This was my first time coming in and I was met by Mike Marshall, owner of the establishment, who welcomed me. I asked what was good/popular and he was kind enough to let me try the Adobe Chicken, which was his favorite. I ended up settling on the Teri Chicken, with Mac salad and two scoops of rice (classic plate lunch). It was all very well done. The chicken was well cooked and not overly sauced. The Mac salad was lovely (with a hint of black olives in there, something I hadn't had before), and there was (as you can see in my pics), furikake on the table for seasoning (which I very much appreciated). Overall, extremely nice meal and even nicer people. Will add this place to my normal Forest Grove rotation.

Where should I start Miget's island grill is awesome I heard about this place from a co worker who has had their food here and was recommended to try it out, boy was she right the food is pretty amazing and so is the owner very nice guy, he had the island hospitality and we my family was there eating and talking to him for a long time. I didn't take a photo of my food i was hungry and devoured my meal I did how ever take a snap shot of the yummy spam musubi lumpia oh man was that good, the kalua pork was top notch my wife is not a fan of it but he said it was gooooood. I would highly recommend stopping by to have a meal. We live in Beaverton but will definitely be going back again and again next time we're bringing the whole family. He asked for 2 meat plate, 2 scoops of Mac salad, and 5 spam musubis. He ended up with 12-14 small pieces of dry shoyu chicken over rice (which could be considered a 1 plate meal). He tipped almost 40% to come home to a disappointing meal after an unwelcoming experience. Will not eat here again and would suggest others steer clear. The low-quality of the food and severe lack of customer service makes this a 1-star restaurant.

First time there I was amazed at the great friendly customer service and how delicious the food was . Ordered the spicy teriyaki beef . It was like no other I have had. Its like they cooked and sliced a great steak over the rice! I will definitely be back and recommend over other Hawaiian restaurants in the area by far.

Mike, well done. You have the perfect combination of island pride and PNW cultures. I am from Guam, Miget's has the best home cooked Chamorro ribs. The soy sauce to vinegar ratio was perfect. I love the pancit the veggies had a nice crunch. I felt I was eating lunch at my grandparents. My husband ordered the loco moco. I love how the loco moco had spin. It wasn't your typical Hawaiian loco moco. The gravy had the right amount of spice. It paired well with the Kailua pork, eggs, and rice. His staff was extremely friendly. The restaurant is clean, and decorated nicely. In a nutshell, if you are waiting a taste of Guam and Hawaii... this is the place. Food was AMAZING!

To start with some street cred, I'm half Filipino and grew up eating lumpia and pancit. So expectations are high here. I walked in for the first time to Miget's and the smell of fresh grilled marinated chicken permeated the air, I was sold at that point and expectations went higher. The staff was friendly and the restaurant clean. I got my food and drove home with it. My mouth started to water from the smell and anticipation kicked in. Oh boy this better be as good as I've built it up. I sat down took a few bites of everything... (Pause for dramatic effect) and the only thing that came out of my mouth was, "oh my god, F*$& this is good!" I will be a weekly regular.

Nope. That should be the answer if the question is should I go here? I originally saw the cheap prices and Hawaiian and said why not? Apparently I was wrong. This place is inviting and well decorated. There was a going man occupying the front that took our order and he was pleasant. Let's get to the food, the Mac salad is purposely sour tasting and nothing like what you'd get in Hawaii or other Hawaiian restaurants 20 minutes away. My wife ordered the pork and she said it was okay nothing to write home about. My sons kids plate wasn't touched expect the rice that had to be covered in teriyaki sauce in order to be eaten but sure enough it was he didn't touch the Mac salad or chicken. If you look at the photo I provided you will see the portion that was presented to me. I was shocked by how little meat there was. I counted a half a dozen 1/2 inch pieces of chicken one of which turned out to be the bone from the chicken. Not worth it in size or quality. You will be better off going to ridge walker across the street or the sushi place that just opened around the corner. I will not be coming back for any reason.

I have already written a review for Migets and had it at 5 stars but after tonight I have lowered my rating. The food was still good but the service was very slow, food was served kind of warm, and I had to pay an extra $1.50 to sub mac salad for rice. To top it off the portion was small. I attached a photo. We won't be back for a while.

