Repeated a test for no apparent reason, not bathed all week, gave the wrong medication and did not inform us she was ready for discharge. Going back a week to her initial ER visit, I now understand why they didn't have a room for 36 hours to admit her - the disorganization is so bad they just can't move people through the process! It genuinely felt like they were bleeding the insurance company for every nickel they could - lots of wasted time. NEVER LET ANYONE TAKE YOU TO ADVENT! Horrible experience

The doctors are extremely talented and the care is top-notch. They have an ICU and multiple other facilities in this the nurses over here in the parts center are very talented. We worked with somebody called Emily and she was outstanding. The front office is very efficient and they follow HIPAA guidelines and make sure that the security is good. This place does have a great cafeteria for a very nominal prizes everything over here that you find is very cheap. I definitely recommend this place for new parents.

While I was hospitalized at Overland Park Regional Medical Center last year Dr. Adam Kaye did the…read moresurgical procedure to insert a central catheter line (perma-port) to be used as an easy intravenous access site during my upcoming chemo treatments. It's a very quick and simple procedure, but not without some risk because the surgeon needs to be careful that the wires that are part of the apparatus don't actually touch the heart muscle as it's being inserted. In this case everything went fine and there were no problems with the insertion. Approximately a year later the perma-port stopped working properly, and I had completed the chemo treatments, so I had Dr. Kaye remove it at the beginning of April. This was another relatively simple procedure, done at the Overland Park Surgery Center under local anesthesia. It did involve a bit more tugging and pulling than I anticipated, but there was nothing painful about it. My only subsequent concern was that a good-sized lump developed afterwards under the incision that was fairly tender to the touch and looked bruised. Follow-ups with Dr. Kaye (a really nice, cheerful guy, by the way) were reassuring -- sometimes after this kind of procedure where there's a remaining pocket under the skin, where the port had been located, fluid can accumulate during the healing process. There was no infection, the small incision itself has healed nicely, and a month or so later the lump is now considerably smaller as the fluid is being reabsorbed and it's no longer tender. I just saw Dr. Kaye again to check, and he recommended hot compresses on the site to accelerate the shrinking of the remaining lump. That's certainly no big deal to do! I appreciate Dr. Kaye's accessibility and his willingness and ability to explain what was going on, both before the procedure and during the healing process. I've been fortunate to have never had any other surgeries, but that means that I didn't know exactly what to expect at each stage and Dr. Kaye's been good about explaining what I needed to know. Considering this experience, I'd be happy to have Dr. Kaye again as my surgeon if I ever need to have something done, and I can recommend him to others who may need surgery.

Dr. Bleazard at KCBJ did an open reduction and fixation of a shattered malleolus, chipped tibia,…read moreand ligament tear in March of 2021. I was a terrible patient and walked in my cast starting a week after surgery. I never wore my boot and in fact departed for a trip to Costa Rica the day after I got my cast off, where I hiked thousands of steps without any ankle support. I also never did physical therapy and even no-showed for my last recheck appointment (sorry guys). Fast forward to today, when my leg got stuck in a stirrup after a freak accident on a pony (I'm a horse trainer). I was dragged 150 or so feet at a gallop by my formerly-broken ankle before I finally broke free of the stirrup. Unbelievably, my ankle is not injured or even sore in the slightest. My surgical repair has withstood the most rigorous test imaginable, and I walked away unscathed and ready to put myself in danger again tomorrow. Thank you, Dr. Bleazard, for doing such an incredible job on my surgery. Something tells me I'll see you again.

I had an EMG done with Dr Patel because I was having pain in my neck, shoulder, and arm. Since I…read morehave had previous surgery for a cervical spine issue and have had a severely impacted nerve in my upper back for a few years, the EMG was part of my assessment for diagnosing that problem. I have no complaints about my ability to get an appointment or his staff. However, after the EMG was done and read, Dr Patel kept telling me I have carpel tunnel in both wrists. I finally told him that maybe true, but that was not my primary concern right now. (I have never had any pain in either wrist). After subsequently seeing a neurosurgeon, I was referred to an orthopedic surgeon in another group to be evaluated for a rotator cuff tear. When I tried to get the records from Dr Patel's office to be sent to the other orthopedic surgeon, I discovered that I had to go on line with a third party, HealthMark(?) HealthMart(?). The only way to get them from this place is to fill out an on-line request. After spending over an hour on line trying to fill out the form, I gave up. I could not get past the second page-the third page and other pages simply would not load. I finally called Dr Patel's office back and spoke to a person in scheduling who said she could have the records sent. Thank heavens. I'm sure the doctors at KC Bone and Joint are fine, but after my experience, I will not return there for care.

I'm not sure what her actual department is, but she dropped everything to help me. She was amazing! She worked with me for over 20 minutes to accommodate my schedule and was so apologetic for any inconvenience. She was personable and was on a mission to get me in soon. Not many companies give you, as a first- time patient especially, that type of customer care. Kudos to Jennifer! I am impressed and grateful - getting in within a week!!! She deserves a raise!

I checked in for the appointment today, paid my co-pay and waited for a technician to call me. Once I got in the MRI department, I reminded the tech that I have a Spinal Cord Stimulator implanted by Dr. Fotopolis in 2024. I had discussed this with the tech and doctor that saw me in the Urgent Care department. I also recorded it on the intake form that day. The tech told me they don't have the correct MRI machine to do any MRI's on patients with stimulator implants and none of their facilities do and I needed to make an appt. at an independent imaging company. The people I spoke with today at KCOI were very apologetic and I understand mistakes are made. What I am upset about is evidently the doctors at KCOI put in 100's of stimulators each year and are supposedly they are the #1 rated Ortho Hospital in the city, yet they don't choose to buy an imaging machine that is stimulator compatible. Frankly, I was stunned

I initially went to Manhattan to discuss my charity event " Ride for Vets", not really giving much…read morethought to any treatment. I was completely impressed by what followed upon my arrival. I was greeted by a support group of individuals who like me were interested in helping veterans. What I got that I didn't expect was a treatment for my neuropathy. Truly amazing best describes my experience. The best part of which is now, that two months have gone by the numbness and tingling in my feet has vastly improved. I had stem cell treatment from KS Regenerative Medicine in Overland Park, KS. The procedure was…read moredone May 18, 2022 after processing my stem cells they started the injections. Dr Sigler was the Dr. performing the procedures. I had treatment on my cervical and lumbar spine and both hip joints. The procedure is not pain free and took all day long. I followed their recommendation and took it easy for the first 2 weeks as suggested. Then slowly started my normal activites within the restrictions as stated on the discharge papers sent home with me. I was advised, not to return to normal activies for at least 6 weeks. After a year I have had no significant improvement in my low back and I still have pain in the areas that were treated. I did have some improvement in my cervical spine area, it's still stiff but the pain did improve in this area only. I went back yesterday for an appointment with Dr. Sigler and his suggestion is to try treating the areas again with additional stem cells injected to my SI joint, as it wasn't treated last year. They are now treating the SI joint along with the low back treatments, and again treat my low back and hips. My SI joint is one of my cronic problem areas, I wish it would have been treated last year. Of course this would be at an additional cost of $12,000.00. Needless to say I did not get the results I hoped for!
