My appointment at Midtown Optometry was a wonderful experience! Excellent customer service, knowledgeable staff, easy to do business with, and a wonderful selection! I've been putting off this visit for a few years, as I've been afraid to admit/acknowledge that my eyes aren't perfect anymore and do something about it. After mustering up the courage, I made an appointment to see Dr Fellers. Scheduling was a breeze and they even squeezed me into a next day opening. After arriving and filling out my information, I was called back to the exam room promptly at my scheduled appointment time. Rarely do I experience doctors running on-time these days! Dr Fellers was extremely personable and knowledgeable, and took the time to explain how the eyes and each of the eye machines worked throughout the examination. He didn't even complain about my relentless questions! The best part was at the end of the exam when he took a close up image of my retina and explained in detail each of the key features shown in the image. The next step was something I was very intimidated about: choosing eye glass frames. I was nervous going in, as most eye doctors have an overwhelming wall of 100+ eye glass frames while giving you instructions to "pick what you like". Since I'm new to glasses I have no idea what I like! Thankfully, they knew what styles would look good on my narrow face, and only pulled out 5 different frames for me to try on. 3 of them looked great and were completely different styles, so I only had to choose if I wanted hipster, clean-cut/professional, or minimalist style. Before I knew it my finished eye glass frames were in my possession, and now I'm convinced I look better with the glasses in addition to seeing much better! I had such a pleasant experience at Midtown. The staff there are incredible! Elisa helped me reschedule my eye appointment when I was potentially exposed to Covid by a family member. I felt bad for canceling, but they sent me a thank you card with a coupon to Penny's ice cream expressing their gratitude for keeping them safe. When I finally had my appointment I was currently evacuated due to the fires, and everyone there treated me so nicely and asked how I was holding up. It just feels like everyone in the office cares about their patients, and that means so much especially during these times. Rose helped me pick out some beautiful frames and did not rush me at all when I was texting my husband for his opinion. And Dr. Fellers was so kind and patient when he was discussing all the imaging. I appreciate it when doctors explain everything thoroughly, and he did a wonderful job! They have a great selection of frames and superb customer service! I have had eye issues for a few years and I put off seeing a specialist after having a bad experience with my last eye doctor. I finally made the appointment after hearing about Dr. Craig Fellers from someone at work. I was very happy I made that initial appointment. As a doctor myself, I really appreciated the quality of care I received in his office. The experience this office creates has been the best experience at the eye doctor I have ever been to. Everything about this clinic is top-notch. The office had a nice modern look and was very clean and well kept. I would have liked to enjoy the waiting room, but I was brought back right away to get started at my scheduled appointment time. This is not always the case in a medical office and it was a pleasant surprise. The staff was very friendly and professional. I really enjoyed chatting with them while I was searching for glasses. Not knowing anything about fashion and glasses and being a bit overwhelmed with the selection, I relied on their expertise to help narrow down my choices. They made it very easy and simple, which is what I prefer. Dr. Craig Fellers was a very nice doctor. He was intelligent, personable, and did not seem rushed at all. I could tell he was very interested in my history and the health of my eyes. He asked a lot of questions to determine the extent of my eye issues, more so than any previous eye doctor I have encountered. After a series of tests, I was given a new prescription for contacts and was told that my "eye issue" was not really an issue at all and could be taken care of. It was a breath of fresh air considering my last eye doctor scared me into thinking I did. I really did not know there were differences with contacts and Dr. Fellers allowed me to try on multiple contacts to see which ones I liked best. I have never had contacts that felt as nice as the ones I received from his office. Overall, I had a great experience. I wanted to purchase my contacts here to support the business, but couldn't afford it bc by buying my year supplies of contacts at costco i'm able to save a few hundred dollars instead. A preface to this review: My previous experiences at an optometrist office were not terrible or painful, actually quite pleasant; this establishment is just that much better. The location is easy to find with abundant parking. While scheduling my appointment, I was able to easily find a time that worked with my busy week and was not months away. I showed up a few minutes early to my appointment and found out that Dr. Fellers could start my exam early as well! Shortly after arriving, I was able to help myself to a delicious cup of coffee - that would have only been better if I had to wait for 5 minutes to enjoy it; oh well - bittersweet. Dr. Fellers greeted me with a smile and treated me as if we had known each other for years. I did not get the impression that I was just another patient - he actually took the time to get to know me a little bit before plunging into the eye exam. Dr. Fellers made each exercise entertaining with his enthusiasm and knowledge. I asked several questions and he had quick relevant responses. The exam utilized what appeared to be state of the art technology. (My previous experience involved slightly older equipment). After a flash, the exam was done. Literally, he ended the exam by taking actual hi-resolution digital photographic images of my eyes and pulled them up for me to see. I thought this was the highlight of the experience and was extremely interesting to look at and discuss. Fortunately I did not have any rare eye diseases, so my experience was then headed to the glasses fitting station. I found a seat next to the open-air atrium that illuminates his office and got fit for an amazing pair of glasses. The abundance of options was nicely paired with helpful professional advice regarding style and fit choices. Top to bottom this experience was amazing. Immediately after leaving I thought that this establishment was worth sharing and wanted to write a review of my experience.
