I was referred to this business through Yelp during our recent snow storm. They were fantastic. I spoke with the owner Joseph on the phone and he told me they work around the clock, but he would not knock on my door if they came through the night. They were there at 7 p.m. that same day (Jan. 8) and did a great job. Joe was there himself and spoke with me...very personable. Reasonable rates and they did a great job. Joseph from Midwest Tree Experts gave us a quote to cut down and remove 1 tree and to trim another tree. They cut the tree down first and while doing so a branch hit our AC unit..bent some of the fins and hit the gutter. They didn't tell us about this but the neighbors saw it and told us the next day after they left. While working on the tree trunk the next day, they left the trunk smash into a retaining wall and broke a cap and cracked some of the blocks. As they were carrying out pieces of wood out of the back yard through the gate on a machine, they guy running the machine left the bucket down on the gate breaking the plastic cap and an upright on the gate. I came outside and they had the gate off the hinges and were trying to see if they could fix it. In the meantime, another worker was trimming the other tree and dropped a branch on the top rail of the fence breaking it. Joseph said he was taking the pieces to a fence place he knew to get replacements. He can back and the place did not have the same rail top but one close so he made it work. They did not have the gate pieces so he put the gate back together and said he had a connection he would reach out to to get replacements. The tree being trimmed was supposed to be dead wooded and trimmed back. They literally cut 4 of the small branches near the bottom. They were packed up and I mentioned how the other tree was not trimmed or cleaned up. He said they would return to trim it the rest of the tre when he came back to repair the gate. I asked about the blocks--these were discontinued when I got the blocks for the area and I informed him of this. He said he take $200 off for the retaining and come back to trim the rest of tree when he fixed the gate. I told him who installed the fence originally and he said he had a connection. I texted him the next day about the tree and gate and he said they would be back. Two months went by and nothing. I texted him again and no reply. Two more months went by and still no reply. After another month and a half I went to a fence place and was able to get gates parts and put them on myself. I called and no answering machine to leave a message so I texted him again telling him I found parts and sent him a copy of the receipt...no reply. I asked him if he was just going send me reimbursement for the parts and for the tree he never finished trimming. No reply. He charged $600 to cut about 4 small branches off the tree and never took the dead wood out or trimmed back the rest of the tree. They didn't complete the job. They were suppose to be back on a Monday to spray. No show, they didn't even notify me. I gave it a few more days. Nothing. The following week, finally they replied. He said he was out of town. He will be by to spray. Now it is April 21st, they didn't show up. I sent another text stating I was going to give them a bad review. They replied back we will be there tomorrow evening. Today is April 28th, still a no show. They don't need to be in this business. Taking advantage of people. I was referred to them for snow removal by Yelp. I left a voicemail message and was called back. I stated that my driveway was in need of snow removal. I was told to send my contact information to the number I called. I was told it might be as late as 2:00 AM before my snow was removed!!! And that I would be sent information on payment as they accepted cards. My snow wasn't removed and I have not heard anything else from them. In my opinion, the individual I spoke with is extremely unprofessional. read more
