This time they said they would give him a contact band aid to help it heal. They scheduled his appointment very first thing in the morning (before his eyes had time to adjust to the light) and were surprised when he couldn't keep his eye open and referred him to Riley in Indianapolis because they said they didn't want to make him uncomfortable. Do they not understand how uncomfortable it is to scratch your eye constantly? They didn't ask what we wanted to do. They didn't ask us anything they just said they would refer us to Riley so they could put him under to get the contact in. It has now been a week since they saw him and no referral has been sent to Riley. I have called multiple times to try to get them to send the referral someplace more local so they can do it without putting him under. Every time I call they either put me through to voicemail or say they will call back and don't.

Even though my medical insurance pays 100% of all office visits (even had my insurance company call the office to explain), I was demanded by their office to pay $30.00 (which I refused to do for practical reasons) and then wait weeks for reimbursement, which I felt was not necessary and a waste of time as my insurance pays 100% and the office was informed of same. The office representative "saluted" to me when I told them I was no longer going to come to their office ever again. In other words, they cared more about "their money" than the compassionate, kind, willingness to work with a patient. These are medical expectations that we as patients should always receive. My husband had a detached retina, and his eye doctor sent him to Dr. Khan. We were squeezed in on a Friday because time is an issue with a detached retina (I have learned A LOT about this subject since last Friday). We were seen without too much of a wait, and I was so impressed by the professionalism and kindness of Dr. Khan and his entire staff. He performed the surgery that night at Lutheran Hospital - it took about 2 1/2 hours. He then opened the office by himself on Saturday morning to look at my husband's eye. I know we are probably paying out the nose for this (I haven't yet seen a bill), but I am so happy with the way he has treated my husband and how professional he has been.

Dr. Morrow numbed my mother's eye, checked to see what the damage was, explained that it was scratched. Then he explained that he was going to use a bandage contact so that she would still be able to use her eye while the bandage contact would protect from further injury to her eye during blinking. He gave my mother his home phone, cell phone, and pager number just in case she had any other trouble. As if that wasn't going beyond what average doctors do... he even followed up with a personal phone call to check to see how her eye was coming along. My mother (who is on the phone with me) explains that she is almost 60 years old and has never experienced someone who has had as much caring and compassion for his patients. His passion shines brightly.

He found the cause of constant headaches when I started (last doc had missed the center of my coke bottles by less than a pencil width and my eyes were fighting to pull to the proper centers) spends the most time with the severe astigmatism and other issues I and family have had. So much so I take the time to get there when I have vision issues. He has helped several shooters including some with advanced vision issues; Bullseye handgun shoots himself and has run IDPA if he can't do it you will be referred to someone who can BEFORE you dump a boatload of $$$.
