I originally came to this location because I was looking for some stockings as my work stockings had a run in them and my back up pair did as well. Although Hustler does provide stockings, it does not provide the ones that I can wear at work LOL. The plus size selection sucks. They have a quarter of a rack for box outfits and half of that is mid thigh stockings. And a small place on the wall for some things to hang up like maybe nine hooks worth of clothes. And all of those were mostly baby dolls gowns. Not cute at all. Church Street certainly wins the contest for Nashville's most ironically named street. The area is home to Nashville's only true gay district, one of the largest liquor stores in town and, the most sparkling jewel in the crown that is Church Street, the Hustler store. I hadn't been into Hustler Hollywood until quite recently. I appreciate the fact that, as other reviewers have mentioned, Hustler sells sex in a far less shady and scummy manner than most adult "bookstores." And believe me, I am not a prudish fellow. However, it's just a bit bizarre to see hardcore pornography presented with such a glossy, "get over it...it's just sex" type of attitude. The store is pretty large, and there is an 18+ section at the back with all sorts of toys, DVDs, magazines, clamps, gadgets and outfits. In the front of the store, Hustler stocks ultra tourist-y t-shirts and hats as well as about 300 copies of "The People vs. Larry Flint." The adult section carries cute items like bachelorette party packs and little nurse's outfits, but they also stock some of the raunchiest magazines and films I've ever come across (satisfying people at both ends of the spectrum, I suppose). Hustler seems to try a bit hard to make hardcore porn an acceptable part of modern culture. For God's sake, they sell coffee, and I saw a couple in there with their kid (probably about seven years old)! If you ask me, however, it's almost creepier this way. I've been here multiple times and every other experience except for this last one was fantastic! The person that helped me this past time persuaded me into buying it an item that was more expensive versus the one that I wanted because they told me that it has more functions and I straight up got lied to. All I did was turn on the item and not use it they won't give me a refund they won't give me a store credit so I just wasted $70. I very tentatively give this 5 stars, but I think it is as good as it gets in Nashville. I've been there at the end of a few nights out drinking with female friends who seem to think the perfect end of the evening is to go and look at random adult items. Have also been there with the prude friends who think you have to purchase something here for the perfect bachelorette party. Either way I have ended up here about 5 times. The first couple visits were mainly attempts by me to locate an area I could stand and look as much like "I'm just waiting on these girls" as is possible, but the last couple of times I just relaxed and enjoyed either people's openness or the helpful staff suggestions for what reaches back in there and really hits the g spot... Just the overheard conversations are worth going in there for Person 1: "do you think I should get these flavored condoms?" I think I'd worry if my junk smelled like fruit" It's clean, well lit, it's a very safe and inviting adult shopping experience. The parking lot is a tad sketchy, but it's pretty safe looking as well when you're not forced to park far away. I like Hustler. It's bright (a little too bright, actually), clean, and not at all sketchy. I've found myself in there for personal purchases and bachelorette parties several times over the years. A year ago, the sales team was friendly, fun, and engaging. Pros: - Conveniently located (Midtown) - Lots of parking - Late hours - Lots of toys and Dvds (all of which you can find online for cheaper) - Seems to fit a young crowd, less classy but young, party crowd kind of thing - They usually offer specials (like yelp gives a discount and sometimes they have stuff on groupon and they give a discount card after your purchase for next purchase). Cons: - Not many outfits (doesn't even compare to Pleasures Boutique) - Fitting room is run down - Store feels grimy and for a young, party crowd (not going for classy boutique feel) - Staff are usually not incredibly friendly, they stare and sometimes whisper to each other (possibly about you... who knows, but it can be awkward) - The toys and dvd's that they do have are available online for a lot cheaper. I guess, what they particularly offer is convenience of just being there. I stopped in here while visiting Nashville. I've been in Hustler stores before and they're all kind of the same, good general selection of most things anyone would want. The had a huge DVD selection, lingerie (but not what I would call high quality and it doesn't come in a huge range of sizes), and a ton of toys. They had several brands I like (lelo, fun factory) and while I didn't pick anything up, I'd definitely come back if I were looking for something specific. Or something not specific! My only complaint is that the help, while attentive, shifted away from the "this is how you can use this" to "this is how I use this," which I don't care for. I get it, I'm in a sex shop, but I don't need that visual. But that's just my personal preference. Also, the area of town this shop is in seems to be sketchy mixed with new development. My friends and I have described Hustler as "the Gap of porn". The first time I visited, I was greeted by a perky salesgirl asking "what can I help you find today" as if I was shopping for jeans and a sweater. I was sooo happy that I finally met "normal" people in TN when I entered the store.
