassco has been performing at City Winery New York for years, and just brought their brand of awesome to Nashville for what will be a monthly event occurring on the second Friday of each month. Not only will they showcase unbelievable talent from NYC but also our own amazing local burlesque lovelies in a show that combines humor and beauty set agains the beautiful scenery that is our City Winery. The lounge is located upstairs. If you've been to City Winery Nashville before you've most likely been in the large stage room or the dining area downstairs. The lounge is smaller, more intimate, but still has the same great service you get anywhere else in the Winery. You still get the same full food and drink menu (though on Friday, the kitchen is open until 11pm and the doors for the show open at 9pm, with the show starting at 10pm, so be aware of timing if you're down for a late dinner!). Though it was a much smaller and tighter area the servers and bartenders as as incredible in the lounge as they are anywhere else in the building. Pretty much every table and seat is a good one to view the small corner stage. And the performances are so much fun! I met a couple who has never been to a burlesque show before (they had had dinner downstairs and wondered what was going on upstairs, wandered up, bought tickets, and sat down with wine to enjoy something they had never seen before). They asked me to describe it. Having never seen Wasabassco, I went with my usual description of burlesque: sexy, funny, entertaining, doesn't take itself too seriously, but is seriously a riot to watch. And apparently my description was pretty good, as told to me by my newcomer friends :) This was a truly amazing event in a great space and so much fun to be a part of. A great crowd with so much energy. Really talented performers who really engaged the crowd. I'd like to remind everyone that burlesque is not the same as a strip club, this is dance, performance art, humorous and beautiful. Its a great show all around in an amazing venue. I am looking forward to their return next month. The show did sell out so I recommend advanced tickets, though they do have some first come only ones available at the door. It's all the great service you've come to expect from City Winery Nashville with a little New York attitude added in. I'd highly recommend this variety show if you're looking for a great night out that maybe isn't your norm.

We tried to get it out with water to no avail, our outfits, and more importantly our evening is completely soured in one, totally inconsiderate act of sheer stupidity. It boggles the mind what this guy was thinking, if thinking at all. I had purchased this dress for our evening and it was my first time wearing it, it's not the dress or money, it's that my experience, and a few other gals experience is ruined and it clearly affected our bachelorettes evening which sucks. Management apologized and offered to refund some of our money. And admitted that it was the experience that had been ruined and that we can't get that back. Exactly right. Anyone who even thinks this type of thing is ok to do to a bunch of unsuspecting patrons has zero business being in a position where he or she can inflict this kind of civil assault. If I were management, I would have made this individual apologize directly to the ladies affected and frankly, I probably would fire this loose cannon before he creates a liable situation for them. I'm sure there are many fine gentleman performing here, this individual is not one of them and his actions soured the whole experience for our group.