Not sure how you guys feeling about food and place because covi-19 but this spot first time I order food and I can't explain how good it was, food was serve quick and alos everything was fresh and fantastic flavor. Service is pretty good thats why i gave two stars but I cant accept two things the "amount of food for the price" and the taste. For being a Hawaiian restaurant they are known having loving rice they gave us the most one cup rice each. i wasn't able to take pics of my wife's spam meal with side of lumpia: it was two pieces of spam and two pieces of lumpia I got the chamorro ribs with sides of lumpia & pancit. I know inflation made everything expensive but what's the excuse of having no flavor..? Pancit being I am filipino this is the worst one I have tastes sorry to say but the "school pancit" back when I was in elementary school has more flavorl FYK Lumpia is also more wrapper and no flavor on the filling. No soap in bathroom it was just filled with water ? OMG . Food was bland not much flavor. Short ribs were tuff and tasted off. Pulled pork was ok. Not much pineapple in the slaw. read more

We ordered Miget's for a small catered Grad night, and they were very easy to order from and the food was ready on time, nice and fresh, hot and tasty! Lumpia was great, Pancit, Mac salad, Rice, Teri chicken and Kalua Pork were all great for small buffet style dinner for about 15 people. read more

Their food is very mediocre and is not worth their price. The stuff they have you could simply make at home for better quality. The service is good and the ambiance is like a warehouse (agreeing with another review). It is extremely empty and bare. read more

Very fast to go service but has a relaxed feeling seating area. Ordered pulled pork plate with Mac and slaw. I would have liked more sauce at first but meat was very well seasoned and juicy, i dont think it needed extra sauce at all. Slaw and Mac were about as light on the mayo as you can get but tasted very fresh with light seasoning. I wish the portion was a little bigger for the price point but, I will definitely be back. read more

We tried them at least 5 times before giving up. They were always slow, the meat was usually at best lukewarm and the vegetables tasteless. Portions were small and the ambience in there like you're sitting in a cold warehouse. Don't recommend it. read more

You can easily get 2 quality (albeit not very nutritious) meals from a single sub-$9 Pacific plate. The chicken is good, as are the sauces (though the sauces are even saltier than at most island places, so keep this in mind while ordering). The rice is fresh, and the staff are friendly. I'll definitely go here again, and so should you. read more

Walked in and walked right out! The Asian dude working at the counter and looks like the cook too idk.. I walk in with my girlfriend trying to show her a good time in the town I grew up in. I ask how he's doing and ignores me. After a few moments, walks over with a monotone attitude and says what do you want?????????????? I said I want to look at the menu he said sure let me know. Doesn't tell me where it is and what is on special or what sounds good or if I'm looking for anything in particular. We left immediately and went to another restaurant nearby called bites. The lady in there is so sweet and very helpful to help us order. I recommend it 100% over this low life disgusting restaurant :) do better next time buddy. You'll go no where in life with that poor mindset, I literally can change your life. read more

Chef handled payment transaction, his phone, and prepared food without washing hands on multiple transactions. Food tasted like bottled sauce and fairly bland. Shoyu Chicken was overly sugary and looked slimy; not appetizing. read more

I was so looking forward to a good Hawaiian lunch plate. Unfortunately Miget's didn't deliver. I ordered the pork with extra scoop of mac salad. The plate lunch was made up of 2 scoops of mac salad, 2 big scoops of rice, about 1 teaspoon of pork. They threw in two thimble sized containers of sauce. I won't rush back but I'd give the another try. I will say the service was good. read more

Everything was heavily covered in Salt and the Mac Salad was nothing but Mayo and Noodles, zero flavor. The rice was almost pudding mush in consistency. There were 4 different meals and every single meal was nothing but salt and all of our Rice and Mac Salads were; horrible. I couldn't even add seasoning to our meals because it was that overpowering with salt. 10/10 Would not recommend again. This was my first review ever, this bad experience is literally why I chose to come leave a review. Such a waste of food and money. read more

Absolutely amazing! I have never had Filipino food in the states outside of my friend's family gatherings. Miget's is fast, delicious, and the staff are so friendly. Love the variety between Hawaiian, Filipino, and Mexican (they have specialty burritos!). Looking forward to trying everything on their menu, because it has all been amazing so far! read more

You are able to call in an order and pick up, or arrive in person and order. The staff and customers all wear face masks, and social distancing measures are followed. The owner and staff are incredibly kind and provide fast, quality service. The food is fantastic, and I never say no to eating there. Ate at Miget's for lunch today. First time. Had the chicken teriyaki with pancit, mac salad, and rice. Previous Yelp reviews said the mac salad had black olives, but it doesn't have them anymore. Yay! It was good, slightly tangy. I liked it. The teriyaki chicken was flavorful and moist. Not overpowering and not too salty. I tried the pancit since I've never had it. It was ok, but I think I'll try the lumpia next time. I'll definitely be back! read more

