This is an addendum to my prior review. I got a letter from Dr. Bevan announcing the closing of Pinnacle Foot and Ankle Clinic in Edina. Just in the past couple days. Sorry to say it, but I am not surprised. I will be following him to another clinic. Hopefully, his office manager won't. Noticed about Yelp-- they make you sign up for the app to read unfavorable reviews. Seems to be contrary to its implied mission of informing the consumer. read more

Dr. Bevan is great. I had an ulcer on my big toe and I was not happy with my podiatrist and so I was looking for a new one. Pinnacle is close to my office, so I went there. Dr. Bevan is knowledgeable and explains everything in a way that is easily understood. My insurance was not going to cover my procedure and Dr. Bevan and the staff went to bat for me and got them to cover what I needed. The wait time is minimal, and the front desk staff is very nice. read more

I did not feel as Dr Bevan was confident with his diagnosis. Might be this or something else. Glad I opted to not have my toenail removed as it would have been an unnecessary treatment. The office was tricky to find as it's to your left as you enter the main doors BEFORE the front desk. They should make this clear as I ended up having to tour the main floor looking at suite numbers with while nursing a sore foot. read more

I brought my daughter in to have her toenails clipped and before I made the appointment asked approximately how much the service would be, and they said about $45. That was great so we made the appointment. We have high deductible insurance so I'm always careful to find out the cost of a visit before going in. Once there the Dr. discussed toenail fungus and suggested we send in a sample for testing. I told him we already did that through her dermatologist but he wanted to be sure and encouraged us to do it, so we did as a precaution. Then we get the bill. $204 for an office visit because we discussed fungus and didn't just have nails trimmed!! We didn't ask his advice - we already knew what it was. Then we were charged $160 for him to trim the nail and send in a specimen for testing!! So what began as a $45 visit ended up costing over $300, plus the lab fees to test. And we learned nothing we didn't already know when we walked in the door. We had to call to get test results - they never even followed up on a $300 visit! After discussing this with the office manager they waived $60. If you decide to go here beware of hidden charges and exorbitant fees. There is no disclosure beforehand and in this world of high deductibles which mean you pay out of pocket for most things, it is a necessity!! We won't be going back. read more

Shut the front door! They explained my insurance coverage BEFORE my surgery?!! Unheard of! I had a really painful bunionette on my left foot and had surgery 3 years prior at a different office that didn't last... Apparently they can come back:( I came here as a new patient, for a lot of reasons (see above), and was able to schedule surgery about 2 weeks after my initial appointment, also unheard of at the end of the year this close to the holidays and so grateful bc I was in so much pain! Surgery was on Wednesday by Dr. Lee and by Friday I was able to walk with no pain meds in my walking surgery sandal. Followed up today and it looks great, 5 days post op. Bandages came off and I have the stitches that dissolve once you heal so I don't have to have them taken out! Awesome bc I'm a baby and those actually sting when they take them out. I'll be in my sandal another week then a tennis shoe for one more. I will say I feel 100% and I'm 5 days post op and the pain is gone! Dr. Lee and his staff are all amazing! I talked to them Thursday after my surgery and they answered all of my questions and helped me with a new walking sandal Friday bc mine was too big and really hard to walk in. Doctor Le has a wealth of knowledge and is very caring for his patients. He thoroughly examines patients issues, explains the diagnosis and recommends best solutions. Pinnacle Foot and Ankle Clinic's Sweeping Failure to Serve and Respect its Patient On 10/21/14, my father and I met Dr. Michael Bevan of the Pinnacle clinic in Coon Rapids, seeking relief for toe pain. On 2/3/15, doc recommended customized shoe inserts, hopeful that they would alleviate pain under my father's big toe and second toe when he walks, and on the ball of his foot. We ordered inserts and received them on 3/30, but they offered no perceivable benefit so we returned to doc on 4/21. Dr. Bevan told us then that the inserts do NOT offer aid to the toes and that he had informed us of this during our previous meeting. His latter claim is false and if he had done so, we logically would not have ordered the inserts. Dr. Bevan declined to honor a written and verbal guarantee to provide free adjustments for up to six months, saying he does so only for rear-foot problems. He said he was unaware of the guarantee, even though it's written twice on a form with his name and was repeated to us by his assistant Melissa. We requested a full credit for the cost of the inserts, and Dr. Bevan said he would call me with an answer late afternoon on 4/28. He never did so, nor did he respond to my six subsequent voice messages. In a certified letter we received on 4/30, Dr. Bevan banned my father, a 92-year-old man, from all Pinnacle clinics. He offered no explanation for his decision. In same letter, doc stated he WOULD offer free adjustments of the inserts - after clearly saying in our final meeting a week before that he would not. In a conflicting passage, he also wrote he would see my father only if there was an emergency within the next thirty days. On 4/24, I escalated my concerns to Mark Fincham, vice president of clinic. He said he foresaw no problem granting the credit for the shoe inserts, but first needed to approve it with Vincent Simone, president of the clinic. But instead of calling me back, as promised, Fincham inexplicably delegated the doctor to do so. Dr. Bevan said that after Fincham's consultation with Simone, Pinnacle had decided to not offer a credit. Their decision was made without any review or explanation - and without knowledge of my full complaint (I had given Fincham only a brief summary). The following morning, on 4/25, I sent an e-mail to Simone and to Fincham, fully detailing my concerns. Absent a response, I sent e-mails four more times (to each of them) over the next five business days. In addition, over the same time period, I left multiple voice messages for Fincham and Simone, and for operations manager Pam Trojan. Pinnacle Foot offered NO response to a combined 10 e-mails, and 9 voice messages. On 5/4, I called (763 545-7545) Pinnacle's central office in Edina and spoke to rep Brittany. I clearly explained to her the depth of my concern and asked to speak to either Fincham or Simone. She told me to hold a moment and promised to return, but did not. I then called the same phone number three more times and received no answer. I promptly called the Edina clinic and spoke to Tammy, who promised to help but interrupted my comment and transferred me to an unknown voice mail. I called again and spoke to Katie, who said she couldn't hear me and disconnected the phone. I called one more time and spoke to Tessa, who immediately disconnected the phone. Two days later, on 5/6, I again called Pinnacle's central office and spoke to Rachel. I made the same request and told her I was recording the call (my legal right). She put me on hold but again, never returned. I called back twice, without an answer, then called the Edina clinic and spoke to Tammy again, who disconnected the phone. On eleven separate occasions, Pinnacle phone reps either dropped my call, put me on hold and never returned, or did not answer when I called back. In summary, on 4/25, I e-mailed our full complaint to vp Fincham and president Simone about the actions of Dr. Michael Bevan and our valid request for a credit. Twenty-eight business days have passed, and after my countless attempted contacts, Pinnacle Foot and Ankle has offered NO response. Pinnacle Foot has not only remained silent to the substance of our concerns, it has engaged in an organized effort to avoid contact with me. At the same time it has "frozen out" its patient, Pinnacle has billed my father for the shoe inserts and, amazingly, charged him twice. In a bill we received on 5/22/15, Pinnacle noted it had already received $480 from insurance (improperly), and demanded my father pay the remaining amount. All medical providers have an ethical duty to treat their patients with fairness and dignity. When that doesn't happen, it's important to hold them accountable in the hope that remedies are made. This review, I hope, will lead to such action or at minimum, help readers make informed and smart decisions about their medical care. read more
