Mike had the best price out of the 7 companies I received quotes from. I had a very large oak tree in a difficult location behind a vinyl fence on a 30 foot drop off with only 20 feet from the house to work with. They had the equipment for residential small yards. The crew was very professional and highly skilled in tree removal and vinyl fence removal. The task was completed in one day. They took extra care of the property and the cleanup was exceptional. Mike Baumann of Baumann Tree Service is the kind of person you want to do business with - honest and professional. He recognizes the importance of trying to alleviate "misaligned expectations", which seems to be at the root of so many business, as well as personal, disputes. He responded quickly to my request for a quote and, once the go-ahead was given, he scheduled the work quickly and his crew was on time, all while keeping in constant communication and sending photos of the work in progress. Being a Certified Arborist, I appreciated Mike's expertise and discussion on which trees and shrubs should be removed versus which should just be trimmed. Most impressive was the removal of two large sugar maple trees next to the house that were fragile and in danger of damaging the house, and the trimming of three more large sugar maple trees on the same property. First of all, it was so refreshing to have someone actually show up ahead of the scheduled time to provide the estimate. From that first meeting until the job was completed, the company was professional, communicated well with us, was very knowledgeable, and all workers were very skilled at their jobs. On the day that the Baumann employees showed up to cut our trees down, they were on time, thorough, and unbelievably fast! They are very quick and quiet. But, if it's not your tree they are trimming(oh, they did damage the home they worked at next door. Then they left limbs hanging in nieghbor trees. They dropped the limbs on my property. They didn't bother to tamp the ground the limbs created large digits and ONE SINGLE Swipe of a take and left all the small limbs and twigs on my property and I'm completely and totally disabled. And they won't respond to come take care of the mess they made. Read their website carefully. As a Christian myself, i feel it is important to let you know that website is just window shine to get business. It's a shame you have to call the BBB just to get a company to do the job they advertise. read more

Mike's crew is outstanding. They are highly skilled, very experienced, very safe, and so careful about where they drop the cut branches that they avoid hitting everything underneath. Everyone has a job to do and they do it without being told what to do. Mike leads by example, constantly making sure the guys are safe and showing them what it takes to do the work properly. The crew moves around the tree with precise movements, gradually taking the tree down piece by piece. And what a work ethic. I've never seen a crew work so hard. Very impressive. Mike and his crew of of professionals arrived promptly this morning at 8am as promised. They removed two large pin oak trees from my back yard. Both precariously situated, one over power lines and my neighbors fence/pool, the other within 15 feet of my house. Baumann worked very quickly and most importantly, very safely. All of his men wore proper safety equipment and tied off while in the air. I was also very impressed with Mike Baumann himself, who worked just as hard as any of his workers. Lastly, an inexpensive pole light fixture was accidentally broken by a limb. Mike Baumann promptly called me to bring this to my attention, apologized, and without hesitation told me to purchase a replacement and offered to fully cover the cost. i got 3 bids for a tree removal and Baumann was the cheapest. i called for a week with no answer so i left a message saying i wanted my work done. 3 days latter i come home and see my oak tree gone and my nasty sweetgum tree still there. on top of that my driveway was cracked and when i called the person said they were never there! truly unreal!!! i guess a tornado ripped my 80 foot tall oak tree out of the ground smashed it against the driveway and then lunched it to never never land. when i called my insurance company to make a claim they told me there was no record of a tornado in the area that day just a low wind and some shady tree guy, but mostly sunny! unbelievable !!! read more
