No one wants a sewage back up, but I must say that these guys made it a pleasant experience.

They do not do satisfactory work the first time and charge you twice to get it done right. I requested a refund for the duplicate charges. Southside Plumbing is ignoring me. On 6/15, I was out of town, my brother-in-law authorized and paid for a sewer clean out in which the technician pulled toilet, cleared clog (Invoice No. 200396616). On 6/18, I was charged again for a "pull toilet, clear clog" service (Invoice No. 200463180, $324.72 plus tax). There is a clean out drain in the back yard 5 feet from the house on the sewer line. If your expert technicians had looked before pulling the toilet, they would have seen it. A recommendation to install a clean out was made on Invoice No. 200396616. The sewer did not re-clog in the day between these visits -- the first attempt simply wasn't completed, and a second visit with a plumber was needed to finish the original job. Since this was a continuation of the same unresolved issue rather than a new problem, I shouldn't have been billed a second time. Similarly, on 6/18 your technician attempted to clear my laundry drain through the standpipe (Invoice No. 200463180, $349.93), but the attempt was unsuccessful. On 6/25, a technician returned, with a supervisor to assist with the job, and performed the same service -- clearing the laundry drain through standpipe #100 drain machine (Invoice No. 200507448, $349.93 plus tax) -- and this time it worked. Again, this was the same job completed correctly on the second try, not two separate issues. Your technicians were knowingly interacting with my brother-in-law and the dog sitter, people who are not familiar with the home, not the homeowner. I was out of town when the original visits took place. It also appears that in both cases, the technician who first attempted the work wasn't able to complete it accurately, and a more experienced technician was sent out afterward to finish the job properly or supervise the completion. I understand that training is part of running any business, but I don't believe I should be responsible for the cost of a second visit when the first one didn't resolve the issue and the same procedure was used successfully the second time by a more competent person. When I returned home, I had them try to clear a bathroom sink. The technician could not clear it. He said he would send an estimate to replace pipes. I mentioned my concern about them having to come out twice to do the original sewer clean out. He said it was his fault and he would talk to someone about the extra visit and charges. They have ghosted me. Here are some of the assertions made on your website. "Get accurate plumbing repairs from honest, dependable local experts." "Whether you need emergency plumbing repairs, routine maintenance, or complicated installations, our experts will get the job done quickly and accurately." This was not my experience.

I called several plumbers, and Advantage was the only business that provided us with an estimate of the work's cost. The others all wanted to come see the job, provide a quote, and then we could decide to accept their proposal or send them walking. I wasn't looking for a firm quote; I just wanted an idea. Hugh from Advantage was polite, neat, and very efficient. The total cost was reasonable and lower than we had experienced with other plumbers for comparable work.

I had a great experience with Advantage Plumbing…read more Through Yelp, I requested help for a toilet and shut valve replacement. (The toilet has been having intermittent issues and needs replacement.) They immediately connected with me and offered to come out the same day (but I still had not gotten the new toilet.) We scheduled for the day after, and they were here by the promised time. The team quickly removed their shoes at the front door without being asked (not my general experience with many repair teams) and started working. They finished almost precisely at 90 minutes despite a minor complication. (The basement/toilet drain was not draining well which they augered out.) It was explained to me that it was likely a combination of time and a 20-year-old toilet (which did not generate enough force). Other than minimal dust and grime, they did not leave any bigger messes for me to clean up. They were professional, and their price was well aligned with other companies. They did not sell me on any additional service plans but did guarantee their service for a year. (There is a 4% for credit card transactions.)
