Bad surgical results. Based on comments made by the dr., I don't feel like much effort went into my surgery. I went in for a certain type of stent and apparently the hospital didn't use that brand anymore, so the dr. put in a whole different design and brand that didn't even work the same way without even consulting me beforehand. It ended up failing and I had to get the right one put in at a different hospital. In my other foot; the dr. put the smallest wedge they make in one of my foot bones that came up way short of correcting the issue. When I asked why such a small wedge? He replied "your bone was hard to split open." I don't feel like any effort was given to my surgery and now I either have to live with the results or have a different dr. fix it right. read more

I'd urge caution I Went in to Midwest Podiatry Center to determine if I had toenail fungus. Thought this was fairly simple. But, the cost right now is adding up to be over $600 dollars. I am working with Insurance company to determine medical necessity for the labs/pathology tests that do not appear to be appropriate for what I went into to see Dr. for. Visit seemed pretty normal. Quick and efficient. The issues developed after I left. Dr. was pretty sure it was just trauma to the toes (stubbing, dogs walking on the toes, kids walking on the toes, etc.). Was going to run test to confirm no fungal infection. Took nail clippings. I had to call to get results, waited for 2 weeks before I called. Not Fungal infection but was given a compound RX to help. They were going to call the RX in but I had to call and follow up on that, too. Then, after receiving the RX, I found that the ingredients in the compound RX were in lotions on Amazon for 1/3 of the cost I paid for compound. Three months after visit I received bills for labs/pathology. My cost, about $440 worth.....WHAT???? (Thank goodness the one that was for $754 was denied by Insurance and waived by MPC) When I looked up what the lab works is typically for...it was outrageous - (Strep A and B, Staph infection, UTI, Leprosy, STD - Really ?????). When talking to billing folks at the clinic was told that the tests needed to be run in case they needed to treat the Fungal infection, which absolutely makes zero sense. I asked why they would run these tests (since expensive), if the Dr. believed it was not a fungal infection... no answer provided (I had insurance company on the phone for this discussion). They did state I had "signed" the form allowing test/pathology to be done. Which I did. However, I did state, no where did the form or anyone state these tests/pathology lab could run up to and possibly beyond $1000 (if you include the one that was denied). I am soooo very sorry I ever went to the clinic for anything. It has been nothing but a nightmare experience. I am still working on get lab costs reversed. read more

if I could give no stars I would. I had a doctor Khan, Sameer. he could not figure out how to numb my toe before the procedure. I kept telling him that I could feel what he was doing but he kept trying. after numerous attempts he brought in a doctor to talk to me, as if that would do any thing. every time I would ask a question he would leave the office to get the answer. after 2 hours I was in more pain than when I walked in. and now they are charging for the full procedure, despite them not being able to even numb my toe. terrible service, and I will be fighting this. I've had terrible ingrown nails for years. When I finally went in to have this issue addressed, I was thrilled with the service I received. Not only were the doctors knowledgeable and professional, but everyone I encountered at each of the locations I went to was always warm and pleasant. I highly recommend Dr. Melanie Johnson! She has been absolutely wonderful. If you have ingrown nails (or I'm sure, any other foot/nail issue), this is definitely the place to go. read more

I had surgery to remove a neuroma in my foot in 2016 with another clinic. When pain returned to the same spot in 2018, I came to Midwest Podiatry for a second opinion. I worked with Dr. DeBrule who recommended and administered a series of shots. These gradually reduced and removed the residual pain I had been feeling. I went from not being able to run because of this pain to running a 50K trail race and then my first ever 50 mile race. This would not have been possible without the treatment and service I received. The doctor in the downtown office seems good, but that is about all the positive I have to offer. They don't call to follow up or when a product is in. They consistently botch invoicing and re-bill me for services that I have previously paid, such as an office co-payments or orthotics. Getting the billing person to correct the errors is a vicious cycle. read more
