I was offered very limited selections of options to choose from for flooring and carpeting to upgrade my house for a rental. I think they must have assumed that I wanted mediocre quality since it's set to be a rental. For carpet, I was given 2 options for colors to choose from. I was initially offered the 30oz carpet but I feared it would not be plush so I wanted to upgrade, so 40oz was the next up. For flooring, I had 3 options for colors to choose from. I choose what was best based on what was presented to me. They took 2 days to install over a period of a week. I guess it's normal for after installation of the flooring that they don't install the toilets back for you? Anywho, after installation, I noticed the carpet felt CHEAP, I wondered if the upgrade was done? I can't imagine what the 30oz version would feel like. The flooring also cheap looking and felt slippery, maybe because it was new. I hope that wears off otherwise it's going to be an issue. Not happy with the results I complained about it to Mike, the properties manager. He was pleasant and we worked out the solution for it. What I learned from the experience was I can't trust the experts/professionals to do the right thing and pick out what I need over emails. They made it easy for me choose by giving me limited options but I should have asked about the quality. I needed to come to the showroom and feel the products out first to know what to expect for such an expensive project.

We compared doing engineered wood floors, luxury vinyl plank, and some other options, but in the end I'm so glad we chose what we did- it's been I've a year now and the floors still look amazing and we don't have one complaint! We had gotten a few other estimates and his was the best, also other estimates were for kitchen floor only!!! Aaron was honest and upfront with us and said he didn't think that it would match the other two areas unless we redid all 3 areas. One business said it would take him 2 weeks and dust would be atrocious as he didn't have the equipment to eliminate the dust!!! He said he would have to cover furniture with plastic and tape off other areas and remove tvs from the area!!!!!!!! We said no thank you!!!!!!! Aaron has a state of the art dust removal system and what an incredible job!!!!!!!!!! I don't think I would have had to dust anything after he was done...but what I did dust was what was there before he came to do the floors!!!! LOL!!!!!! I found Ajay by doing a search for interior designers in Sioux Falls. There weren't that many, and…read moreall but Ajay had less than a dozen reviews, and 1 to 5 star reviews. Ajay had 85ish at the time, and ALL were 5 stars! Now that our project is done, I can say he is great to work with. He listens carefully to what you say. He doesn't try to push something on you, instead he finds what you are looking for. We went almost entirely with his suggestions because they were so great. We completely gutted and remodeled a bathroom. It looks absolutely phenomenal! Ajay recommended a contractor he works with, Dave Moss of Wizbuilt. Excellent suggestion. Ajay made suggestions or passed on suggestions for all the sub-contractors. All were great to work with. Yes we had some delays, but that was due to a supply chain issue, not Ajay's fault. Ajay did an exceptional job communicating, which is a pet peeve of mine with many service providers. He did all the leg work with the vendors, making sure we had the products we needed when the subs and general needed them, except for two items referenced previously. Even with those, he kept us updated. I thought is pricing was very fair. When we received his final bill I thought he was also more than fair for the time he charged. I'm certain he spent more time working on our project than he billed! After checking if we were open to it, he made some suggestions for the rest of our house. These involved moving furniture around, changing some lighting and repainting. Easy peazy and made a huge difference in how open our house feels. We have a few more rearrangements to do, but need to de-clutter a bit to make it possible. Really pleased with his vision of our "space". We have a couple more remodel items to tackle, but need to wait to build up our funds. Ajay was very sensitive to this, often making suggestions that saved us money. We will call Ajay when we are ready to move forward on these, which is the highest recommendation we can give.