Crazy hours, the male owner guy is never very nice the two times we have been there and the choices are limited. Prices are not amazing either and we won't go back. There are better made, nicer customer service and more interesting meals in town. read more

We've only been once. It was okay. Prices are fair. Service was good! But the food didn't really impress me. I grew up on Oahu. And while the food is close, it did miss the mark for me. We will have to hit them up again and try a few other things. They weren't bad, just, a little disappointing. The flavors were a bit off. Mac salad is always one of those things that have multiple recipes, and this one wasn't a fave. But again, it wasn't terrible, just was less than I had hoped for read more

Came because my husband and I were craving pancit and lumpia. We also tried the spam scramble. It's so good, definitely hit the spot. We were given samples of the chicken adobo and Kalua pork, also good. Guy was so nice and we were even given dessert. We're definitely coming back :) read more

Today was my sons and I first experience there since moving to Forest Grove. The ambience is cool very casual and small. The food was delivered in about 10 minutes and it was the lunch hour /noon. We both ordered the spicy chicken teriyaki with rice and Mac as an addtl side. Let me tell you the chicken was juicy and flavorful the rice was too! For white rice I usually think all white rice is bland but this one was extremely good! I added some of the rice seasoning on the table and it was just as good! We will be back if it wasn't because we had other things to do and a lot of people started getting there as we finished we would have ordered plates to go for dinner - it was that GOOD! read more

I started dabbing a bit of the sauce with the tempura though I personally would like to have it more saucy but it was too salty. Overall, it was okay. Just the warmth of the raw fish and the extra salty sauces were personally concerning.

Beyond that, it is straight downhill. To call this a Japanese-food restaurant is not accurate. Besides the sushi, the food seems to be a mishmash of Chinese and American cuisine with Japanese names. We started out with an order of so-called chicken karaage. Imagine my shock when the server delivered a dish of deep-fried chicken strips with a bright orange sauce on top. This dish tasted exactly like Chinese sweet and sour chicken minus the sour. Instead of pieces of thigh meat, it appeared to be sliced chicken breast. This was clearly prepared by someone who has never seen or eaten chicken karaage. My husband ordered the bento box. I wanted to order one but all four options contained chicken teriyaki and shrimp tempura neither of which I wanted. Hubs went ahead and got one with an assortment of sushi. It also had salad (which was a small handful of mixed greens) Can you think of what was missing? Yeah, rice! He had to order and pay for rice as a side dish for a bento box!! WTH?? No self-respecting Japanese cook would serve a bento box without rice!! I sampled the chicken teri. Oh my god, so dry and tasteless. It also appeared to be sliced chicken breast which explained the dry texture. Hubs said the sushi was fine, fish fresh and rice tasted okay. Oh heavens, now onto my sad dish. I ordered the unagi bowl, clarifying with the server that rice was included. It wasn't visible from the menu picture. She enthusiastically confirmed it was, and that the bowl had a ginger dressing. Yum, I thought. That was the last time for the rest of the meal the word "Yum" came to mind. What was placed before me was this: A wide, shallow bowl with a small amount of rice in the bowl part. It was covered with mixed greens and spinach straight out of a package, not prepared in any way. The unagi was sliced thinly and laid on top. All over the lettuce and seeping unpleasantly throughout the rice was a creamy white dressing with no discernible flavor. Like a drab ranch. NOT the promised ginger dressing. Unfortunately for them, I avoid creamy dressings and mayonnaise. It was a nightmare on a plate. The unagi was okay but a bit chewy indicating either a poor quality or undercooking. I tried to eat the rice and salad part but the dressing just overpowered the whole dish. I left most of it after picking off the unagi. Finally, the rice was not cooked long enough or was not Japanese rice. I felt so sorry for our server. She noticed I hadn't eaten most of my dish and asked me how I like it. I just said I don't like creamy dressings and left it at that. She was so sweet but clearly knows nothing about Japanese cuisine. And her cooks know even less. If you want good Japanese food, stick with Syun Izakaya, their sister restaurant, Sawa's, or Mio Sushi. If you want to play Asian food roulette palate-wise, you might have fun here.

Try finding a restaurant in a small town that pleases every member of a family of six. Miget's is that restaurant. Their portions are big, their menu has a good selection, and I can inexpensively feed my large family. I get Kalua pork with lumpia and pancit and am never able to finish it. The dessert lumpia is responsible for half of the weight I gained in my last pregnancy. And my kids, who are all very picky about mac salad, can eat their weight in the stuff. read more
